Fusion Fuel Green Plc ("Fusion Fuel" or the "Company") announced today that it has issued a damages claim against Hydrogenial S.A. ("Hydrogenial" or the "Investor") and its principal, Mr. Norbert Bindner, following their failure to fund the $33.5 million Subscription Agreement disclosed in the Company's Form 6-K on September 11, 2024. Under the terms of this agreement, entered into in good faith by the Company on August 28, 2024, the Investor committed to purchase an aggregate of 43,790,850 Class A ordinary shares (the "Class A Shares"), along with warrants to acquire an additional 13,137,254 Class A Shares, for a total purchase price of $33,500,000.
Pursuant to Section 3 of the Subscription Agreement, the closing was to take place on September 30, 2024, with full payment due at or before the time of the closing. Despite all conditions to closing being met, as confirmed in discussions with Hydrogenial representatives, the Investor failed to fund in a timely fashion. The Company promptly informed Hydrogenial of its breach and requested immediate resolution, and Hydrogenial subsequently provided the Company with a revised closing date of October 25, 2024; however, to date, the Company has yet to receive proceeds from the investment. This continued delay has led Fusion Fuel to pursue legal recourse.
As a direct consequence of the funding delay, Fusion Fuel has filed for insolvency for its Portuguese subsidiary, Fusion Fuel Portugal S.A., out of which the most significant portion of the Company's technology sales and project development activities had been conducted. On the advice of insolvency counsel, the Company has submitted a claim in Portugal for damages incurred due to Hydrogenial's breach. The Company notes that the Investor's obligation under the Subscription Agreement remains in effect notwithstanding the filing of the claim and the insolvency of its Portuguese subsidiary.
In response to these events, Fusion Fuel is actively exploring strategic alternatives to preserve shareholder value, including a potential transaction that management believes could complement the Company's hydrogen business and yield significant synergies. The Company expects to provide further updates in short order.

Swedish video game company Embracer Group AB's (OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/THQQF#OTC">THQQF</a>) latest financial results show a steep drop in sales and increased net losses as the company deals with game delays, staff <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/gaming">reductions, and restructuring.</a>
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Q2 Financial Summary: Declining Sales And Higher Losses</h3>
For the quarter ending Sept. 30, Embracer reported (<a href="https://www.gamesindustry.biz/embracer-pc-and-console-sales-plummet-during-q2">via</a> GamesIndustry.biz) net sales of 8.55 billion SEK (about $774 million), down 21% from the same period last year.

Revenue from PC and console games took the largest hit, falling by 46% year-over-year to 2.12 billion SEK ($192 million), with only a few new releases and mixed reception of existing titles such as Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed. 
Mobile games saw an 8% decline, with revenue down to 1.35 billion SEK. The company recorded a net loss of 390 million SEK, a slight improvement from a 562 million SEK loss in the same quarter last year.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Six-Month Results: Losses And Reduced Workforce</h3>
Embracer's numbers for the first half of fiscal year 2025 reveal a sharper year-over-year decline. Net sales dropped 23% to 14.4 billion SEK, and its net loss widened to 2.58 billion SEK compared to a 1.69 billion SEK profit last year. 
Workforce reductions reflect the company's major restructuring efforts, with the number of game developers dropping from 10,654 to 6,250, and total headcount falling from 15,701 to 10,450.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Game Delays And Studio Divestments</h3>
A significant factor in Embracer's reduced revenues was a lack of major new releases and weaker-than-expected sales of its back catalog. 
Embracer also divested Gearbox and parts of Saber Interactive, affecting its revenue from older titles. CEO Lars Wingefors said, "Parts of our PC/Console and Entertainment &amp; Services segments are still underperforming due to delays and low ROI for primarily small and mid-sized releases." Embracer also recently sold Easybrain to Miniclip in a $1.2 billion deal as part of its efforts to reduce debt and streamline operations.
The company remains focused on core projects with a view toward longer-term growth, notably with the release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, set to launch on Feb. 11, 2025, which Embracer expects will bring strong interest from the gaming community.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Outlook: Restructuring And Future Focus</h3>
Embracer anticipates continued lower earnings through the fiscal year, with Wingefors noting that the company has created "a stronger foundation for long-term value creation" by reducing debt and capital expenditures.
Embracer is also moving forward with plans to spin off Asmodee by the fiscal year-end, further refocusing its portfolio around core segments.

When you write about U.S. stocks as much as I do, you tend to forget about the many other investment ideas available to retail investors in this country. There are plenty.&nbsp;



In recent years, the private capital markets have grown in stature and popularity. That&rsquo;s evident by the big move by pension funds into private equity and other so-called alternative assets.&nbsp;



According to the Global Pension Assets Study &ndash; 2024, the percentage of pension fund assets invested in public equities dropped from <a href="https://www.thinkingaheadinstitute.org/research-papers/global-pension-assets-study-2024/">50.7%</a> in 2003 to 41.6% in 2023. Over these 20 years, the allocation to alternative assets rose 840 basis points to 20.1%.



