Yaccarino on Musk, D.O.G.E.: Yaccarino also discussed the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/24/11/41927289/trump-appoints-elon-musk-and-vivek-ramaswamy-to-lead-doge-targeting-bureaucracy-and-65-trillion-federal-spending-we-will-not-go-gently">upcoming role </a>of her X owner boss Musk as the co-lead of the new Department of Government Efficiency under President-elect Donald Trump.
"We should all be rooting for the overwhelming success of D.O.G.E. I would expect other countries to follow," Yaccarino said.
Yaccarino said D.O.G.E. could become one of the "single biggest unifiers" to bring America together.
The X CEO brushed off concerns that Musk, who is the most-followed person on X, will use the platform to push his own D.O.G.E. agenda, as reported by CyberNews. Yaccarino said that Musk is already an open book on X and shares his thoughts and views on numerous topics.
"We should encourage all business leaders, all government leaders, to do exactly the same thing and share more, not less. Exercise our own individual freedom of speech rights, but also our life experiences and what we'd like to share and inspire other people," Yaccarino said.
Yaccarino on Legacy Media: The X CEO was critical of legacy media during her keynote, citing the important role X plays in giving a platform for independent journalists. The X CEO said offering a revenue share model for top journalists and content creators could help challenge legacy media.
"We know the future of news is not legacy media. Legacy media news has become almost like a fan service to make sure that you're speaking to a niche audience to make your budget," Yaccarino said.
Yaccarino said X will see more engagement in 2025 with the return of many advertisers and some partnership expansions like the National Football League. Yaccarino also highlighted an upcoming advertiser tool she called the "holy grail."
Called Trend Genius, the tool will automatically boost ad campaigns when a trending topic happens related to the advertised product or company.
"It is something that only X can do," Yaccarino said, as <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/01/07/business/ces-2025-x-ceo-linda-yaccarino-touts-holy-grail-feature-as-ai-powered-robots-gadgets-dominate-show-floor-2/">reported </a>by the New York Post.
Yaccarino gave examples of an LVMH partnership with Zendaya that saw a boost during the Golden Globes ceremony and when Bradley Cooper, an LVMH influencer, went viral and was seen singing at a Taylor Swift concert. When these people trended, the ad campaign got a boost and saw "real-time conversation."
X Money, Future Growth: Yaccarino said X is continuing to grow and is focusing on opportunities for independent journalists and content creators to make money on the platform.
Yaccarino called X the "number one news app in the world" and said that there is opportunities for journalists, content creators and influencers to make a living on the platform thanks to X Money. &nbsp;
"X Money is going to change both payments and the opportunities for creators on the platform forever. And then you have to talk about Grok, right? So these two things together, profound differentiation for our company and profoundly propelling us at breakneck speed into 2025," Yaccarino said.
The comments on X Money come after a recent tweet from Yaccarino that prompted speculation that Musk's goal of an everything app with payments included could be closer to reality in 2025.

This opacity in decisionmaking and oversight has allowed a culture of obfuscation and closemindedness to fester at FDA. And your agency's review of our application to market tradipitant is no exception.
Three months ago, Vanda received a complete response letter (CRL), dated September 18, 2024, in response to the new drug application (NDA) Vanda submitted on September 18, 2023, for the use of tradipitant for the treatment of symptoms of gastroparesis, a serious and debilitating gastrointestinal disorder. We wrote to Dr. Nikolov expressing our surprise "by the sheer disregard for the facts, evidence, and basic scientific principles contained in the complete response"—a letter that could not "possibly reflect a legitimate regulatory review" as it did not "provide reasoned explanations or engage with the evidence we presented on its merit—including voluminous evidence from experts."
Three months later, Dr. Nikolov has not even acknowledged that letter, let alone provided a response. This is unacceptable, and stems from the seriously misguided nature of your position that you will not overrule decisions made by civil servants at the Agency except in extreme situations such as "corruption" or "temporary insanity" of the decision maker. As a political appointee and head of the agency, you are the only person accountable to the American public—a public that needs to know that the agency will follow the law and ensure courteous and civil behavior by agency employees.
In addition, FDA has denied our request to convene an Advisory Committee to consider our application for tradipitant, a process by which experts and the public can voice their opinion on our application. As you are no doubt aware, the number of Advisory Committee meetings convened by the agency has drastically declined over the last few years.&nbsp;See Cheri Banks, The Future of Voting for FDA Advisory Committees, Federation of American Scientists (Sept. 9, 2024), perma.cc/L8R3-2FJD (noting that in 2021, 6% of drug applications were referred to advisory committees, down from 55% in 2010). You have stated separately that there should be "less voting" by advisory committees, and that you don't believe in "gladiator votes" because "votes don't matter."&nbsp; These statements compound a sentiment that the agency avoids public scrutiny of its decisions, which is dangerous both for public health and agency credibility.
I understand that you may be leaving the agency in the new administration, but I hope that you will consider this letter, and I would welcome your thoughts in response. FDA's policies, practices, and culture must be evaluated and corrected so as to align with scientific evidence and the law.
