Mongeau, who has over 25 years&#8217; experience as a senior executive, has most recently served as the CEO of North America&#8217;s e-commerce provider for residential and commercial furniture ESolutions Furniture, formerly Bestar-Bush. Mongeau joined Canopy as an observer in early 2023 and as a board member in Feb. 2024.

The company&#8217;s revenue declined 10% year-on-year to $2.44 billion, beating the analyst consensus estimate of $2.40 billion. Adjusted EPS of $1.67 beat the&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">analyst consensus estimate of $1.64</a>.

Analog Devices&#8217;&nbsp;Industrial revenue declined&nbsp;by 21% Y/Y&nbsp;to $1.07 billion. Automotive&nbsp;revenue decreased 2%&nbsp;Y/Y&nbsp;to $716.96 million.
Communications revenue declined by 18% to $275.57 million, and Consumer revenue increased by 31% to $379.69 million.
The adjusted gross margin declined by 230 bps to 67.9% as lower revenue weighed on the profits. The adjusted operating margin fell by 360 bps to 41.1%.
Analog Devices held $2.36 billion in cash and equivalents&nbsp;as of November 2, 2024, generating $1.05 billion in operating cash flow.
According to CEO and Chair Vincent Roche, Analog Devices reported revenue, profitability, and earnings per share exceeding its midpoint guidance, reflecting strong business momentum and effective execution. Despite unprecedented inventory challenges leading to a historic revenue decline in fiscal 2024, the company maintained operating margins above 40%, showcasing the resilience of its business model.
Analog Devices&#8217; quarterly cash dividend of $0.92 per outstanding share of common stock will be paid on December 20 to all shareholders of record at the close of business on December 9.

Millennials are having fewer children than their parents did. While that might <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/07/39674955/millennials-slated-to-be-the-richest-generation-in-history-but-they-are-very-ill-prepared-how-wi">work for their personal budgets,</a> experts warn it could drag the economy down for decades.
James Pomeroy, a global economist at HSBC, paints a grim picture. &#8220;What you&#8217;re talking about is these birth rates dropping to very, very low levels, which over the course of time has huge impacts on the economy,&#8221; he told Business Insider. The U.S. birthrate has fallen dramatically – <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/vsrr/vsrr028.pdf">just 11.1 births per 1,000 people</a> in 2022, a 53% drop from 1960. And it's still dropping, around 2% each year.

Why do fewer kids mean trouble? Lower birthrates mean fewer workers in the economy. That has a ripple effect. Todd Buchholz, a former White House economist, explains the challenges. &#8220;You find it more difficult to find somebody to cut your hair, do your nails, work on, set up the X-ray machines at the hospital,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The sheer decrease in the number of people … becomes a problem.&#8221;
Social Security is another big issue. By 2029, all baby boomers will be 65 or older, putting massive pressure on Medicare and Social Security. According to Buchholz, in the 1930s, there were 20 workers for every retiree. If trends continue, Buchholz says the ratio could drop to two workers per retiree. &#8220;That is simply not sustainable,&#8221; he warns.
The cost of living is a major factor for millennials. From housing to education, everything is more expensive. Some millennials are opting out of parenthood entirely. Many are part of the DINK (dual income, no kids) lifestyle, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/real-estate/24/11/41700720/better-off-redfin-survey-reveals-69-of-millennial-and-gen-z-homeowners-see-wealth-surge-compared-to">choosing to spend their money</a> on vacations, hobbies and luxuries instead of raising children.
Pomeroy says cultural attitudes also play a role. &#8220;I think it&#8217;s a net negative to have fewer children when the choice is between having a child and investing in a new Sony PlayStation,&#8221; he said.
Buchholz agrees, adding that society needs a mindset shift. He suggests reframing the narrative around children. &#8220;People who have children feel that they live more than once,&#8221; he said, highlighting the fulfillment that family can bring.
So what's next? Fixing this problem won't be easy. Government policies like housing reforms or financial incentives could help. But experts say it'll take a long time to see results. America faces a future with fewer kids, fewer workers and tough economic challenges ahead.

Semtech Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SMTC#NASDAQ">SMTC</a>) reported better-than-expected third-quarter financial results and issued fourth-quarter guidance with its <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/SMTC/earnings">midpoint above estimates</a>.
Semtech reported quarterly earnings of 26 cents per share which beat the analyst consensus estimate of 23 cents per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $236.80 million which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $232.06 million.
&#8220;We are very pleased to report broad-based growth across each of our end markets, and particularly in data center, where we project AI-driven product demand to be a long-term and transformational growth engine for Semtech. Our results validate that our customers and target markets are moving toward us and highlight the effectiveness of our initiatives to drive market share gain and SAM expansion,&#8221; said Hong Hou, Semtech&#8217;s president and chief executive officer. &#8220;I believe we have achieved multi-generational roadmap alignment with customers and aspire to become the partner of choice for key technical and product solutions we provide.&#8221;
Semtech shares gained 5% to close at $53.44 on Monday.

