Singapore Airlines Q4 Profit Surges

SINGAPORE AIRLINES L SINGY posted a string rise in its net profit for the fiscal fourth quarter. The company's quarterly net profit surged 47 percent to 39.6 million Singapore dollars (US$30 million), versus a year-ago profit of S$27 million. Its revenue climbed 6.8 percent to S$3.88 billion. Fuel costs shrank to S$1.28 billion, compared to S$1.38 billion. Singapore Airlines announced its plans to pay a final dividend of 17 Singapore cents a share. Singapore Airlines shares gained 1.27 percent to close at $17.59 yesterday.
