What's Going On With Meta Stock?

EV giant Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) has crossed an important milestone on the way to rolling out its <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/entertainment/24/07/39870013/elon-musk-reacts-as-rapper-meek-mill-flexes-his-all-black-cybertruck-ahead-of-his-new-song-">stainless steel Cybertruck </a>in the neighboring country of Canada. 
What Happened: Canada granted the EV maker approval to use its steer-by-wire system in the country as required for testing. The technology, which does not meet the country&#8217;s specification for minimum steering angle, is only available on the company&#8217;s Cybertruck and not on any of its other offerings.
Tesla, however, will have to provide detailed semi-annual incident reports starting on January 18, the government said, while also meeting other regulatory demands.
&#8220;An important milestone on our way to Canada,&#8221; Cybertruck lead engineer Wes Morrill said about the green light from the Canadian government.

Why It Matters: The Cybertruck is the latest offering from Tesla. The company started delivering the trucks to U.S. customers in late November. 
Former Tesla executive Rohan Patel <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/02/37304997/tesla-executive-sheds-light-on-cybertruck-availability-in-canada-have-to-file-some-routine-paperwork">confirmed earlier this year</a> that Tesla will indeed sell Cybertrucks in Canada. 
"No doubt we will sell Cybertruck in Canada- insanely huge interest,"&nbsp;Patel&nbsp;wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
"Have to file some routine paperwork, but hoping that can be wrapped up soon," he added. Patel was vice president of Public Policy and Business Development at Tesla. He left the company in April. 
Tesla&#8217;s Canadian website currently shows only an option to pre-order the Cybertruck for $150.

PGA Tour golfer Scottie Scheffler is soon to compete in his first Olympic games and hopes to get a win to complement his <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/sports-betting/24/05/38897634/jailbird-ie-scottie-scheffler-snags-dave-portnoys-support-post-arrest-through-the-bowels-o">strong 2024 season.</a>
What Happened: Scheffler <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/sports-betting/24/06/39279133/2024-us-open-how-to-watch-betting-odds-key-narratives-of-scottie-scheffler-tiger-woods-phi">has been dominant</a> in the 2024 PGA Tour season, winning six tournaments, including the Players Championship and the Masters.

Why It's Important: Golf was an Olympic sport in the 1900 and 1904 games before taking a 112-year break. The sport was brought back as an Olympic sport in 2016 and this year's Olympics will be the third straight games with the competition.
The men's tournament will be <a href="https://olympics.com/en/paris-2024/schedule/golf?day=1-august">held </a>from Aug. 1 through Aug. 4 with golfers competing for individual medals. Each day's competition takes place from 3 a.m. ET to 12 p.m. ET with Comcast Corp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CMCSA#NASDAQ">CMCSA</a>) streaming the four days on Peacock.
American golfers have been dominant at the Olympics, <a href="https://www.nbcolympics.com/news/golf-101-olympic-history">winning </a>13 total medals and five gold medals in the past four Olympics, including men's and women's events.
Schauffele won a gold medal in the 2020 Summer Olympics and will look to defend his title. Morikawa finished fourth at the 2020 Summer Olympics, losing a bronze medal and third-place finish in a playoff.
Like Scheffler, Schauffele has been dominant in the 2024 PGA Tour season. The golfer <a href="https://www.pgatour.com/player/48081/xander-schauffele/results">made </a>18 cuts in 18 events and had two wins (PGA Championship, The Open Championship).
Scheffler and Schauffele are favorites for a reason and there is a good chance that at least one of them can add to America's Olympic medal count in the sport.

Scottie Scheffler, Gold Medalist? Golfer Looks To Turn 2024 PGA Tour Success Into A 2024 Olympic Medal

