Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TAK#NYSE">TAK</a>) announced on Friday that the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has approved HYQVIA (Immune Globulin Infusion 10% with Recombinant Human Hyaluronidase) for the treatment of patients <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/12/b42697319/takeda-announces-approval-of-hyqvia-10-s-c-subcutaneous-injection-set-in-japan-for-patients-with-a" rel="noreferrer noopener">with agammaglobulinemia or hypogammaglobulinemia.</a>
These conditions, characterized by low or absent antibody levels, result in an increased risk of serious infections. This approval introduces the first and only facilitated subcutaneous immunoglobulin (fSCIG) therapy in Japan, offering patients a new treatment option.
HYQVIA combines subcutaneous immunoglobulin (10%) with recombinant human hyaluronidase (rHuPH20), which facilitates larger volume infusions by increasing the dispersion and absorption of immunoglobulin in subcutaneous tissue.

This allows for less frequent dosing, with treatments every 3 to 4 weeks, compared to weekly or bi-weekly infusions with other subcutaneous immunoglobulin treatments.
This flexibility eliminates the need for venous access, offering patients greater convenience.
The approval was based on data from two Phase 3 clinical trials conducted in Japan and North America.
These studies showed that HYQVIA maintained stable IgG levels comparable to intravenous or other subcutaneous immunoglobulin treatments, with manageable side effects such as mild fever and injection site reactions.
Takeda's commitment to offering differentiated immunoglobulin therapies is further demonstrated by this approval, which expands its portfolio in Japan.
The company also continues to invest in local manufacturing to meet the growing demand for plasma-derived therapies as education and diagnosis of immunodeficiencies improve.
Price Action: TAK shares are trading higher by 1.07% to $13.28&nbsp;premarket at last check Friday.

EVject first came into focus after EV giant Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) sued it over the safety of its &#8216;breakaway&#8217; <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/07/39951183/tesla-supercharger-network-growth-slows-down-in-q2-after-exit-of-rebecca-tinucci-and-other-employees" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">charging connector for EV drivers.</a>
EVject's charging connector allows drivers to disconnect from EV chargers and drive away in emergencies without stepping out of the vehicle. Tesla filed a lawsuit against EVject earlier this year alleging that their breakaway connectors are "dangerous" and pose a high safety risk.
Inspiration Behind The Breakaway Connector: EVject founder Kreg Peeler in an interview detailed the inspiration behind the connector. 
&#8220;We came into existence because we kept hearing about this problem where it&#8217;s not just Teslas, but all EVs. Any electric vehicle plugged in at a public charger is disabled while charging,&#8221; Peeler said. 
Tesla&#8217;s Lawsuit: The company developed its breakaway connector device and shipped all its preorders in February earlier this year before it received a notice from Tesla. Tesla subsequently requested a few EVject connectors to test and said it has no over-temperature protection and may overheat when charging.
Peeler subsequently took to X noting his differences with the testing and Tesla CEO Elon Musk assured in a post on X that he &#8220;will investigate&#8221; the issue. 
Tesla later reached out to Peeler and EVject agreed to have a thermal sensor included in the product as a protective measure in case of overheating and the EV maker subsequently dropped the lawsuit. 
Boon In Disguise?: As per Peeler, it would cost EVJect $30,000 to get the connectors shipped to customers back and then retrofit them with thermal sensors before sending them back out.
&#8220;It&#8217;s about $30,000. But overall, we think the market exposure and the awareness we got out of it was probably worth that,&#8221; Peeler said.
The lawsuit threw EVject into the spotlight, with several players showing interest in the company&#8217;s connector device, including German automaker Volkswagen.
The company is now looking forward to showcasing a few of its products to Volkswagen in March. 
EVject has shipped 3,500 of its breakaway connectors to date. While the company is making a profit per device, it is yet to be profitable as a corporation. The company is now looking to scale in terms of volume and has also got ideas for new products to develop when they have enough cash flow.
&#8220;By 2030, we want to have sold millions of units and have the company be worth a billion dollars. So that&#8217;s five years away. Or get acquired somewhere along the way. If Volkswagen or Tesla came in and made us a good offer, we would seriously consider it,&#8221; Peeler said.

Tesla's Lawsuit Has Startup EVject Looking At A Potential Partnership With Volkswagen

U.S. equity markets could be headed for a correction due to a confluence of factors like the growing divergence from "Magnificent 7" stocks and President-elect Donald Trump's tariff plans, according to market expert Jay Woods.
What Happened: In an interview with <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/video/2024/12/27/market-is-at-the-beginning-of-a-10-percent-correction-says-freedom-capitals-jay-woods.html">CNBC</a>, Woods, chief market strategist at Freedom Capital Markets, cautioned about the possibility of a market correction in the near term.
According to Woods, we could be at the beginning of a 10% correction in the equity markets. Woods noted that these corrections happen roughly once every 18 months.
"We've had a tremendous run, 10% correction is due to happen every 18 months… What we're seeing is just horrible market breadth," Woods said.
Woods added that while the "Magnificent 7" stocks — Apple (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>), Microsoft (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>), Google parent Alphabet (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>), Amazon.com (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMZN#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>), Nvidia (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>), Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) and Tesla (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) — have done well, the divergence in their performance and that of the overall market is "getting a little bit too rich" for him.

