Trump Media &amp; Technology Group Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DJT#NASDAQ">DJT</a>) shares gained <a href="https://benzinga.grsm.io/register174">in premarket trading </a>on Monday, rising along with the index futures, which are priming for a modestly to moderately higher open.
The gain by the publicly-listed media firm owned by former President Donald Trump comes after the developments over the weekend, which saw presumptive Democratic nominee and President Joe Biden announcing his decision to quit the race. The president endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, who was his running mate, for the presidency. Most Democrats have thrown their weight behind her.
Former President Bill Clinton and his wife and former presidential nominee Hillary Clinton have endorsed Harris. On the other hand, former President Barack Obama is in favor of an open nomination at the Democratic party&#8217;s convention. &#8220;We will be navigating uncharted waters in the days ahead. But I have extraordinary confidence that the leaders of our party will be able to create a process from which an outstanding nominee emerges,&#8221; he said in a statement.
As the Democratic camp goes about a turbulent period, the advantage is clearly with Trump despite his criminal lawsuits, his age and voters not really warming up to him.

Trump has a majority 64.9% stake in TMTG, which owns the Truth Social platform, thanks to the 114.7 million shares he owns in the company. The company went public on March 26 following the consummation of its long-delayed merger with the SPAC, Digital World Acquisition Corp.
Since then the stock has had a volatile ride and traded between a high and low of $79.38 (post-SPAC merger high) and $22.55 (Apr. 16).
The stock spiked higher, topping the $40 mark after the June 26 debate, before retracing some of the gains. It made a renewed push higher amid the failed <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/07/39767334/trump-media-technology-djt-surges-over-60-pre-market-whats-driving-the-rally">assassination attempt on Trump</a> at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on July 13. The stock went past $46 on July 15.

Mohamed El-Erian On Biden's Withdrawal From Presidential Race: 'There Is Genuine Uncertainty On How Markets Will - And Should- React To The News'

GE Aerospace (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GE#NYSE">GE</a>) and Kratos Turbine Technologies, a division of Kratos Defense &amp; Security Solutions, Inc., signed a Memorandum of Understanding to partner on the development and production of small affordable engines that could potentially power unmanned aerial systems (UAS), collaborative combat aircraft, and similar applications. The partnership builds on an existing joint development agreement and includes full-scale engine production.
For the last year, GE Aerospace and Kratos have been working together on a small affordable engine. The engine initially was developed and ground tested by Kratos. Under the existing joint agreement, GE Aerospace and Kratos completed additional development efforts and are now conducting tests on the engine. The team plans to continue development on the current engine, which will undergo altitude testing next year at GE Aerospace&#39;s test cell in&nbsp;Evendale, Ohio.

Amid criticism that the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/07/39854612/windows-pcs-crash-worldwide-with-users-experiencing-blue-screen-of-death-issue-crowdstrike-updat">CrowdStrike issue</a> wouldn't have happened with Apple Inc.'s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) macOS, Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>) has clarified that a prior agreement with the European Commission it is legally unable to adopt the same security measures as Cupertino.
What Happened: Following the CrowdStrike incident, Satya Nadella-led company&#8217;s spokesperson explained that as part of this agreement, Microsoft committed to providing security software makers with the same level of access to Windows as it has.
This is far unlike what Apple is able to do with macOS, where it does not have to adhere to these restrictions. As a result, privileged access to a very critical component of the operating system – the kernel – is off-limits to third-party software makers.

Suzano, the world&#39;s largest market pulp producer, announces the successful operational startup of its new mill, the largest single pulp production line in the world, in Ribas do Rio Pardo, Mato Grosso do Sul state. This marks the completion of one of Brazil&#39;s largest ever private investment projects.
This state-of-the-art facility will have an annual production capacity of 2.55 million tonnes of eucalyptus pulp, increasing Suzano&#39;s production capacity by more than&nbsp;20%&nbsp;to 13.5 million tonnes a year. This energy, which will be directed toward the mill&#39;s local suppliers as well as the national grid, is enough to power a city of up to 2 million inhabitants. The proximity of the mill to Suzano&#39;s eucalyptus farms means emissions and time from logging transportation will be significantly reduced. The structural distance from forest-to-mill is only 65 kilometres on average compared to Suzano&#39;s structural average supply radius of 150 kilometres. The plant will also be self-sufficient in the production of sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide.
This is the largest investment in Suzano&#39;s 100-year history and has a series of operational and socio-environmental advances. &quot;The new plant will lay the foundations for future growth opportunities, such as the development of innovative new products from renewable raw material, and strengthen Suzano&#39;s irreplicable business model&quot;, says Walter Schalka, who recently stepped down as CEO of Suzano after an 11-year journey in charge of the company.
The completed project will also have a major impact on both the local community and wider regional economy. The fund manager attributed the weakness to Tesla&#8217;s successive price cuts that proved inelastic and did not lift volume, he said.
On the other hand, Tesla benefited from the $7,500 federal electric vehicle tax credit, he pointed out. &#8220;Absent Biden's $7,500 EV credit, TSLA would have done even worse,&#8221; he said.
Black also waded into the election debate. &#8220;Those expecting a [Donald] Trump/[J.D.]Vance landslide in 2024 were getting ahead of themselves since it was pretty clear after the debate that Biden would drop out of the race,&#8221; he said. If Vice President Kamala Harris, who has been endorsed by Biden after he stood down, is way behind Trump in opinion polls, the Democrats are unlikely to put her at the top of the ticket, he added.
&#8220;Right now it's a dead heat, but I predict that will change in Trump's favor in the coming weeks,&#8221; Black said.

Tesla bull Daniel Ives said a second term for Trump would be an overall negative for the EV industry, given the likelihood of the EV rebates/tax incentives getting pulled. But it is a potential positive for Tesla, given the company &#8220;has the scale and scope that is unmatched in the EV industry and this dynamic could give Musk and Tesla a clear competitive advantage in a non-EV subsidy environment,&#8221; he said.
Stanphyl Capital Managing Member&nbsp;Mark Spiegel sees the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/07/39833163/trump-vance-administration-will-be-terrible-for-tesla-says-bear-elon-musk-has-compl">removal of the $7,500 subsidy impacting Tesla&#8217;s already battered margins. </a>He also sees Trump doing away with the EV mandates, which will likely take away much of Tesla&#8217;s high-margin regulatory credits.
Trump said at the Republican National Convention held last week that he will end federal support for EVs on day one, which he thinks is essential to keep the auto industry from being obliterated. However, at a campaign rally in Michigan on Saturday, Trump toned down his rhetoric against EVs and clarified that he is against only 100% electrification.
