Church & Dwight announced Thursday that it "is not engaged in discussions with, nor has it received any proposal or communication concerning a potential bid for the Company or any of its business units and is not otherwise aware of any information supporting these rumors." Shares of the maker of Arm & Hammer baking soda and Trojan condoms have been extremely volatile the past two days on reports from Negocios.com that it has received takeover interest from Proctor and Gamble PG and Germany's Reckitt Bensicker RBGLY. Church & Dwight shares rose 2.18% Thursday to close at $99.09. Monsanto, Bayer Confirm Takeover Talks in Separate Statements The Talks:
Monsanto Company MON confirmed late Wednesday, that it has received an unsolicited, non-binding proposal from Bayer AG BAYRY to acquire the US agricultural company. Monsanto's Board said it is reviewing the proposal. Bayer announced on Thursday, their executives had met with executives of Monsanto to discuss a potential acquisition of Monsanto. Monsanto closed at $100.55 on Thursday, up 3.5%. Rexnord to Acquire Cambridge International for ~$210M The Deal:
Rexnord RXN announced Thursday, that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Cambridge International Holdings for an estimated total transaction value of $210 million. The transaction is expected to close in the next 30 days. Rexnord closed at $19.69 on Thursday, down 3.1%. Oil Search to Acquire InterOil for ~$2.2B The Deal:
InterOil Corporation IOC and Oil Search Limited OISHY announced Thursday, that they have signed a definitive agreement under which Oil Search will acquire all of the outstanding shares of InterOil in a deal valued at approximately $2.2B. InterOil shareholders will receive 8.05 Oil Search shares plus a Contingent Value Right worth approximately $6.05 based on a contingency, for each InterOil share. The deal is expected to close in Q3 of 2016. InterOil closed at $31.65 on Thursday and traded as high as $41.30 after-hours. FMC Technologies, Technip to Combine in All Stock Transaction The Deal:
Technip TKPPY and FMC Technologies, Inc. FTI today announce that the companies will merge into a new entity. At the closing, each share of Technip common stock will be converted into two ordinary shares of TechnipFMC and each common share of FMC Technologies will be exchanged for one ordinary share of TechnipFMC. The transaction is expected to close early in 2017. FMC Technologies closed at $27.30 on Thursday, down 4.71%.
