"Shark Tank" personality and fund manager Kevin O'Leary was a guest on CNBC's "Halftime Report" show on Tuesday to share some of his top stock picks.
Top on his list is Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. DPS, despite an already strong run over the past year. According to O'Leary, the company's last quarter was "spectacular," especially in the changing beverage market where consumers are placing more emphasis on health related concerns.
O'Leary added that Dr Pepper Snapple is a "slightly defensive" stock with a "decent" yield.
Next on O'Leary's list is Hershey Co HSY — a stock he has owned "for a long time." He thinks this time around Hershey will end up selling itself because it "needs scale" and "efficiencies," not to mention "massive distribution."
O'Leary added that Hershey is an iconic American brand with tremendous value, and a "new owner could do a lot with it."
Moving on, owning shares of Northrop Grumman Corporation NOC is a "pure play on politics," as both Republican and Democrat presumed nominees Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton will both show great support for the U.S. military. Meanwhile, the stock isn't "crazy overvalued," as it is trading at a slight discount.
