Piper Sandler: Bumble delivered <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/social-media/25/02/43797993/bumble-shares-drop-after-q4-report-heres-why" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">fourth-quarter results</a> slightly ahead of expectations. However, management provided first-quarter guidance below expectations and did not provide a full-year outlook. The company&#8217;s focus on safety and user experience creates a near-term headwind on the business.
Bumble anticipates a ~110K sequential decline in Bumble app payers in the first quarter. Overall, it is clear that the multi-quarter turnaround will be choppy as the company focuses on enhancing the platform for the long term.
Farrell sought signs of sustained stability before getting more constructive on the story. The price target revision reflects the analyst&#8217;s lower profitability estimates. Farrell projected first-quarter revenue of $245.1 million and EPS of $0.18.
Stifel: Bumble reported a slightly better fourth quarter but guided the first quarter below the Street as the company continues to work through management turnover and a broad-ranging app refresh. The Fruitz and Official apps are winding down as management opts to streamline its core product offerings.
The priorities for Bumble are pretty similar to that of its larger competitor, Match Group, which is also focused on a healthier ecosystem that looks to prioritize safety and authenticity, which Kelley agreed should be a main focus for every company in the category, but also noted these shared priorities will increasingly make it challenging for dating apps to differentiate their offerings in the future.
With only a first-quarter guide in hand and little color for the entire year, the analyst remains Hold-rated pending a better picture of the path forward. Kelley projected first-quarter revenue of $245.0 million and EPS of $0.15.

Jiang noted that search engines globally are facing ongoing debates about rising competition from Chatbot as new user gateways, yet indicated that Baidu&#8217;s decision to make its ERNIE Bot free should help to level the playing field.&nbsp;&nbsp;
On the monetization front, the analyst noted that the company will prioritize user experience but nevertheless sees viable monetization opportunities, especially in Agent.
AI Agent&#8217;s strength in mastering complex, non-standardized service portfolios is conducive to transaction-based verticals, which Baidu has largely exposed to.
In light of anticipated monetization in the second half, Jiang left his fiscal 2025 core ad growth projection unchanged at flat.
Baidu plans to focus on scaling its domestic robotaxi operations, exploring asset-light operating models, and expanding its international presence.
While Apollo Go operates at a comparable scale as Waymo in terms of quarterly rides completed, there&#8217;s minimal or no asset value reflected in the stock, which the analyst noted presents an attractive optionality for investors; admittedly, valuation catalysts remain to be materialized. Regarding capital allocation, Baidu is committed to advancing its AI capabilities and has pledged to accelerate its buyback program in fiscal 2025 to enhance shareholder returns.
Jiang projected fiscal 2025 revenue of $19.033 billion and EPS of $11.81. He expects fiscal 2026 revenue of $20.098 billion and EPS of $12.95.

Baidu's AI Cloud, Robotaxi Growth And Accelerated Buybacks Position It For Strong 2025: Analyst

Mitsui &amp; Co. (OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MITSY#OTC">MITSY</a>) has announced an acquisition of a 40% stake in the Rhodes Ridge iron-ore project in Australia. <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/japan?page=6">The Japanese conglomerate</a>, in which Warren Buffett holds an 8% stake, will acquire a 25% stake from VOC Group for $3.34 billion and a 15% stake from AMB Holdings for $2 billion.
Following the transaction, AMB Holdings <a href="https://www.mitsui.com/jp/en/release/2025/1250897_14855.html">will retain a 10% stake</a>, while Rio Tinto remains the project's operator with a 50% interest.
"The project is in Western Australia, where we have been involved in mining development since the 1960s and have the most expertise. It will further strengthen our business foundation," CEO Kenichi Hori said per Reuters.
Located in the mining-oriented Pilbara region, Rhodes Ridge is one of the world's largest undeveloped iron-ore deposits, with an estimated 6.8 billion tons of mineral resources. The full feasibility study will follow after the completion of the pre-feasibility stage later this year.
Rio Tinto <a href="https://www.riotinto.com/en/news/releases/2025/rio-tinto-notes-mitsui-has-agreed-to-join-rhodes-ridge-joint-venture">welcomed Mitsui's involvement,</a> citing their longstanding partnership in the Robe River joint venture located in the same region. The new mine will benefit from its proximity to existing infrastructure, including rail networks and port facilities, which will help lower capital expenditures and operational risks.&nbsp;
The British-Australian mining leader anticipates its first production at Rhodes Ridge in 2030, with an initial output of 40 million tons annually. Thus, Mitsui's 40% stake will entitle it to a share of 16 million tons at the outset, eventually exceeding 40 million tons as production ramps up. The company plans to integrate Rhodes Ridge output into its existing iron ore portfolio, which includes investments in Brazilian miner Vale and other joint ventures with Rio Tinto and BHP.
This investment aligns with Mitsui's Medium-term Management Plan 2026, prioritizing industrial business solutions and the stable supply of essential resources. The company expects the project to contribute significantly to its long-term earnings, with operating cash flow projected to increase by 100 billion yen ($659 million) initially and up to 250 billion yen after expansion.
Pending regulatory approvals, the deal is expected to close by March 2026.

