1. Nexa Resources (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NEXA#NYSE">NEXA</a>) announced the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/mining">suspension of mining operations</a> at the Morro Agudo Complex in Minas Gerais, Brazil, starting May 1, 2024. 
Mining activities will slow until the end of April 2024, while limestone production continues at full capacity.&nbsp;
In 2023, Morro Agudo produced 23 karats of zinc and 8.3 karats of lead, with no estimated mineral reserves.&nbsp;
The Ambrósia mine reached the end of its life in late 2020 and operations have since been suspended as part of Nexa&#8217;s strategy to optimize its portfolio, improve cash flow and maximize shareholder value.&nbsp;
The Morro Agudo Complex contributes 5% and 6% to Nexa&#8217;s monthly zinc and lead production, respectively, and the 2024 financial outlook for Nexa remains unchanged.

The offering reported on Monday was <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/03/37456026/whats-going-on-with-mp-materials-stock-today">increased from $500 million</a>, and is set to close on March 7, 2024.

Golden Minerals shares are trading lower after the company announced it stopped mining operations at its Velardeña Properties.

Golden Minerals Company ("Golden Minerals," "Golden" or the "Company") (TSX:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AUMN#TSX">AUMN</a>) has announced that it has elected to stop operations at its Velardeña Properties, located in Durango State, Mexico.
The Company restarted mining operations at Velardeña in late December 2023, with the goal of progressively increasing production at the mine during the first half of 2024 until it achieved positive cash flow. The initial performance of the mine and processing plant during the course of the initial several months of production has not achieved the results projected by the Company. In light of the Company's decision to cease mining operations, the Company intends to evaluate potential alternatives for the Velardeña Properties, which may include a sale of properties or winding up of certain of the Company's Mexico operations.

2. Golden Minerals Company (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/aumn#NYSE">AUMN</a>) announced that it began silver-gold mining operations at its Velarde&ntilde;a Properties in Mexico.
The company started mining six stopes and will steadily increase production to roughly 150 tons per day in March and approximately 325 tons per day in Q2.
The news follows an announcement in November that the Velarde&ntilde;a Properties began producing gold-rich pyrite flotation concentrates from material that had been stockpiled at the end of 2015.
3. Ramaco Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/metc#NASDAQ">METC</a>) announced that it hired Dr. Alex Moyes as director of Critical Minerals and Planning to oversee its rare earth element operations and manage the geological and chemical assessment at Ramaco&#39;s Brook Mine in Wyoming.
Last year, the company said the mine could contain the largest unconventional deposit of rare earth elements discovered in the United States, and initial findings determined that it contains high concentrations of heavy and medium magnetic rare earth elements.
