<p>Keep an eye on <a href="https://investorplace.com/industries/energy/renewable-energy/hydrogen/">hydrogen stocks</a> to buy on the dip.</p>



<p>For one, according to&nbsp;Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.eenews.net/articles/ceraweek-biden-admin-mounts-defense-of-clean-hydrogen/">as noted by&nbsp;<em>E&amp;E News</em></a>, the &ldquo;Treasury Department would come out with a final rule shortly referring to guidance for companies to obtain new hydrogen tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act.&rdquo;</p>



<p>Two, the hydrogen industry is arguing that the current tax credits don&rsquo;t offer enough flexibility. In fact, according to American Air Liquide chairman and CEO, Mike Graff, &ldquo;In order to get these things [the $ billion hydrogen hub programs] off the ground, we need more flexibility,&rdquo; <a href="https://news.bloomberglaw.com/health-law-and-business/hydrogen-2#">as quoted by Bloomberg Law</a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>



<p>Three, &ldquo;The credit was crafted and signed into law with the express intent of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting American industry through the scaling up of domestic hydrogen production. Producers warn, however, that its implementation could very well be derailed by counterproductive rulemaking,&rdquo; <a href="https://chamberbusinessnews.com/2024/04/02/hydrogen-producers-warn-against-new-guidance-on-45v-tax-credit/">says Chamber Business News</a>.</p>



<p>If the U.S. is serious about hydrogen production to help reduce greenhouse emissions, they&rsquo;ll take the industry warnings seriously. From here, should the Administration make the demanded changes, hydrogen stocks could soar. Believing it could happen, here are three of the top hydrogen stocks to buy on the dip.</p>



<h2><strong>Air Products and Chemicals (<strong>APD</strong>)</strong></h2>

However, after bottoming out at around $210, it&rsquo;s slowly starting to pivot higher. Last trading at $234.68, I&rsquo;d like to see the dividend-paying giant retest $270 near term. Even better, it looks like most of the earnings-induced negativity has been priced into the stock.</p>



<p>In addition, the stock has an attractive valuation with a low price-to-earnings ratio of 18. That&rsquo;s well below its five-year average by about 30%, with a yield of 3% at the moment. With a low valuation, and its role as a leader in the hydrogen space, I&rsquo;d buy and hold APD.</p>



<p>Helping, analysts at <a href="https://www.tipranks.com/news/the-fly/air-products-price-target-raised-to-285-from-260-at-citi">Citi just raised their price target on APD to $285</a> from $260 with a buy rating. Wolfe Research has an outperform rating on the stock. Bank of America also says APD is a buy with a price target of $272 a share.</p>



<h2><strong>Linde (<strong>LIN</strong>)</strong></h2>

Even RSI, MACD, and Williams&rsquo; %R are deeply over-extended in oversold territory, telling us a bounce may be nearing. Better, if you pull up a two-year chart of LIN, you&rsquo;ll see it caught support at its 50-day moving average. Furthernore, since early 2023, it&rsquo;s historically bounced after testing that moving average.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Plus, Linde was just upgraded to a buy rating with a price target of $510 by analysts over at Mizuho. &ldquo;They said the chemical maker is poised to outperform the market with its consistent earnings growth even as&nbsp;product volumes are flat,&rdquo; <a href="https://seekingalpha.com/news/4091142-linde-upgraded-at-mizuho-securities-on-earnings-growth">as noted by Seeking Alpha</a>.</p>



<p>Linde also just announced its subsidiary, White Martins will build, own, and operate a second electrolyzer to produce hydrogen in Brazil.&nbsp;</p>



<p>&ldquo;Once operational, White Martins&rsquo; new plant will supply green hydrogen to glass manufacturer Cebrace to reduce emissions from their glass melting furnaces in Jacare&iacute;. It will also meet demand for competitive green hydrogen from existing and new customers across industrial sectors including metals, food and chemicals, among others. The new plant is expected to start up in 2025,&rdquo; <a href="https://www.linde.com/news-and-media/2024/linde-to-increase-green-hydrogen-production-in-brazil">added Linde&rsquo;s press release</a>.</p>