Mitsui To Acquire A $5.3 Billion Stake In Major Australian Iron Ore Project

Compass, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/COMP#NYSE">COMP</a>) stock is trading higher on Wednesday after the company reported better-than-expected 2024 fiscal-year fourth-quarter sales results on Tuesday <a href="https://www.benzinga.com//node/43796931">after the market closed</a>.
The Details: Compass reported revenue of $1.38 billion, beating analysts&#8217; estimate of $1.34 billion and representing a 25% year-over-year increase. In addition, the company reported a loss of 8 cents per share inline with analysts&#8217; estimates.
Furthermore, the company reported that the quarter ended with $223.8 million in cash and cash equivalents. It also reported a free cash flow of $26.7 million adjusted EBITDA of $16.7 million.
&#8220;In the&nbsp;fourth quarter, we grew transactions by&nbsp;24.1%&nbsp;or 3.5x faster than the market where transactions grew by&nbsp;6.8%&nbsp;year-over-year,&#8221; said Robert Reffkin, Founder and CEO of Compass.
&#8220;This led to quarterly market share of&nbsp;5.06%, or an increase of 65 basis points, which is our highest year-over-year increase in market share in twelve quarters. Importantly, organic transactions&nbsp;increased by&nbsp;15.5%&nbsp;year-over-year and organic quarterly market share grew 48 basis points.&#8221;
Compass issued guidance for the 2025 fiscal-year first-quarter. It expects sales from $1.35 billion to $1.47 billion, versus analysts&#8217; estimate of $1.32 billion.

When investors look for long-term bullish S&amp;P 500 signals, they look at:
U.S CPI
U.S. interest rates
U.S. M2 supply (relatively liquid assets in the U.S economy)
This is a mistake.
Although these metrics matter, there's something we commonly forget.
Unlike most countries, the U.S. stock market is global.
German citizens rarely invest in Japanese stocks.
But many will invest in Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, etc.
When central banks print money, it enters the economy of that respective country.
A portion of that money goes to citizens who buy food, shelter, clothing, etc.
However, some of them will invest their cash into assets.
A sizable portion specifically goes into the S&amp;P or S&amp;P-included companies.
That's why, if you're investing in the S&amp;P, you can't just focus on U.S. liquidity.
You need to focus on global liquidity instead.
The problem is global liquidity is hard to measure.
Combining M2 and interest rate data from the world's central banks isn't easy.
That's why financial data platforms like Ycharts and TradingView don't have a global liquidity metric.
This is why investors typically track GL from the 5 biggest central banks.
Specifically the:
Bank of Japan
Federal Reserve
Bank of England
European Central Bank
People's Bank of China
These are the most important central banks in the world, and tracking their efforts isn't difficult.
This is where most investors go wrong, when they exclusively track the Fed's monetary policies to predict the S&amp;P's long-term outlook.
But the S&amp;P receives inflows from across the globe.
That's why the decisions of the BoJ, BoE, ECB, and PBoC collectively matter more than the Federal Reserve alone.
Thanks to the U.S. stock market&#8217;s global status, global liquidity is highly correlated.
Popular U.S. stock indexes like the NASDAQ, for example, have a 95% correlation.
Whereas the S&amp;P has an ~85% correlation.
This chart speaks volumes.

