To pursue its goal, the fund normally invests substantially all of its assets in equity securities comprising the Solactive GBS United States 400 Index TR (index). Under normal circumstances, the fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets, plus any borrowings for investment purposes, in equity securities of medium-capitalization U.S. companies, ETFs providing exposure to such securities, and derivatives with economic characteristics similar to such securities. We performed a screening of mid-cap ETFs - defined as having Assets Under Management (AUM) between $2 billion and $10 billion - to determine what funds had the largest change in net assets on the week, according to data from etfdb.com. Only non-leveraged funds were considered. 

Designed to provide broad exposure to the Mid Cap Blend segment of the US equity market, the BNY Mellon US Mid Cap Core Equity ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BKMC#NYSE">BKMC</a>) is a passively managed exchange traded fund launched on 04/09/2020.

The fund is sponsored by Bny Mellon. It has amassed assets over $495.10 million, making it one of the average sized ETFs attempting to match the Mid Cap Blend segment of the US equity market.

<h2>Why Mid Cap Blend</h2>

Compared to large and small cap companies, mid cap businesses tend to have higher growth prospects and are less volatile, respectively, with market capitalization between $2 billion and $10 billion. Thus, companies that fall under this category provide a stable and growth-heavy investment.

Blend ETFs are aptly named, since they tend to hold a mix of growth and value stocks, as well as show characteristics of both kinds of equities.

BKMC seeks to match the performance of the MORNINGSTAR U.S. MID CAP INDEX before fees and expenses. The Morningstar US Mid Cap Index is a float-adjusted market capitalization weighted index designed to measure the performance of U.S. medium-capitalization stocks.