<h2><strong>Global X Hydrogen ETF (<strong>HYDR</strong>)</strong></h2>

This one allows us to diversify with top hydrogen stocks to buy on the dip.</p>



<p>Once the hydrogen story starts to heat back up again, I&rsquo;d like to see the HYDR ETF double, even triple. With an expense ratio of&nbsp;0.5%, the ETF invests in stocks involved with hydrogen production, and the development and manufacturing of hydrogen fuel cells. Some of its top holdings include <strong>Bloom Energy</strong> (NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/be-stock-quote/"><strong>BE</strong></a>),&nbsp;<strong>Plug Power</strong> (NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/plug-stock-quote/"><strong>PLUG</strong></a>),&nbsp;<strong>Ballard Power</strong> (NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/bldp-stock-quote/"><strong>BLDP</strong></a>),&nbsp;<strong>ITM Power&nbsp;</strong>(OTCMKTS:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/itmpf-stock-quote/"><strong>ITMPF</strong></a>) and&nbsp;<strong>Ceres Power</strong>&nbsp;(OTCMKTS:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/cpwhf-stock-quote/"><strong>CPWHF</strong></a>).</p>



<p>With a good deal of excitement in hydrogen, HYDR could easily bounce well off its current lows. Helping,&nbsp;<strong>Goldman Sachs</strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Bank of America</strong>&nbsp;say hydrogen could be a $12 trillion market. And, according to the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.iea.org/reports/hydrogen">International Energy Agency</a>, global hydrogen demand will need to double from about 94Mt in 2021 to more than 180 by 2030. Moreover, Europe may need to see a six-fold increase in demand by 2050.&nbsp;</p>

3 Hydrogen Stocks to Buy on the Dip: April 2024

<p>While the hydrogen industry waits to see what&rsquo;s happening with the restrictive Section 45V tax credits, we can use current industry weakness as an opportunity with some of the best <a href="https://investorplace.com/industries/energy/renewable-energy/hydrogen/">hydrogen stocks</a> to buy.</p>



<p>As it stands now, current tax guidelines, aimed at making it cheaper to produce hydrogen, are far too strict.</p>



<p>For example, according to&nbsp;the <a href="https://cleanpower.org/news/acp-statement-on-administration-guidance-for-green-hydrogen-tax-credits/">American Clean Power Association</a>, the current rule &ldquo;fails to acknowledge the market realities of new technology deployment.&nbsp;Specifically, imposing an hourly matching provision too early for first-wave green hydrogen projects will discourage a significant majority of clean power companies from investing in green hydrogen manufacturing and facilities. ACP is encouraged to see that the Treasury Department has specifically requested comment on the adequacy of the transition schedule. The proposed timeline is a fundamental obstacle to the commercialization of green hydrogen in the U.S.&rdquo;</p>



<p>Poor earnings, sky-high interest rates and subsidy delays have also been weighing the industry down. However, with the weakness, there is opportunity in beaten-down names.</p>



<h2><strong>Linde (<strong>LIN</strong>)</strong></h2>

However, after catching support dating back to February, and becoming over-extended on RSI, MACD, and Williams&rsquo; %R, LIN is attempting to pivot higher. From its last traded price of around $423, I&rsquo;d like to see it initially refill its bearish gap at around $440.</p>



<p>Granted, the stock fell on mixed first quarter earnings, but there&rsquo;s a lot to like here. For one, its earnings per share (<span>EPS</span>) of $3.75 came in better than estimates for $3.42. Unfortunately, its operating cash flow of $1.95 billion did miss expectations for $2.46 billion.&nbsp;Moving forward, the company also expects to see second quarter EPS within a range of $3.70 to $3.80, which is 1% below expectations.&nbsp;</p>



<p>With a good chunk of negativity priced in, I&rsquo;d use weakness as an opportunity. Helping, the company just declared a quarterly dividend of $1.39 per share, which is payable on Jun. 18 to shareholders of record, as of Jun. 4. Linde is also one of the best hydrogen stocks to buy.</p>