"Once we get to the new quarter, we're going to have some headwinds to deal with. We may see some of those Mag 7 names give back a little bit. I don't think the rotation will keep us from having a 10% correction."
"It's not going to be fun," he quipped.
Woods also pointed to uncertainty due to Trump's tariff plans as a possible headwind that could have an impact on the markets.
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy-led Department of Government Efficiency's (DOGE) plans to cut down federal spending could also result in an uptick in unemployment, said Woods.
Why It Matters: The potential for a market correction has been echoed by other financial experts.
Brian Arcese&nbsp;from&nbsp;Foord Asset Management&nbsp;has also <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/11/42133820/potential-healthy-correction-for-an-expensive-market-looms-as-us-economic-growth-and-earnings-slow-says-asset-manager-sp-500-nasdaq-futures-trade-lower-in-premarket">raised concerns</a> about the slowing U.S. economic growth and corporate earnings, which could trigger a correction if they continue to decelerate. Arcese pointed out that the S&amp;P 500 has been &#8220;expensive for quite a while,&#8221; with a price-to-earnings ratio exceeding 27.
Additionally,&nbsp;Jeremy Siegel, professor emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, described a recent stock market downturn as a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/economics/macro-economic-events/24/12/42570219/whartons-jeremy-siegel-calls-stock-sell-off-a-healthy-reality-check-market-was-overly-optimistic">&#8220;healthy&#8221; reaction</a> to the Federal Reserve&#8217;s cautious approach to future interest rate cuts.
The Fed&#8217;s decision to lower interest rates by a quarter percentage point led to declines across major Wall Street indexes, as investors had anticipated more aggressive rate reductions.
Billionaire investor&nbsp;David Einhorn <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/11/42087680/billionaire-investor-david-einhorn-calls-it-most-expensive-market-of-all-time-as-sp-500-gains-4-since-trumps-win-really-really-pricey">characterized the market as &#8220;really, really, really pricey,&#8221;</a> noting that the Shiller cyclically adjusted price-to-earnings ratio is at one of the highest levels in a century.
Despite these high valuations, Einhorn clarified that this does not make him bearish, as asset prices can remain mispriced for extended periods.

U.S. stock futures tumbled on Friday in premarket hours after a mixed Thursday. All four index futures slipped in trade.
While the S&amp;P 500 index is on its way to registering a robust 20% plus return for the second consecutive year in 2024 it ended lower on the second day of the Santa rally after advancing 1.1% on Christmas Eve. Analysts say that the full &#8216;Santa Claus Rally&#8217; has never been lower.
The 10-year and two-year Treasury notes yielded 4.61% and 4.33%, respectively. The probability of having no change in the interest rates for the upcoming Jan. 31, 2025 decision was at 89.3%, down from 91.4% a week ago, according <a href="https://www.cmegroup.com/markets/interest-rates/cme-fedwatch-tool.html">to</a> CME Group&#8217;s FedWatch tool.

Cues From The Last Session
U.S. stock markets closed mixed on Thursday, following a Christmas break. The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/12/42697989/dow-edges-higher-in-thin-holiday-trading-fear-declines-among-us-investors-but-fear-greed-index-remains-in-fear-zone">higher</a>, while the S&amp;P 500 and Nasdaq Composite dipped slightly.
Month-to-date performance varied across indices. The Nasdaq significantly outperformed, driven by strong gains in Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>), while the Dow Jones experienced a decline of around 3.5%. The S&amp;P 500 saw a modest gain of 0.1%.
Economic data released on Thursday showed a slight decrease in initial jobless claims, coming in below market expectations. This suggests a continued strong labor market.
Sector performance was mixed. Healthcare, financial, and real estate sectors led gains, while consumer discretionary and communication services sectors underperformed.

Louis Navellier of Navellier &amp; Associates in his daily market commentary said, &#8220;The Fed may be turning its attention to inflation, according to Fed Chairman Jerome Powell's comments, but if continuing unemployment claims continue to rise, it will likely get the Fed's attention and encourage more key interest rate cuts.&#8221;
&#8220;Continuing unemployment claims rose to 1.91 million in the latest week, which represents the highest level in more than three years. New unemployment claims came in at 219,000, which was a bit lower than the four-week moving average of 226,500,&#8221; he added.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co&#8217;s (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSM#NYSE">TSM</a>) investment in Kaohsiung has been pivotal in driving the city&#8217;s development, the Taipei Times <a target="_blank" href="https://www.taipeitimes.com/News/biz/archives/2024/12/27/2003829174" rel="noreferrer noopener">cites</a> from Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai&#8217;s interview on Monday.
The Taiwanese contract chipmaker targets five factories in Kaohsiung, a heavy industrial city.
The first plant will likely start commercializing by 2025 or 2026, six months ahead of schedule, as the company ramps up its production of advanced technology chips in Taiwan.

The chipmaker&#8217;s initiatives have prompted the city government to set up four water recycling plants and ultra-high-voltage substation facilities in the Nanzih Technology Industrial Park to ensure a stable water and power supply.
Chen said that, in addition, Kaohsiung is building a new provincial highway and interchanges connecting Freeway No. 1 to boost Taiwan Semiconductor&#8217;s transportation network.
Chen said that semiconductor companies in Kaohsiung, Tainan, Chiayi County, and Pingtung County will all be nearby, which will help drive industry integration.
The company also remains committed to its geographical diversification efforts to help countries consolidate their semiconductor base.
In December,&nbsp;Taiwan Semiconductor showcased its <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/media/24/12/42514266/taiwan-semiconductor-unveils-20-billion-arizona-chip-fab-apple-named-key-customer" rel="noreferrer noopener">advanced chip fabrication plant</a> debut&nbsp;in Arizona, with Apple Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) as its leading customer.
The project value has surged from $12 billion to $20 billion. The company plans to build two additional fabs on the site by the end of the decade, bringing the total investment to $65 billion.
International Data Corp&nbsp;expects&nbsp;Taiwan Semiconductor&nbsp;to&nbsp;command a 67%&nbsp;share of the global foundry market in 2025 as its&nbsp;AI&nbsp;and crypto technologies gain traction.
Taiwan Semiconductor stock has gained 100% year-to-date.
