VoiceServe, Inc. VSRV today released the latest version of its Vippie mobile dialer for iPhones that supports video calling to other iPhone users as well as to any SIP device. The application developed by Voipswitch for video conferencing, lowers the bandwidth usage to as little as 140Kb/s. The application is available in Apple's App Store under the name Vippie Video Softphone (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/vippie-video-softphone-voip/id407806595?mt=8).
Michael Bibelman, Voiceserve's CEO, said, “During 2010, our 90 person engineering team in Poland was highly productive launching 19 new modules, enhancing our core VoIP software offering. Our software continues to lead the market in new VoIP applications. We are the first to market with the VoIP video conferencing for iPhone feature as a module, which will support other SIP users. To date, most smart cell phones can benefit from the broad array of the Voipswitch modules, including numerous convenience features such as conferencing, call forwarding, call waiting and texting, to name a few. With the announcement today, we are beginning our VoIP video service and, in future releases, we plan to add support for higher resolution video and support for additional compression systems.”