<h2><strong>Air Products and Chemicals (<strong>APD</strong>)</strong></h2>

From there, it could easily test $272 as the hydrogen story gains momentum. Plus, as we wait for the stock to recover more lost ground, we can collect its dividend of $1.77, which is payable on May 13 to shareholders as of April 1.&rdquo;</p>



<p>That was on Mar. 18, as APD traded at about $230. And while it hasn&rsquo;t refilled that gap just yet, it did ramp up to $245.87. Plus, as we continue to wait for it to refill that bearish gap at around $260, we can collect its current yield of 2.88%.</p>



<p>In addition, while earnings and guidance were mixed, it appears most of the negativity has been priced into the rebounding stock. In its second quarter, the company posted EPS of $2.85, which beat by 15 cents. Revenues of $2.93 billion &mdash; down 8.4% year over year &mdash; did miss by $130 million. Moving forward, full-year fiscal 2024 adjusted EPS of $12.20 to $12.50 is below estimates of $12.31.&nbsp;&nbsp;Also, third quarter, EPS of $3 to $3.05 is also below estimates for $3.30.</p>



<p>Again, though, all of the negativity appears to have been priced in.</p>



<h2><strong>Global X Hydrogen ETF (<strong>HYDR</strong>)</strong></h2>

In fact, after catching support at $4.85, it&rsquo;s now up to $5.53. From here, I&rsquo;d like to see it retest $5.85 and eventually $6.40.</p>



<p>With an expense ratio of 0.5%, the ETF invests in some of thebest hydrogen stocks to buy that are involved with hydrogen production, and the development and manufacturing of hydrogen fuel cells. Some of its top holdings include <strong>Bloom Energy</strong> (NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/be-stock-quote/"><strong>BE</strong></a>),&nbsp;<strong>Plug Power</strong>&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/plug-stock-quote/"><strong>PLUG</strong></a>)&nbsp;<strong>Ballard Power</strong>&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/bldp-stock-quote/"><strong>BLDP</strong></a>),&nbsp;<strong>ITM Power</strong>&nbsp;(OTCMKTS:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/itmpf-stock-quote/"><strong>ITMPF</strong></a>) and&nbsp;<strong>Ceres Power</strong>&nbsp;(OTCMKTS:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/cpwhf-stock-quote/"><strong>CPWHF</strong></a>).</p>



<p>While its chart is nothing to write home about, give it time. With a good deal of excitement in hydrogen, HYDR could easily bounce higher again.</p>



<p>What&rsquo;s nice about an ETF like HYDR is that it offers solid exposure to multiple hydrogen names at a low cost. For example, if I wanted to buy 100 shares of HYDR, it would cost me about $552. If I were to buy just one of the ETF&rsquo;s holdings such as Linde, for example, it would cost me closer to $42,360. I&rsquo;d rather pay $552 for greater exposure.</p>

<p>The hydrogen story holds significant potential. We can see that with cheap <a href="https://investorplace.com/industries/energy/renewable-energy/hydrogen/">hydrogen stocks</a> like&nbsp;<strong>Plug Power</strong> (NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/plug-stock-quote/"><strong>PLUG</strong></a>), for example, which ran from a low of about $2.80 to $4.90.&nbsp;</p>



<p>This boom came from the news that it received a commitment for a&nbsp;<a href="https://www.utilitydive.com/news/doe-loan-plug-power-clean-hydrogen/716137/">loan guarantee of up to $1.66 billion</a>&nbsp;from the U.S. Department of Energy. That money is expected to fund about six green hydrogen production facilities across the U.S.</p>



<p>&ldquo;I think the loan kind of validates the vision,&rdquo; said Plug Chief Executive Officer Andy Marsh in an interview,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.barrons.com/articles/plug-powers-stock-price-loan-c49c115a">as noted by Barron&rsquo;s.</a> The Department of Energy &ldquo;did about two years of diligence on us.&rdquo; The first DOE-supported plant could open in Texas as soon as next year, Marsh added.</p>



<p>In addition, while the industry waits to hear about the potential easing of the 45V tax credits, we can see the pent-up demand. In addition, when things do get going, we could be looking at a potential $410.6 billion market opportunity,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.marketsandmarkets.com/PressReleases/hydrogen-market.asp">says <em>MarketsandMarkets</em></a>.</p>

