RockTenn and Smurfit-Stone Announce Early Termination of HSR Waiting Period

RockTenn RKT and Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation SSCC announced today that the Federal Trade Commission has granted early termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 in connection with the previously announced acquisition of Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation by RockTenn. The transaction remains subject to other customary closing conditions, including approval by the stockholders of both companies.