Particularly when there's particularly bullish news and the market gets excited.
Trump's election victory was a great example of this.
Politics aside, Trump has always been bullish for stocks.
The same can be said about bearish black swan events.
2008, the initial COVID scare, Yen carry trade, Deepseek, etc.
Bullish and bearish signals decouple the market from global liquidity.
But it always realigns.
It's important to remember that there's a delay between global liquidity and the stock market.
It takes time for liquidity to flow into assets and inflate prices.
Liquidity → stocks – fewer shares → lower supply → prices rise

Don't just analyze U.S. monetary policies.
Monitor the policies of the biggest central banks in the world.
With a delay, you can reliably predict the movements of major U.S. indexes.

Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/OXY#NYSE">OXY</a>) shares are moving higher on Wednesday as oil prices rise following a drone attack on a Russian pipeline, which could <a href="https://www.benzinga.com//node/43817326">weaken supply</a>.
The Details: The drone attack, which took place on Monday, targeted the Kropotkinskaya station located in Krasnodar, according to Reuters. The Kropotkinskaya station is the largest pumping station on the pipeline in Russia and is responsible for pumping about 1% of global crude oil supply.
The Caspian Pipeline Consortium oversees the pipeline and, as of Monday, has not identified those responsible for the attack. However, it confirmed that the Kropotkinskaya facility was shut down, and crude oil flow through the Tengiz-Novorossiysk pipeline system was being maintained at reduced rates, bypassing the pumping station.
Deputy chairman of Russia&#8217;s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated, &#8220;Ukrainian drones attacked a pumping station that provides oil transportation through the main oil pipeline of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. A blow to an oil consortium could stop oil pumping, unbalance the market, increase oil price spikes and cause direct damage to American companies.&#8221;
Furthermore, Medvedev said that Ukraine's attack on a pipeline partially owned by U.S. companies was a blow against President Donald Trump, who has sought lower oil prices. He added that it remained to be seen how Trump would respond.
Occidental shares may be rising following the drone attack, as reduced supply could drive up prices, potentially boosting profits. The attack may also heighten concerns over geopolitical tensions, prompting investors to buy oil stocks as a hedge against future supply uncertainty.
What Else: Occidental reported earnings for the 2024 fiscal-year fourth-quarter after the market closed on Tuesday. The company reported adjusted earnings per share of 80 cents, beating analysts&#8217; estimate of 70 cents. In addition, it reported sales of $6.83 billion, missing analysts&#8217; estimate of $7.05 billion.
Additionally, Occidental announced it achieved its near-term debt repayment target of $4.5 billion in the fourth-quarter. In the 2025 first-quarter, it signed two agreements to divest upstream assets for a combined total of $1.2 billion.

What Happened: On Tuesday, Trump said he plans <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/02/43805852/trump-shakes-global-trade-with-25-auto-chip-and-pharma-tariffs-announcement-asian-stocks-pare-their-five-day-rally">to place tariffs </a>on several sectors, including automotive, semiconductors and pharmaceuticals.
Trump said automotive tariffs would come "in the neighborhood of 25%." A report said the tariffs could come as early as April 2.
Semiconductor and pharmaceutical tariffs would also come around the 25% level and could increase throughout 2025. No date for these tariffs has been announced or planned by Trump and the White House administration.
Trump has targeted China, Canada and Mexico with tariffs or threats of tariffs since taking office in January.
Benzinga recently asked if the tariffs could impact stock market indexes like the S&amp;P 500, which is tracked by the SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPY#NYSE">SPY</a>).
"How will Trump's tariffs affect the stock market?" Benzinga asked.
The results were:

<li>Weigh down: 59%</li>
<li>Push higher: 23%</li>
<li>No real impact: 19%</li>
</ul>
The majority of respondents said Trump's tariffs will send the stock market lower. The remaining voters were split nearly even between the stock market going higher as the result of tariffs or the tariffs not having a real impact on stock market returns.