<p>It traded at around $230 then. Today, it&rsquo;s up to $257.04 and it&rsquo;s still cheap. It also just refilled its bearish gap. From here, I&rsquo;d like to see it test $270 next.&nbsp;</p>



<p>With a yield of 2.75%, a good number of analysts are also bullish on the stock. Bank of America, for example, just raised its price target to $275 from $272, with a buy rating. BMO Capital raised its price target to $263 with an outperform rating. And&nbsp;<a href="https://www.tipranks.com/news/the-fly/air-products-price-target-raised-to-320-from-305-at-td-cowen">TD Cowen just raised its target</a>&nbsp;on APD to $320, with a buy rating as well.</p>



<h2>Ballard Power (BLDP)</h2>

After finding support at around $2.50, it bounced to about $3.30, where it&rsquo;s fighting overhead resistance. Now at $3.14, I&rsquo;d like to see it eventually break above $3.30, with a potential test of $4 near term.</p>



<p>Most recently, the company received orders for&nbsp;<a href="https://www.ballard.com/about-ballard/newsroom/news-releases/2024/04/16/ballard-announces-orders-for-70-hydrogen-fuel-cell-engines-for-delivery-to-wrightbus-in-2024#:~:text=VANCOUVER%2C%20CANADA%20%E2%80%93%20Ballard%20Power%20Systems,in%20the%20UK%20and%20Europe.">70 hydrogen fuel cell engines</a>&nbsp;from U.S. bus maker <strong>Wrightbus</strong>. The engines will reportedly power single- and double-decker buses in the U.K. and Germany. Delivery is expected in 2024, with buses entering into service by 2025.</p>



<p>It also&nbsp;<a href="https://www.ballard.com/about-ballard/newsroom/news-releases/2024/03/14/ballard-announces-%2440-million-in-doe-grants-to-support-build-out-of-integrated-fuel-cell-production-gigafactory-in-rockwall-texas">received $40 million in Department of Energy grants&nbsp;</a>to support its build-out of an integrated fuel cell production Gigafactory in Texas. Plus, Ballard just announced&nbsp;<a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/ballard-announces-largest-order-in-company-history--1-000-engines-to-power-solaris-buses-across-europe-302104255.html">its biggest order in company history&nbsp;</a>after signing a long-term supply agreement with&nbsp;<strong>Solaris Bus &amp; Coach&nbsp;</strong>for 1,000 hydrogen fuel cell engines for the European transit bus market.</p>



<p>Helping, analysts at Lake Street reiterated a buy rating on BLDP with a price target of $15.</p>



<h2>Global X Hydrogen ETF (HYDR)</h2>

<p>Last trading at $5.96, I&rsquo;d like to see it triple from here when hydrogen names start to take off again. According to&nbsp;Goldman Sachs and&nbsp;Bank of America, the&nbsp;hydrogen market could potentially become a&nbsp;<a href="https://www.barrons.com/articles/goldman-sachs-says-so-called-green-hydrogen-will-become-a-12-trillion-market-heres-how-to-play-it-51600860476">$12 trillion market</a>.</p>



<p>In addition,&nbsp;according to the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.iea.org/reports/hydrogen">International Energy Agency</a>, global hydrogen demand will need to double from about 94 million tons in 2021 to more than 180 million tons by 2030. Europe may need to see a six-fold increase in demand by 2050.</p>

3 Cheap Hydrogen Stocks to Buy Now: May 2024

<p>The hydrogen industry is still waiting on the Biden-Harris Administration to loosen restrictive 45V tax credits. And from the looks of it, industry executives are quickly starting to run thin on patience. </p>



<p>&ldquo;The pace of change is starting to impact project development,&rdquo; according to&nbsp;Rushabh Shah, director of U.S. Midwest Hydrogen and CCS at BP, as <a href="https://www.eenews.net/articles/clean-hydrogen-industry-slams-pace-of-biden-tax-rules/">quoted by E&amp;E News</a>. However, if and when the 45V tax issue is resolved, some of the top <a href="https://investorplace.com/industries/energy/renewable-energy/hydrogen/">hydrogen stocks</a> to buy could easily explode higher.</p>



