SingTel Q4 Net Profit Surges

SINGAPORE TELE ADR SGAPY posted a 4.6 percent gain in its net profit for its fiscal fourth quarter. SingTel's quarterly net profit surged to 939 million Singapore dollars ($709 million), versus a year-earlier profit of S$898 million. Underlying net profit rose 3.3 percent to S$950 million. Its revenue climbed 5.1 percent to S$4.34 billion ($3.28 billion). As at end March, SingTel's total mobile subscribers climbed 8 percent to 555 million. The company announced its plans to pay a final dividend of 10.7 Singapore cents per share (8 cents per share). For the full year ended March 21, the company's profit gained 3.5 percent to S$3.78 billion, while revenue surged 2.2 percent to S$17.22 billion. SingTel shares gained 1.63 percent to close at $33.04 yesterday.