Why It's Important: Trump recently said the White House will go country by country and adjust trade relations with "fair and reciprocal" tariffs.
This process, along with targeting certain specific industries, could see stocks hurt by the impact as costs are passed on to companies and consumers for the trade wars.
&#8220;I&#8217;ve decided, for purposes of fairness, that I will charge a reciprocal tariff, meaning whatever countries charge the United States of America,&#8221; Trump said, as&nbsp;<a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/business/economy/trump-reciprocal-tariffs-what-products-countries-how-much-rcna192075" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">reported&nbsp;</a>by NBC. &#8220;In almost all cases, they&#8217;re charging us vastly more than we charge them but those days are over.&#8221;
Benzinga<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/25/02/43712690/exclusive-will-trumps-chinese-tariffs-help-or-hurt-americas-economy-54-say-this"> recently polled readers</a> to see if they think the tariffs on China will be good or bad for the American economy.
&#8220;Will Trump&#8217;s tariffs on China help or hurt the U.S. economy?&#8221; Benzinga asked.
The results were:

<li>Hurt businesses and consumers: 54%</li>
<li>Help the economy: 36%</li>
<li>No real impact: 10%</li>
</ul>
The winner of the poll was that tariffs on China will hurt businesses and consumers in America.
While Trump has called the tariff moves a way to fight the trade imbalances, other countries have threatened America with retaliatory measures like tariffs of their own or other measures. The Wall Street Journal said China was looking to target American companies with antitrust concerns. The list of companies China could target includes Nvidia, Apple, Broadcom and Alphabet.
China is now<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/25/02/43600852/china-sets-sights-on-us-tech-companies-as-trade-tensions-rise" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">&nbsp;turning its attention&nbsp;</a>to targeting American technology companies with trade relations escalating according to a new report.
The Wall Street Journal said China is looking at targeting American tech companies with antitrust concerns in the country. The list of companies China could target includes Nvidia, Apple, Broadcom and Alphabet. &nbsp;
A previous&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/etfs/broad-u-s-equity-etfs/25/01/43041374/exclusive-how-high-will-sp-500-go-under-donald-trump-in-2025-readers-are-optimistic-26-say-this" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Benzinga reader survey</a>&nbsp;asked how high investors thought the SPY could go in 2025, Trump&#8217;s first year back in the White House.
In 2017, the SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust was up 21.7%. This was the first year with Trump in office and many sectors saw gains during the year.
When asked what they thought the return of the SPY would be in 2025, these were the results:

<li>16%+: 26%</li>
<li>11% to 15%: 22%</li>
<li>Will Decline: 22%</li>
<li>6% to 10%: 19%</li>
<li>0% to 5%: 12%</li>
</ul>
The poll found that the largest percentage believed that the S&amp;P 500 Index would post gains of at least 16% in 2025. The 11% to 15% range came in second place at 22%.
It's also worth pointing out that the S&amp;P 500 decline in 2025 was tied for second in the poll at 22%. This could mean 2025 is a make-or-break year.
SPY Price Action: The SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF Trust trades at $611.79 on Wednesday versus a 52-week range of $493.56 to $611.96, a new high hit earlier in Wednesday&#8217;s trading session. The ETF is up 23.2% in the past year.

The study was conducted by Benzinga from Feb. 11, 2025 through Feb. 12, 2025. It included the responses of a diverse population of adults 18 or older. Opting into the survey was completely voluntary, with no incentives offered to potential respondents. The study reflects results from 119 adults.

Rivian's Technical Setup Signals Strength Ahead Of Q4 Earnings

Shares of nuclear components and fuel supplier BWX Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BWXT#NYSE">BWXT</a>) are<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/movers" rel="noreferrer noopener"> trading higher </a>on Wednesday.
The company has been awarded contracts totaling approximately $2.1 billion from the U.S. <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/02/b43809100/bwxt-announces-2-1-billion-in-contracts-for-naval-nuclear-reactor-components" rel="noreferrer noopener">Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program</a>.
These agreements are centered on manufacturing reactor components for the Columbia and Virginia class submarines, along with Ford class aircraft carriers.
The work will be carried out at multiple BWX Technologies facilities in Lynchburg, Virginia, Barberton and Euclid, Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Indiana, over a seven-year period beginning in 2023.

Alongside the reactor component contracts, BWX Technologies is also responsible for manufacturing nuclear fuel. This contract, valued at around $300 million, was awarded and announced in October 2023. The project is slated for completion by the end of this year.
