Stocks That Hit 52-Week Lows On Monday

The CNN Money Fear and Greed index showed further improvement in overall market sentiment, but the index remained in the &#8220;Fear&#8221; zone on Tuesday.
U.S. stocks settled higher on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones index gaining more than 500 points during the session as investors bet on more domestic-friendly policies following Donald Trump&#8217;s inauguration on Jan. 20 as the 47th U.S. President.
All three major indices also recorded their first weekly gain of 2025. The Dow jumped 3.7%, while the S&amp;P 500 added 2.9% last week. The Nasdaq, meanwhile, surged 2.5% during the week to notch its strongest weekly performance since December.
D.R. Horton Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DHI#NYSE">DHI</a>) reported better-than-expected first-quarter results. 3M Company (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MMM#NYSE">MMM</a>) reported upbeat fourth-quarter 2024 results and initiated 2025 guidance.
Most sectors on the S&amp;P 500 closed on a positive note, with industrials, real estate, and health care stocks recording gains on Tuesday. However, energy stocks bucked the overall market trend, closing the session lower.
The Dow Jones closed higher by around 538 points to 44,025.81 on Tuesday. The S&amp;P 500 rose 0.88% to 6,049.24, while the Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.64% at 19,756.78 during Tuesday's session.
Investors are awaiting earnings results from Abbott Laboratories (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ABT#NYSE">ABT</a>), The Procter &amp; Gamble Company (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PG#NYSE">PG</a>), and Johnson &amp; Johnson (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JNJ#NYSE">JNJ</a>) today.
What is CNN Business Fear &amp; Greed Index?
At a current reading of 40.8, the index remained in the &#8220;Fear&#8221; zone on Tuesday, versus a prior reading of 37.6.
The Fear &amp; Greed Index is a measure of the current market sentiment. It is based on the premise that higher fear exerts pressure on stock prices, while higher greed has the opposite effect. The index is calculated based on seven equal-weighted indicators. The index ranges from 0 to 100, where 0 represents maximum fear and 100 signals maximum greediness.

Dow Jumps Over 500 Points As Trump Takes Office: Investor Sentiment Improves, But Greed Index Remains In 'Fear' Zone

Hal Sperlich, the automotive genius behind the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/04/38285214/fords-mustang-gallops-into-60th-year-still-a-pony-with-plenty-of-kick">Ford Mustang</a>, passed away on Monday at 95. 
What Happened: Sperlich is best known as the chief architect behind the Ford Mustang and the Chrysler minivan. A Detroit and Saginaw native, Sperlich trained to be an engineer at the University of Michigan. He joined Ford in 1957 as a product planner and went on to develop the Mustang.
After leaving Ford, Sperlich joined Chrysler in 1977 and directed the company&#8217;s engineering personnel to develop a front-wheel-drive platform that became the &#8220;K-Car&#8221; which later gave rise to the company&#8217;s minivans. He was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame in 2009.
The news of his passing was first<a href="https://www.autonews.com/executives/an-obituary-hal-sperlich/"> reported</a> by Automotive News.
Ford CEO Responds: Ford CEO Jim Farley expressed his condolences on Tuesday in a post on social media platform X. 
&#8220;We lost a product visionary in Hal Sperlich. He was also a friend and mentor to me, and many others.&nbsp; Hal was a dare-to-be-different product planner who had vision, passion and knowledge of a customers' wants and needs,&#8221; Farley said. The CEO noted that Sperlich was behind the Ford Fiesta in addition to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/42938610/ford-sold-more-electric-mustangs-than-gas-mustangs-in-2024">the Mustang.</a>
&#8220;He didn't play it safe, and he was always focused on the whitespace&nbsp;and improving the company's capability.&nbsp;There are a lot of people who make great cars but so few who invent segments like Hal did with the Ford Mustang and later the Fiesta,&#8221; Farley said. &#8220;Our hearts go out to his family and friends.&#8221;

For the quarter ending 31 December 2024, BW Product Services reported an estimated gross profit of approximately USD 14 million. This gross profit primarily stems from a USD 58 million gain from realised trading positions, which was partially offset by an unrealised negative movement of USD 44 million due to the change in mark-to-market value of our open cargo contracts and hedging transactions.
After general and administrative expenses and income taxes, BW Product Services reported an estimated net profit of approximately USD 3 million for the quarter. The reported net profit includes accruals for personnel costs which may change subject to board approvals.