Eli Lilly And Co (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LLY#NYSE">LLY</a>) shares are trading higher Tuesday after the Biden-Harris Administration proposed a new rule to expand coverage of anti-obesity medications for Americans with <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/wiim/24/11/42186510/novo-nordisk-and-eli-lilly-shares-are-trading-higher-after-the-biden-harris-administration-proposed">Medicare and Medicaid</a>.
What Happened: The government has proposed a new rule to expand access to medications for obesity. In a statement released Monday, the Biden-Harris Administration said Medicare coverage would reduce out-of-pocket costs for these prescription drugs by as much as 95% for some enrollees. Approximately 4 million Medicaid enrollees would also gain access to these medications.
&#8220;The President is proud of the fact that the Inflation Reduction Act allows Medicare to negotiate down the price of drugs, a tool that will help Medicare lower the cost of some of the most expensive medications in the program.&nbsp; That power to negotiate drug prices is critical because Americans pay two to three times more than people in other countries for their prescription drugs,&#8221; the White House said in a statement.
The move is part of the Biden-Harris Administration's&nbsp;national strategy on Hunger, Nutrition and Health&nbsp;focused on ending hunger and reducing diet-related diseases such as obesity.&nbsp;
The anti-obesity drug market has expanded in recent years with FDA approval for a new class of drugs like&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/11/42039286/eli-lillys-zepbound-mounjaro-shows-cardiovascular-benefits-in-patients-with-obesity-related-heart-failure">Eli Lilly's Zepbound</a>, which can cost close to $1,000 per month for those paying out-of-pocket. 
One of the main parts of the Biden-Harris Administration&#8217;s strategy involves recognizing the opportunity within Medicare and Medicaid to support access to nutritious foods, obesity counseling and other nutrition-related services.&nbsp;
&#8220;Obesity is a multi-faceted disease and we need to work on all levels from prevention to treatment to address this persistent challenge,&#8221; the White House said.
Eli Lilly&#8217;s Zepbound generated $1.26 billion in sales for the company in its most recent quarter. Eli Lilly said Mounjaro and Zepbound sales in&nbsp;the third quarter&nbsp;were negatively impacted by inventory decreases in the wholesaler channel.&nbsp;

Binance founder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao on Tuesday voiced concerns about the current <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/top-meme-coins">state of meme coins</a>, calling their proliferation &#8220;a little weird.&#8221;
What Happened: In a tweet, Zhao clarified he isn't against memes but urged the crypto community to focus on building meaningful blockchain applications.
"Let's build real applications using blockchain," he <a href="https://x.com/cz_binance/status/1861306581758976434">wrote</a>.
Zhao's remarks come amid growing scrutiny of platforms like Pump.fun, which have simplified the process of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42171439/solana-meme-coin-platform-pump-fun-faces-backlash-over-scandalous-livestreams-but-polymarket-traders-arent-convinced-theyll-go-dark">creating and launching meme coins</a>.
These platforms allow anyone to mint tokens in minutes without requiring identity verification, making them a hotbed for scams and exploitation. 
While designed to attract attention through features like live-streamed token launches, these tools have reportedly spiraled into disturbing displays of violence, fraud, and even animal abuse.
With little to no accountability, such platforms have created fertile ground for exploitation, leaving unsuspecting retail investors at the mercy of bad actors.
A recent report by CoinWire shed further light on the<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42169183/dont-get-fooled-by-the-success-of-dogecoin-shiba-inu-76-of-x-twitter-influencers-promote-dead-meme-coins-study-reveals"> risks associated with meme coins</a>.
Analyzing over 1,500 meme coins promoted by 377 influencers on X (formerly Twitter), the study found that 76% of these tokens eventually become &#8220;dead,&#8221; meaning they lose 90% or more of their value within three months of promotion.
While established meme coins like Dogecoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/doge/usd">DOGE</a>) and Shiba Inu (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/doge/usd">DOGE</a>) have maintained liquidity and market relevance, the majority of promoted meme coins fail to replicate this success.

Only 3% of tokens managed to deliver the coveted 10x returns often promised by influencers, with larger influencers faring even worse—tokens they promoted delivered an average negative return of 89% within three months.
Zhao's comments align with a growing push within the crypto community for more responsible behavior from platforms and influencers. 
Eric Chen, CEO and co-founder of Injective Labs, noted that influencers in the crypto space span a wide range of strategies, from promoting speculative tokens to offering more qualitative insights.
"While some influencers undoubtedly engage in questionable promotions, it's important not to generalize their actions to the entire community," Chen told Benzinga. 
He emphasized that token performance depends on multiple factors, including broader market sentiment, whale activity, and retail investor participation. 
However, Chen cautioned that influencers wield significant power over market trends and should act responsibly.
