At the JPMorgan Healthcare Conference, the European healthcare giant noted there will be significant launch opportunities in respiratory and oncology.

When asked about the change in administration in the U.S., GSK CEO Emma Walmsley said, "Let's wait and see.&#8221;
&#8220;There is categorically no better return on healthcare budgets and no better intervention in public health—and stopping disease before it starts—than keeping people out of the hospital&#8230;We need to run toward these conversations with transparency and trust,&#8221; Walmsley added.
Walmsley noted that GSK invested another $800 million in a Pennsylvania manufacturing for medicines and vaccines. 
&#8220;We've got 15,000 people here,&#8221; Walmsley said. &#8220;The majority of our business development business is still here in some the most exciting cities for innovation. So we're all in on the U.S."
Just before the conference, GSK agreed to acquire&nbsp;IDRx, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on precision therapeutics for&nbsp;gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/42950025/gsk-to-buy-us-based-stomach-cancer-drug-developer-for-over-1-billion" rel="noreferrer noopener">for $1 billion</a>.

Biden Bids Farewell: Biden wrote, "It has been the privilege of my life to serve this nation" in his farewell letter, echoing similar thoughts when he announced<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/politics/24/07/39874057/biden-drops-out-of-2024-race-in-bombshell-announcement-it-has-been-the-greatest-honor-of-my-life"> his surprising exit</a> from the 2024 presidential election.
"Four years ago, we stood in a winter of peril and winter of possibilities. We were in the grip of the worst pandemic in a century, the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, and the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War," Biden said in the <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2025/01/15/the-biden-harris-administration-record/">letter</a>.

Manufacturing, science, semiconductors and health care were industries highlighted in the farewell letter, showing American prosperity.
"America is an idea stronger than any army and larger than any ocean. It's the most powerful idea in the history of the world." &nbsp;
Biden's farewell letter was accompanied by a list of accomplishments and progress made over the last four years by the president and Vice President Kamala Harris.
"I have given my heart and my soul to our nation. And I have been blessed a million times in return with the love and support of the American people."

NXP Semiconductors N.V. In addition to advancing R&amp;D in power electronics, microprocessors, and microcontrollers, NXP will prioritize improving the energy efficiency of its devices.
Maarten Dirkzwager, Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at NXP, said, &#8220;This loan complements the various existing instruments supporting our industry, such as the Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) and other initiatives currently being set up by the European Commission and the Member States.&#8221;

BMO Capital analyst Brian Pitz maintained Netflix Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NFLX#NASDAQ">NFLX</a>) with an Outperform and raised the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/NFLX/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">price target from&nbsp;$825&nbsp;to&nbsp;$1000</a>.
Netflix has 70 million advertising-based video-on-demand (AVOD) monthly active users (MAUs) (versus 40 million in May).
Pitz estimates Netflix will have 90 million AVOD monthly active users by the end of 2025. 
AVOD monetization is gaining traction among Brand advertisers, with SMBs to come given revamped programmatic capabilities.

WWE on Netflix <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/25/01/42827316/netflix-brings-wwe-monday-night-raw-to-streaming-starting-january-6" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">began on Jan. 6</a> and should result in significant engagement improvement compared to Peacock (Pitz estimates 2-3 times engagement improvement).
Pricing remains an optionality for both Standard and Premium tiers in 2025.
Pitz raised her end-2025E AVOD users to 90 million (versus 70 million MAU in the fourth quarter of 2024E) from 60 million following successful live events in the fourth quarter of 2024E and the beginning of WWE in the first quarter of 2025E with upside potential from Women&#8217;s World Cup Soccer in 2027 and unannounced content.
With ~180 billion hours viewed (2 hours per user per day), Pitz estimated Netflix would exit 2025E with just 4.5 ads per hour per member.
Pitz channel checks indicate that AVOD monetization is gaining traction.
Content initiatives are producing massive viewership. For example, Squid Games 2 debuted with 68 million views in one week, while Tyson/Paul generated 108 million live viewers and an estimated 125 million (live+1). The inaugural Raw episode attracted a 116% increase in U.S. viewers versus 2024E audience levels. 
Pitz expects the Women&#8217;s World Cup to be a hit, which ensures attractive ROAS across multiple verticals. Netflix Standard and YouTube Premium pricing have been in line for nearly 10 years, while YouTube TV and Netflix Premium remain 2-7 times below Cable TV pricing.
CTV pricing levers should continue for several years.
Pitz&#8217;s 2025E revenue is mainly unchanged at 12% growth (guidance is 11-13%). The analyst modeled 2026E revenue of $48.7 billion and ~30% operating income margins.

LRE (Leeward Renewable Energy), a leading American renewable energy company, today announced over 700-megawatt alternating current (MWac) of renewable energy projects in Oklahoma that are supported in part by long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Google.
These projects are strategically sited to support Google's data center operations and leadership in artificial intelligence (AI). They will bolster the reliability of Oklahoma's electric grid by adding renewable capacity that improves stability and diversifies the energy mix, while also supporting national energy independence. This collaboration reinforces LRE's commitment to delivering innovative solutions that address the evolving energy needs of its partners and the communities where its projects are based.
Construction has begun on the 372-MWac Mayes County Solar Portfolio, located just within one mile from Google's data center in Pryor, Oklahoma. Together with the Twelvemile Solar Project 1 &amp; 2 (152.5 MWac) and the Twelvemile 3 Solar Project (200 MWac), located in Southern Oklahoma, these projects total 724 MWac of solar capacity in Oklahoma.
LRE purchased the Mayes County Solar Portfolio earlier this year from Red River Renewable Energy, LLC ("Red River"), a joint venture between SunChase Power, LLC ("SunChase") and Eolian, L.P. The energy generated by the solar portfolio is delivered under firm transmission service to the Grand River Dam Authority ("GRDA"). GRDA plans to utilize the clean energy produced by the projects to support operations at Google's data center.