A trader&#8217;s actions planted doubts on Tuesday after they bought over $5 million worth of Official Trump (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/">TRUMP</a>) memecoin at the bottom just minutes after President Donald Trump said he knows little about it.
What Happened: In an X post, capital markets commentator The Kobeissi Letter drew attention to suspicious dealings shortly after Trump made his first public statement on his official coin.
The post noted that TRUMP fell over 33% three minutes after Trump&#8217;s remarks. At the exact bottom, a wallet scooped $5.09 million of the coin, which The Kobeissi Letter deemed as &#8220;one of the biggest single purchases&#8221; since the coin&#8217;s launch.
The subsequent purchase led to a quick recovery in the coin&#8217;s value, netting the trader $2.4 million in profits in just 14 minutes later.

The Kobeissi Letter called this development unusual. &#8220;Did someone know?&#8221; it said, alluding to insider training.
The findings were <a href="https://dexscreener.com/solana/a8nphpcjqtqhdquk35uj9hy2ysgxfkczgunwvkd3k7vc">drawn </a>from analytics platform DEX Screener and independently verified by Benzinga. The team behind Trump&#8217;s memecoin didn&#8217;t immediately return a request for comment.

Why It Matters: Trump <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/25/01/43118779/trump-memecoin-regains-momentum-rallies-22-as-the-president-calls-billions-earned-through-the-venture-as-peanuts">appeared nonchalant </a>when he was asked about the Solana (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/sol/usd">SOL</a>)-based memecoin&nbsp;during his first White House news conference.

However, when a journalist suggested that Trump had made "several billion dollars" from the venture, the president called it &#8220;peanuts.&#8221;
According to the coin's official website, entities linked to Trump&#8217;s family-owned conglomerate, The&nbsp;Trump Organization, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/25/01/43080060/donald-trump-and-melania-memecoins-combined-market-value-is-now-higher-than-that-of-warren-buffetts-hot-pick">control </a>80% of the coin&#8217;s supply. 
Price Action: At the time of writing, TRUMP was exchanging hands at $43.13, surging 20.53% in the last 24 hours, according to&nbsp;DEX Screener.

The company said it sees full-year revenue of $43.5 billion to $44.5 billion, up $0.5 billion from the company&#8217;s previous range. Netflix shares jumped 14.4% to $994.80 in the after-hours trading session.</li>
<li>Analysts are expecting Procter &amp; Gamble Co. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/PG#NYSE">PG</a>) to post quarterly earnings at $1.86 per share on revenue of $21.54 billion. The company will release earnings before the markets open. Procter &amp; Gamble shares gained 1% to $163.38 in after-hours trading.</li>

Elon Musk&#8217;s rocket manufacturing company <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/space/25/01/42755343/spacex-hits-new-milestone-in-2024-with-134-launches">SpaceX</a> on Tuesday launched its Falcon 9 rocket with 27 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from California and subsequently landed a Falcon 9 rocket booster for the 400th time.
What Happened: Following separation from the rocket&#8217;s second stage, the booster that supported the Starlink mission landed back on Earth, enabling the company to reuse it for another mission.

The booster that supported the mission on Tuesday previously launched Oneweb 4, USSF-62, and other Starlink missions. The maximum number of missions to be flown by one Falcon 9 booster to date is 25.
Why It Matters: SpaceX is attempting to make its rockets reusable to bring down the cost of spaceflight as the cost of the first stage constitutes the majority of the cost of a new rocket.

&#8220;Rockets are no different from other transport technologies, just harder to make reusable. No one would buy a single-use airplane, car, or even bicycle! You&#8217;d need to tow another car just for the return trip,&#8221; Musk said.
While the Falcon 9 is only partially reusable, SpaceX is attempting to make its Starship launch vehicle wholly reusable, landing back not just the booster but also the spacecraft. However, the Starship is currently only in the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/43052113/bezos-musk-extend-cordial-support-despite-building-rivalry-between-their-rocket-companies">testing and development phase. </a>
