Previously, the company reported that it was unable to file its earnings on time for multiple reasons, including the resignation of its previous independent accounting firm, Ernest &amp; Young. The company also explained that its management team needs to time to review the company&#8217;s financial statements and internal controls. 
On Monday the company <a href="https://www.benzinga.com//node/42111748">announced</a> that it has appointed BDO USA as its independent auditor.
"BDO is a highly respected accounting firm with global capabilities.&nbsp;This is an important next step to bring our financial statements current, an effort we are pursuing with both diligence and urgency," said&nbsp;Charles Liang, president and CEO of SuperMicro.

Stephen Cohen, who's still president of Palantir, owns about 1.5% of the company's shares. He and Lonsdale worked closely with Peter Thiel, Palantir's better-known cofounder and were part of Thiel's inner circle during the company&#8217;s early days. Both men – in their early forties – now have significant fortunes due to their involvement in the company, all thanks to their early involvement and the recent surge in its value.
Palantir's recent stock jump hasn't just benefited Lonsdale and Cohen. 'Daddy's Home' – Palantir Creates Two New Billionaires After Trump's Win. Both Own Less Than 2% Stock And Are Thiel's Favorites

Jack Mallers, CEO of payment platform Strike, has made a powerful case for the United States to embrace Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) as a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42121376/strategic-bitcoin-reserve-wouldnt-require-new-taxpayer-dollars-says-sen-cynthia-lummis">strategic reserve asset</a>.
What Happened: In an <a href="https://x.com/jackmallers/status/1859608923344421177">interview</a> with CNBC on Thursday, Mallers compared the potential adoption of Bitcoin by the U.S. government to pivotal moments in economic history, including Nixon's departure from the gold standard in 1971.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">A Vision For Bitcoin As A National Asset</h3>
Mallers argued that Bitcoin's decentralized and transparent nature aligns perfectly with American values such as equal rights and open opportunity. 
He described Bitcoin as &#8220;an asset that was accessible to the people 15 years ago, that the people own. Governments only own 2, 3, 4% of this asset.&#8221;
According to Mallers, embracing Bitcoin is a way for the U.S. to remain <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42098407/donald-trump-reportedly-eyeing-the-first-crypto-focused-role-in-the-white-house">competitive and innovative</a>.
"It acts in the best interest of the public. It's pro jobs, it's pro energy, it's pro industry, it's pro growth," he said. 
Highlighting the national debt crisis, Mallers rhetorically asked, &#8220;Does anyone else have a plan to get us out of debt? Are we going to start a lemonade stand out here in Times Square? No. How about the best-performing asset in the history of mankind?&#8221;

Mallers dismissed the notion that people are &#8220;too late&#8221; to invest in Bitcoin, calling it a distraction rooted in comparison to early adopters. 
"People think they're late to Bitcoin. I don't understand that. Late according to who? Over the last 15 years, the best thing you could have done is buy Bitcoin," he said. 
Mallers went on to assert that this would hold true for the &#8220;next 1,500 years.&#8221;
With the U.S. national debt ballooning and global competitors embracing Bitcoin, Mallers emphasized the urgency of acting now. 
"As a country, I think we have a choice. I think the worst thing we can do is not own enough," he warned. 
He urged the U.S. to support its homegrown crypto businesses, saying, "Coinbase (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/COIN#NASDAQ">COIN</a>) is an American company, Strike is an American company, Kraken is an American company. Let's support these businesses, let's support this industry."
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Pro-Growth And Pro-Innovation</h3>
Mallers aligned Bitcoin adoption with the values of the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42122348/trumps-planned-crypto-council-may-oversee-bitcoin-reserve-report">incoming U.S. administration</a>, which he sees as an opportunity to drive growth and innovation.
"As this new administration takes office, we have to make a decision. To de-risk this, we should buy some Bitcoin and push American ideals in technology and innovation through the best-performing asset and technology in mankind," he said.

Just hours after former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/11/42119848/matt-gaetz-withdraws-name-from-ag-nomination-calls-sex-trafficking-controversy-a-distraction">withdrew</a> from consideration for attorney general, President-elect Donald Trump <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/11/42130207/trump-picks-former-florida-ag-pam-bondi-for-justice-department-after-matt-gaetz-withdraws">announced his new nominee</a>: former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi. 
The selection shifts the spotlight to Bondi's record, especially her stance on cannabis reform, which contrasts starkly with Gaetz's pro-legalization views.
Despite the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/11/42026047/gaetz-nomination-in-peril-due-to-gop-resistance">unsavory allegations</a><a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/11/42119848/matt-gaetz-withdraws-name-from-ag-nomination-calls-sex-trafficking-controversy-a-distraction"> </a>against Gaetz's personal behavior, he&#8217;s been an <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cannabis/23/07/33127611/rep-matt-gaetz-wants-to-end-cannabis-testing-for-us-military-citing-recruitment-crisis">advocate for cannabis reform</a> and was expected to adopt a lenient approach toward legalization if appointed. In contrast, Bondi had a tougher stance on medical marijuana during her tenure as Florida's Attorney General (2011-2019).
<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Bondi While Florida&#8217;s AG</h1>
For example, in 2013, Bondi&#8217;s office <a href="https://www.huffpost.com/entry/florida-medical-marijuana_n_4159849">filed a 57-page challenge</a> to the proposed ballot initiative that was seeking to put medical marijuana (MMJ) on the ballot the following year. Once medical marijuana was approved, she defended state laws restricting cannabis use, including a ban on publicly smoking it. Bondi argued at the time that the ban was justified due to concerns over secondhand smoke exposure. 
A state judge later ruled the ban to be inconsistent with Florida's constitutional amendment that legalized medical cannabis in 2014. The restriction was eventually overturned under Gov. Ron DeSantis who <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cannabis/24/06/39346531/desantis-cant-get-past-the-odor-of-weed-to-smell-the-flowers-specifically-430m-annually-in-canna">went on the warpath</a> against smoking in public.

<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Trump's Drug Addiction Commission</h1>
Bondi's role on Trump's Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis during his first term in the White House could further complicate her position on cannabis. 
The commission, which was chaired by former New Jersey Gov. <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/chris-christie">Chris Christie</a>, was skeptical about cannabis as a treatment for chronic pain or opioid addiction, citing studies suggesting a potential link between marijuana use and opioid abuse. Authoritative <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cannabis/24/01/36578723/huge-study-reveals-cannabis-provides-similar-pain-relief-benefits-as-opioids-without-negative-co">studies</a> have since shown the contrary to be the case.
Though Bondi's track record has raised concerns among some cannabis reform advocates, industry leader Kim Rivers, CEO of Trulieve Cannabis Corp (OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TCNNF#OTC">TCNNF</a>), described Bondi on X as "straightforward and very fair," <a href="https://www.marijuanamoment.net/trumps-new-attorney-general-pick-opposed-legalizing-medical-marijuana-in-florida/">reported</a> Marijuana Moment.
"She is passionate about ending the opioid crisis and did great work shutting down pill mills in Florida. She is an advocate for safe, regulated markets and I believe she will bring the same energy to end the fentanyl issues our country is facing," Rivers said.