<p>Plus, the Biden Administration could get one step closer to cutting emissions, as hoped. Remember, hydrogen &ndash; which only produces water vapor and warm air &ndash; is a key part of helping the U.S. achieve its net-zero emission goals.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Again, with hopes that 45V will be loosened, investors can use hydrogen stock weakness as an opportunity to buy. So, let&rsquo;s examine a few of the top hydrogen stocks that investors may want to consider buying today.</p>



<h2><strong>Air Products and Chemicals (<strong>APD</strong>)</strong></h2>

From there, it could easily test $272 as the hydrogen story gains momentum. As we wait for the stock to recover, we can collect its dividend of $1.77.&rdquo;</p>



<p>At the time, APD traded at $243. Today, after testing a high of $286.61, it&rsquo;s back to $272.26, where it&rsquo;s again an opportunity. Also, as investors wait for APD to test higher highs, they can collect its current yield of 2.58%. Plus, if you own the stock by July 1, you can collect its latest dividend of $1.77 by Aug. 12.</p>



<p>Also, APD is getting a boost after signing a <a href="https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/climate-energy/totalenergies-air-products-sign-deal-green-hydrogen-delivery-2024-06-07/">15-year agreement to deliver about 70,000 tons </a>per year of green hydrogen to <strong>Total Energies</strong>&rsquo; European refineries by 2030.</p>



<h2><strong>Linde (<strong>LIN</strong>)</strong></h2>

After plunging to about $412.30, it&rsquo;s slowly trending higher, last trading at $440.53. That just refills its bearish gap from late April. From that price, I&rsquo;d like to see LIN retest its $475 high from March. And, as we wait for that to happen, we can collect Linde&rsquo;s current yield of 1.26%.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Furthermore, analysts at <a href="https://www.tipranks.com/news/blurbs/bernstein-keeps-their-buy-rating-on-linde-lin">Bernstein reiterated their buy rating</a> on LIN with a price target of $525.</p>



<p>Recent earnings were okay. In fact, its earnings per share (<strong>EPS</strong>) of <a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/lin-stock-earnings-linde-for-q1-of-2024-1033320971">$3.75 came in better than estimates for $3.42</a>. Unfortunately, its operating cash flow of $1.95 billion did miss expectations for $2.46 billion.&nbsp;Moving forward, the company expects to see second-quarter EPS within a range of $3.70 to $3.80, which is 1% below expectations.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Fortunately, most of the earnings negativity has been priced into the up-trending stock.</p>



<h2><strong>Global X Hydrogen ETF (<strong>HYDR</strong>)</strong></h2>

3 Hydrogen Stocks to Buy Now: June 2024

<p>It&rsquo;s not just hydrogen industry executives who are losing patience over restrictive 45V tax credits. We&rsquo;re now learning that&nbsp;U.S. Senators Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), Mike Crapo (R-ID), Jim Risch (R-ID) and Pete Ricketts (R-NE) have also argued that the Biden administration&rsquo;s current 45V tax rule is making it difficult for U.S. hydrogen producers to qualify for tax credits.&nbsp;When and if it&rsquo;s lifted, <a href="https://investorplace.com/industries/energy/renewable-energy/hydrogen/">hydrogen stocks</a> could push higher.</p>



<p>&ldquo;With the proposed rule, the IRS and Treasury strayed far away from the simple definition of clean hydrogen,&rdquo;&nbsp;wrote the senators, <a href="https://www.cassidy.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/cassidy-republican-colleagues-condemn-new-biden-administration-rule-strangling-u-s-hydrogen/">as quoted by Cassidy.Senate.gov</a>.&nbsp;&ldquo;Significant buildout of renewable energy to support hydrogen production will surely face permitting, supply chain, and inflation issues.&rdquo;</p>



<p>If loosened,&nbsp;the Biden Administration could get one step closer to cutting emissions, as hoped. Remember, hydrogen &ndash; which only produces water vapor and warm air &ndash; is key to helping the U.S. achieve its net-zero emission goals.&nbsp;</p>



