10 Companies With The Best Corporate Reputations

For the second straight year, online retail giant Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN took the top spot in the Harris Corporation Reputation Poll.

The Harris Poll Reputation Quotient (RQ) quantifies the reputation of companies as they are perceived by the general public. The organization has been ranking companies since 1999 and takes into account six different factors in assigning a score:

    1. Social responsibility.
    2. Vision and leadership.
    3. Financial performance.
    4. Products and services.
    5. Emotional appeal.
    6. Workplace environment.

In total, 4,092 U.S. adults participated in the rankings, which took place between Sep. 13–15 and Oct. 4–6, 2016.

Amazon's overall score of 86.27 prompted the company to offer all customers a discount of $8.62 on all orders of $50 or more by using a discount code "BIGTHANKS" at checkout.

"A huge thank you to customers — we're energized by this recognition and will keep working and inventing on your behalf," said Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and CEO. "And congratulations to all Amazonians — these accolades are a direct result of the whole team's obsession over customers, pioneering spirit, commitment to operational excellence and willingness to lean into bold bets."