As Apple Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) gears up for its Q3 2024 earnings report, all eyes <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/AAPL/news">are on Cupertino, California</a>.
According to JPMorgan analyst Samik Chatterjee, Apple is not just coasting on its past success but gearing up for a thrilling AI-driven future that could propel its stock to new heights. 
Chatterjee has placed Apple on a &#8216;Positive Catalyst Watch,&#8217; raising the price target to $265 by December 2025, up from the previous $245 for December 2024.
So, what's behind this optimistic outlook? Let's dive into the details.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">AI is Apple&#8217;s Next Ace</h3>
According to Chatterjee, Apple is in a strong position to leverage this upcoming AI cycle, particularly through its iPhone and overall revenue performance. 
"We expect Apple to reassure investors that the upcoming AI replacement cycle earmarked to begin in earnest in FY25 (Sep-end), and step-up further into FY26, is leveraging a more robust launchpad in FY24 with better than expected revenue drivers," says Chatterjee.
He expects a revenue beat for both iPhone sales and the company&#8217;s total revenue, which could ease investor concerns about Apple&#8217;s premium valuation multiple. For the third quarter, Chatterjee anticipates Apple&#8217;s revenue to reach $85.3 billion, slightly above the consensus of $84.3 billion. Earnings per share are expected to be $1.38, compared to the consensus of $1.34.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">iPhone To Be Key Apple Earnings&#8217; Driver</h3>
Notably, the iPhone is projected to be a key driver of this performance, with estimated sales of approximately 44 million units, leading to $39.9 billion in revenue, surpassing the consensus of $38.9 billion. Strong performance in China and other key regions is expected to contribute significantly to these numbers.
Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, Chatterjee forecasts revenue of $95.5 billion and earnings per share of $1.62, both ahead of the consensus estimates. This projection marks the second consecutive quarter of year-over-year revenue growth, following a decline earlier this year. 
The iPhone, Services, and Mac segments are expected to lead the charge, while the Wearables, Home, and Accessories segment might experience some decline.

Chatterjee believes there is untapped potential within Apple&#8217;s AI strategy. He outlines three key areas that investors might be underestimating:

<li>Volume Expansion: The AI-driven upgrade cycle is not confined to North America. Apple's reach could extend globally, driving volumes beyond expectations and marking a departure from the patterns seen in the 5G cycle. </li>
<li>Prolonged Growth: With leading-edge AI features slated for iPhones post-FY26, Apple might witness an extended period of growth, possibly outstripping current expectations.</li>
</ol>
As Chatterjee states, &#8220;Our Dec-2025 price target of $265 only assumes a 26x earnings multiple on CY26 estimates as they already embed the tailwinds of the AI replacement cycle.&#8221;
With these factors in play, Apple&#8217;s upcoming earnings release could be the spark needed to propel its stock to new heights.

The S&amp;P Global Flash UK manufacturing PMI rose to 51.8 in July from 50.9 in June, while services PMI rose to 52.4 in July from 52.1 in the previous month.

Bryson DeChambeau, just a few weeks off his first major victory at the U.S. Open, has another win to celebrate: beating golf YouTuber Grant Horvat in a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/07/39923696/as-google-searchs-growth-outpaces-that-of-youtube-alphabet-cfo-says-really-pleased-with-platform-her">race to one million subscribers. </a>DeChambeau surpassed the milestone on Tuesday, hours after posting a video featuring former President Donald Trump in which the pair tried to shoot below 50 on one of Trump's golf courses.
DeChambeau, the nine-time PGA winner who now plays in the LIV Golf League, has helped boost his publicity and popularity through social media videos on YouTube and Snapchat. DeChambeau credits his rise on social media with improving his ability to connect with fans.
And while there are plenty of golf content creators on YouTube, DeChambeau is one of the only ones with true professional experience, giving him a leg up on his YouTube peers like Horvat. When DeChambeau got his millionth subscriber on Tuesday, Horvat had around 750,000. 
 "We&#8217;re on a race to a million subscribers, we&#8217;re trying to beat Grant Horvat. He&#8217;s trying to get there, but we want to be there first we&#8217;re doing pretty well so far, but we want to hit a million before the end of July," DeChambeau said in the beginning of his video with Trump. DeChambeau also announced that 5 subscribers would win $1,000 for following his YouTube channel if he met the milestone, which he did. DeChambeau, who is known for being one of the longest hitters in the world, was able to drive many of the greens at the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey. For the sake of the challenge, Trump and DeChambeau played from the red or forward tees, much closer than what either golfer would normally play.
DeChambeau has attempted the challenge with a wide range of participants, from Horvat, to fellow LIV golfer Sergio Garcia, but has not been able to shoot a 49 or lower. "The hardest part is the par 3s," DeChambeau <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Rb9b8rYhII">said in the video with Trump. </a>DeChambeau's video with Trump has garnered more than four million views since it was posted on Tuesday. DeChambeau explained that the challenge was for charity, with $10,000 raised for birdies and $20,000 for eagles.&nbsp;
DeChambeau also took to X, formerly Twitter, to explain that the video was not an endorsement of Trump or a political statement, and that he also extended an invite to President Joe Biden and that playing with any former President would be an honor.