<p>With high hopes that 45V will be changed, buy some of the top hydrogen stocks today.</p>



<h2>Bloom Energy (BE)</h2>

<p>Helping analysts at RBC Capital just reiterated an outperform rating on the stock with a price target of $15. For example, the firm highlighted the&nbsp;potential for Bloom&rsquo;s fuel cell technology to meet the increasing energy demands of data center customers. Analysts at BTIG reiterated a buy rating on the stock with a price target of $21.</p>



<p>Bloom just&nbsp;<a href="https://www.datacenterdynamics.com/en/news/bloom-energy-to-provide-additional-fuel-cells-for-intel-data-center/">signed a contract</a>&nbsp;with&nbsp;<strong>Intel</strong>&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/intc-stock-quote/"><strong>INTC</strong></a></span>) to install fuel cell-based services at Intel&rsquo;s computing data center in Santa Clara, California.&nbsp;With its focus on the rapidly growing data center market, this&nbsp;should draw even more attention&nbsp;to Bloom.</p>



<p>Investors should use the latest pullback in BE shares as a buying opportunity.</p>



<h2>Plug Power (PLUG)</h2>

<p>At $2.45, PLUG now sits at triple bottom support dating back to January. It&rsquo;s also over-extended on RSI, MACD and Williams&rsquo; %R. I&rsquo;d like to see PLUG initially rally back to about $3.32 from its current price. Longer-term, I&rsquo;d like to see it rally back to $7.50.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Helping, the company said it saw a &ldquo;<a href="https://seekingalpha.com/news/4092367-plug-power-touts-substantial-advancement-in-hydrogen-generation-buildout">substantial advancement</a>&rdquo; with its plants in Georgia and Tennessee. It also noted that its Louisiana joint venture with&nbsp;<strong>Olin&nbsp;</strong>(NYSE:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/oln-stock-quote/"><strong>OLN</strong></a></span>) is on track to see mechanical completion by the end of the third quarter.&nbsp; Plus, it just signed&nbsp;<a href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2024/04/25/2869470/9619/en/Plug-Signs-Additional-BEDP-Contracts-for-a-Total-of-4-5GW-of-Electrolyzers-Across-Europe-and-the-United-States.html">two contracts</a>&nbsp;to deliver basic engineering and design packages (BEDP) for projects in Europe and the U.S.</p>



<p>PLUG also just&nbsp;won a deal for 25 megawatts (MW) of proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer systems from a European customer. &ldquo;The project will employ five of Plug&rsquo;s 5 MW containerized PEM electrolyzers to reduce the company&rsquo;s carbon footprint by using green hydrogen,&rdquo; <a href="https://www.nasdaq.com/press-release/plug-secures-25-mw-pem-electrolyzer-deal-major-european-customer-2024-06-21">added the company</a>.</p>



<p>Analysts at H.C. Wainwright are still bullish on PLUG, with a price target of $18.&nbsp;</p>

Rags to Riches: 3 Hydrogen Stocks That Could Make Early Investors Rich

<p>The hydrogen industry still waits for the Biden Administration to loosen restrictive 45V tax credit rules. Now, after about seven months, it&rsquo;s safe to say industry executives and even a few U.S. Senators are losing patience. Still, even as we wait, now is a great time to invest in some of the best <a href="https://investorplace.com/industries/energy/renewable-energy/hydrogen/">hydrogen stocks</a> on weakness.</p>



<p>We all know that when loosened, the Biden Administration could get one step closer to cutting emissions, as hoped. Hydrogen &mdash; which only produces water vapor and warm air&mdash;is key to helping the U.S. achieve its net-zero emission goals.&nbsp;</p>



<p>While most industries wait for the rules to change, companies like <strong>Plug Power </strong>(NASDAQ:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/plug-stock-quote/"><strong>PLUG</strong></a></span>) claim <a href="https://www.hydrogeninsight.com/production/plug-power-will-recognise-hydrogen-production-tax-credits-in-financial-reports-before-45v-rules-are-finalised/2-1-1668908">tax credits</a> anyway. Plus, even though the 45V tax rules have yet to be finalized, the company is pushing forward anyway, with CEO Andy Marsh confident the rules will change.</p>



