Best 1) Tasty Baking Company TSTY: Stock has jumped a resounding 146.58% to $3.96 after Flowers Foods FLO revealed plans to buy the company for $4 per share in an all-cash arrangement. 2) Global Crossing GLBC: Surging 57.09% to $23.25 after Level 3 Communications LVLT announced that it will acquire the company in an all-stock purchase (16 shares of Level 3 common stock for each share of Global Crossing common or preferred). The stock had been up as much as 75% earlier in the session. 3) American Medical Systems AMMD: Currently trading higher by 31.93% to $29.47 after agreeing to be acquired by Endo Pharmaceuticals ENDP for $30 a share. The deal is worth 2.9 billion. 4) Electronics For Imaging EFII: Enjoying a 16.94% run to $17.53 after boosting first-quarter guidance. CEO Guy Gecht noted “robust demand” in all three of the company's business segments, mostly in its print servers as well as software products. 5) Idenix Pharmaceuticals IDIX: Shares are trading higher by 11.38% to $3.23 after an upgrade from Neutral to Buy at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch BAC. Other notable movers: Sunesis Pharmaceuticals SNSS up 9.35% to $2.34; Affymetrix AFFX up 7.91% to $5.73; Molycorp MCP up 5.86% to 71.13 after a price target raise from $74 to $90 by JP Morgan analyst Michael Gambardella. Worst 1) Community Health Systems CYH: Shares are freefalling 30.69% to $27.87 after being accused of violations of Federal Securities Laws in a lawsuit filed by Tenet Healthcare THC. The stock had traded all the way down to $22.33 earlier in the session. 2) QuickLogic QUIK: Stock is currently plunging 17.04% to $4.04 after cutting its first-quarter revenue forecast. 3) Tenet Healthcare THC: Equity continues to slide, taking a 13.11% haircut to $6.56 after filing a lawsuit against Community Health Systems CYH alleging improper admission of patients in order to garner revenue. 4) 3D Systems TDSC: Trading 11.77% to the downside at $49.87. The stock posted a new 52-week high last Friday. 5) Westport Innovations WPRT: The stock started out the day in positive territory but has fallen 10.51% to $23.93.
