FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation FUJIF and Cellular Dynamics International, Inc. ICEL announced Monday, that Fujifilm will acquire CDI via an all-cash tender offer to be followed by a second step merger for$16.50 per share or approximately $ 307 million. Fujifilm will commence an all-cash tender offer no later than April 6, 2015 and it is expected to close during Q2 of 2015. Cellular Dynamics gained more than 100% Monday, closing at $16.42. Catamaran to be Acquired By United Health for $61.50/Share The Deal:
UnitedHealth Group's UNH OptumRx and Catamaran Corporation CTRX announced Monday they have agreed to combine. OptumRx will acquire Catamaran's outstanding common stock for $61.50 per share in cash. The deal is expected to close during Q4 of 2015, subject to Catamaran shareholder approval. Catamaran shares gained $0.21 Monday, closing at $23.88. Horizon Pharma to Acquire Hyperion Therapeutic for $46.00/Share in Cash The Deal:
Horizon Pharma plc HZNP and Hyperion Therapeutics, Inc. HPTX announced Monday, that Horizon Pharma will acquire all of the issued and outstanding shares of Hyperion's common stock for $46.00 per share in cash, or approximately $1.1 billion on a fully diluted basis. The deal is expected to close in Q2 of 2015. Hyperion Therapeutics gained 7.5% Monday, closing at $45.98. Hearing Chatter of Potential Priceline Bid for Yelp The Rumor:
Shares of Yelp, Inc. HZNP rose Monday, on unconfirmed market chatter of a potential bid from The Priceline Group Inc. PCLN of $64 to $68 per share. Yelp has been the subject of frequent takeover chatter. Spokespersons for Yelp and Priceline did not respond to requests for comment. Yelp gained $0.23 Monday, closing at $47.39. Teck Resources, Antofagasta Reportedly Exploring Merger The Rumor:
Shares of Teck Resources Limited TCK spiked sharply higher Monday, on a report from Bloomberg that it is exploring a merger with Antofagasta Plc, according to sources. Teck Resources denied the rumor. Teck Resources gained 10% Monday, closing at $15.24.