<p>In addition, Plug Power once noted the current restrictive rules: &ldquo;The burdens imposed by this trio of restrictions will drastically stunt the growth of the clean hydrogen industry and prevent many promising projects from ever getting off the ground,&rdquo; <a href="https://www.hydrogeninsight.com/production/plug-power-will-recognise-hydrogen-production-tax-credits-in-financial-reports-before-45v-rules-are-finalised/2-1-1668908">as quoted by HydrogenInsight.com</a>.</p>



<p>With hopes that 45V will soon change, it&rsquo;s time to buy some of the best hydrogen stocks.</p>



<h2>Linde (LIN)</h2>

Plus, we can collect its yield as we wait for LIN to tick higher.&rdquo;</p>



<p>That was on May 20, as LIN traded at about $430. While it hasn&rsquo;t hit my target of $460 just yet, it hit a high of $446.48 before pulling back to $425, which is still a strong buy. At $425 support, not only can we pick up the LIN stock on the cheap, but we can also collect its yield of about 1.3% while waiting on its recovery.</p>



<p>Helping analysts at Mizuho raised their price target on LIN to $512 with a buy rating. As noted by <a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/06/large-and-in-charge-3-renewable-energy-stocks-promising-powerful-profits/">Investorplace contributor Terel Miles</a>, &ldquo;Linde&rsquo;s established presence and technological capabilities will drive approximately 8-10% EPS growth in FY24. This makes LIN stock one of the top renewable <a href="https://investorplace.com/industries/energy/">energy stocks</a> to snap up before the next leg higher.&rdquo;</p>



<h2>Air Products and Chemicals (APD)</h2>

<p>The oversold giant caught strong support after plunging from about $285 to $246. It&rsquo;s even oversold on RSI, MACD and Williams&rsquo; %R, which tells us the pullback is greatly overdone. Better, the last time APD became this technically oversold, it bounced from about $226 to $285. A buy opportunity again now, I&rsquo;d like to see APD initially retest $285 near term.</p>



<p>Plus, while we wait for the recovery, we can collect its $1.77 dividend, payable Aug. 12 to shareholders of record as of July 1, which gives it a current yield of 2.82%. Even better, many analysts just raised their price targets on APD.</p>



<p>Bank of America analysts just <a href="https://thefly.com/news.php?symbol=APD">raised their price target</a> to $312. Deutsche Bank raised its price target to $310. Even BMO Capital raised its price target on APD to $263 from $250, with an outperform rating.&nbsp;</p>



<p>BMO added, &ldquo;With continued pricing, a more aggressive focus on cost-cutting, no major changes on the projects, and the corp. line likely to improve with the help of greater LNG equipment, we believe the stock will start to grind higher,&rdquo; <a href="https://www.investing.com/news/company-news/air-products-stock-target-raised-on-strong-quarter-performance-93CH-3411063">as quoted by Investing.com</a>.</p>



<h2><strong>Global X Hydrogen&nbsp;ETF</strong>&nbsp;(HYDR)</h2>

<p>With an expense ratio of 0.5%, the ETF invests in stocks involved in hydrogen production, hydrogen fuel cell development and manufacturing. Some of its top holdings include Bloom Energy,&nbsp;Plug Power,&nbsp;<strong>Ballard Power</strong>&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/bldp-stock-quote/"><strong>BLDP</strong></a></span>),&nbsp;<strong>ITM Power</strong>&nbsp;(OTCMKTS:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/itmpf-stock-quote/"><strong>ITMPF</strong></a></span>) and&nbsp;<strong>Ceres Power</strong>&nbsp;(OTCMKTS:<span><a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/cpwhf-stock-quote/"><strong>CPWHF</strong></a></span>).</p>



<p>Over the last few weeks, the HYDR ETF dropped from about $34 to $25.60, which is where investors should buy on weakness. Helping, the ETF has also become oversold on RSI, MACD and Williams&rsquo; %R here. From its last traded price of $25.60, I&rsquo;d like to see a retest of $30.</p>
