In contrast, Medpace raised its full-year 2024 earnings outlook from a range of $10.79 to $11.47 per share to a new range of $11.24 to $11.93 per share versus estimates of $11.25 per share.

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) is under scrutiny again due to the intensity of a battery fire and the potential <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/pollution">spread of hazardous materials</a>.
What Happened: A Tesla vehicle burst into flames at a &#8220;Supercharger&#8221; station in Pennsylvania earlier this month.
The car proceeded to melt, resulting in a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/top-stories/24/06/39274483/elon-musk-alright-sure-to-potential-avoid-highways-navigation-feature">temporary road closure</a>, according to a <a href="https://www.pcmag.com/news/tesla-catches-fire-burns-to-a-crisp-at-supercharging-station">report</a> from PCMag. 
When firefighters arrived, they targeted the fire using a nearby hydrant. After most of the fire was extinguished, first responders began the cooling process of the vehicle&#8217;s battery.
&#8220;These are not easy fires to put out, and the hazmat concerns they pose are difficult to mitigate,&#8221; the Upper Allen Fire Department reportedly said.

Why It Matters: This isn&#8217;t the first time a Tesla-related fire has been reported. In June, a Tesla charger seemingly malfunctioned and set the home of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/sports/24/06/39536942/tesla-charger-blamed-for-house-fire-by-nfl-players-wife-lucky-to-be-alive">NFL star Randall Cobb ablaze</a>.
In September, a Tesla owner told Business Insider that his Model Y suddenly began shaking and, after pulling over, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/23/05/32539341/model-y-burst-into-flames-on-side-of-the-road-tesla-told-owner-to-bring-fully-burned-vehicle-to-serv">burst into flames</a>.

At the time, Tesla found itself under the scanner of the U.S. federal transport regulator — the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration — due to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/government/22/05/27435318/brand-new-tesla-model-y-that-caught-fire-in-canada-reportedly-receives-nhsta-scrutiny">quality issues with its cars</a>.
In the case of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/electric-vehicles">EVs</a>, the battery chemistry can cause the vehicle to enter into a phenomenon known as thermal runaway. This is when the battery cells begin self-heating and consume more oxygen, which can cause the flames to reignite repeatedly. 
Battery fires can also reportedly burn up to 1,000 degrees hotter than gas or diesel engine fires.
This latest Tesla fire, however, is particularly concerning given that it took place while the vehicle was charging. 
The exact cause of the fire has not been made public. Images from the scene appear to show that multiple Superchargers were damaged by the flames. 
Contrary to popular belief, EVs are <a href="https://www.topgear.com/car-news/mythbusting-evs/mythbusting-world-evs-are-electric-cars-susceptible-catching-fire">less prone</a> to fires compared to conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. 
According to the National Fire Protection Agency, there are about 25 fires per year for every 100,000 electric vehicles. In contrast, there are more than 1,500 fires per year for every 100,000 ICE vehicles. It&#8217;s important to note that this data may be skewed since the average age of EVs is significantly lower than that of ICE vehicles.

This marked the first time that Israel has attacked inside Yemen.

The Houthis said they fired more missiles toward Israel after an attack occurred near Hodeidah Port. Houthis promised a response that would be &#8220;huge and great&#8221; against Israel.
Israel&#8217;s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel attacked the port because Iran used it to bring arms into Yemen.
"The port we attacked&nbsp;is&nbsp;not&nbsp;an innocent port. It was used for military purposes, it was used as an entry point for deadly weapons supplied to the Houthis&nbsp;by Iran," Netanyahu said in a statement on Saturday.
Houthi spokesperson Mohammed Abdulsalam criticized the attack as "brutal Israeli aggression" against Yemen.
Netanyahu also said the operation, which hit targets 1,118 miles from&nbsp;Israel's borders, showed&nbsp;Israel&nbsp;was&nbsp;serious about responding to threats.
"It makes it clear to our enemies that there is no place that the long arm of the State of Israel will not reach," Netanyahu said.
Why It Matters: The development comes just as Netanyahu prepares for tense meetings in Washington, D.C. to urge the Biden administration and Congress to support Israel&#8217;s war effort.

Nucor Shares Climb Following Q2 Results: What To Know

Based on the Company&#39;s closing stock price on July 22, 2024, the program, if fully completed, would encompass 257,095 shares, or approximately&nbsp;$6.0 million&nbsp;of shares currently outstanding.
The repurchase program will terminate on July 25, 2025, regardless of whether all shares have been purchased.

An analyst says sports betting company DraftKings Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DKNG#NASDAQ">DKNG</a>) could have a challenging second quarter report, but remains optimistic ahead of the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/nfl">2024 NFL season.</a>
The DraftKings Analyst: Bank of America analyst Shaun C. Kelley reiterated a Buy rating on DraftKings and lowered the price target from $54 to $50.

The Analyst Takeaways: Near-term pressure and a potential second-quarter earnings miss could prove difficult for DraftKings, Kelley said.
The analyst lowers Q2 EBITDA estimates to $130 million, compared to guidance of $150 million from the company.
"We think a 2Q miss is expected by investors, and think focus will be on the 2024 guide and outlook for customer acquisition," Kelley said.
DraftKings reports second quarter financial results after market close on Aug. 1.
The analyst said key questions ahead of the earnings report include customer acquisition, gross margins in the sports betting sector and any changes to forward EBITDA guidance.
Another key concern ahead of the earnings report is DraftKings' competitor FanDuel, which is a unit of Flutter Entertainment (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FLUT#NYSE">FLUT</a>). The report shows a Q2 online sports betting market share of 33% for DraftKings versus FanDuel's 45%. In the first quarter, DraftKings trailed FanDuel 36% to 44%.
Conservative guidance of 30% EBITDA flow-through is cited as a reason the analyst is cautious on DraftKings going forward. However, the analyst believes DraftKings can have higher flow-through than its competitors.
Kelley believes FanDuel could have improved in the second quarter with strength tied to NBA betting. For DraftKings, its strong presence in the NFL betting segment could help power the second half of the fiscal year.
"We think DKNG is still well-positioned to execute during 2H and NFL season where it tends to excel, and see both easier hold comps ahead and strong handle share growth in Q2 as positive signs."
DKNG Price Action: DraftKings shares were down 0.24% to $36.84 on Monday, versus a 52-week trading range of $25.41 to $49.57. DraftKings shares are up 19.3% over the last year.