For investors looking for quality information about the various asset classes, the Bank of America (NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/bac-stock-quote/">BAC</a>) <a href="https://fa.ml.com/new-york/new-york/the_jemm_group/mediahandler/media/595849/2023Q3_CIO_Chartbook_GIC.pdf">quarterly chart book</a> for institutional investors is chock-full of information.&nbsp;



For example, the Q3 2023 chartbook examines the risk and returns of various private and public asset classes between July 2005 and March 31, 2023. ARCC is <a href="https://www.sec.gov/ix?doc=/Archives/edgar/data/1287750/000128775024000011/arcc-20231231.htm">externally managed</a> by Ares Capital Management, an investment adviser owned by alternative asset manager Ares Management (NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/ares-stock-quote/">ARES</a>). It invests in the &ldquo;middle market,&rdquo; defined as companies with annual EBITDA &mdash; or earnings before interest taxes, depreciation and amortization &mdash; between $10 million and $250 million.&nbsp;



Its investments range from $30 million to $500 million, and a good portion are first-lien senior secured loans and second-lien senior secured loans. It also invests in subordinated debt, which can include common and preferred equity.



On May 1, the BDC reported its <a href="https://ir.arescapitalcorp.com/news/ares-capital-corporation-announces-march-31-2024-financial-results-and-declares-second-quarter-2024-dividend/c0d49647-ffc4-4bb7-b651-5d031f418e1d/">Q1 2024 results</a>. Investors shouldn&rsquo;t put much stock in the income statement because it varies from quarter to quarter, based on realized and unrealized gains. Excluding these, its core earnings per share were $0.59, two cents higher than a year earlier.&nbsp;



More importantly, its net assets per share were $19.53, up from $19.24 at the end of December. The fair value of its portfolio of investments as of March 31 was $23.12 billion, up from $22.87 billion at the end of December.&nbsp;



Yielding 9.1%, its annualized total return over the past five years was <a href="https://www.morningstar.com/stocks/xnas/arcc/trailing-returns">11.22%</a>. If income is your thing, ARCC is an excellent way to play private credit.&nbsp;



<h2>Blackstone (BX)</h2>

Those assets are divided among four buckets: Real Estate, which constitutes 32% of AUM, Private Equity at 29%, Credit &amp; Insurance at 31% and Multi-Asset Investing at 8%.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;



When you analyze alternative asset managers, remember that there are many moving parts and metrics to pay attention to.&nbsp;



For example, the most important metric is the growth in fee-earning assets. In Q1 2024, they rose 7% year-over-year to $781.4 billion. Those assets generated $4.47 billion in revenue in the trailing 12 months ended March 31, 4% higher than a year earlier.&nbsp;



In addition to the fee-related earnings, there are performance fees for beating their segment&rsquo;s benchmarks. In the 12 months which ended March 31, they were $1.18 billion, 52% less than a year earlier.



As a result, its segment distributable earnings fell by 17% to $5.65 billion. If its fee-earning assets fell over this period, that might have caused some concern, but that didn&rsquo;t happen.&nbsp;



Also, significant are the funds yet to be invested. These are referred to as &ldquo;dry powder.&rdquo; As of March 31, it was $191.2 billion, with private equity possessing the most at $80.0 billion.



I could go on and on about its quarterly results.&nbsp;



Although its shares are flat year-to-date, BX stock is up nearly about 49% over the past year and about 207% over the past five years.&nbsp;



It&rsquo;s an excellent proxy for alternative assets.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;



<h2>Dimensional World Equity ETF (DFAW)</h2>

The actively managed ETF invests in other Dimensional funds.&nbsp;



They include Dimensional US Core Equity 1 ETF (NYSEARCA:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/dcor-stock-quote/">DCOR</a>), Dimensional US Core Equity 2 ETF (NYSEARCA:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/dfac-stock-quote/">DFAC</a>), Dimensional International Core Equity 2 ETF (NYSEARCA:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/dfic-stock-quote/">DFIC</a>), Dimensional Emerging Markets Core Equity 2 ETF (NYSEARCA:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/dfae-stock-quote/">DFAE</a>) and Dimensional Global Real Estate ETF (NYSEARCA:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/dfgr-stock-quote/">DFGR</a>).&nbsp;



The three top ETFs by weight are DFAC at 52.71%, DFIC at 19.54% and DCOR at 17.55%. U.S. equities account for 71.82% of the net assets, international equity at 19.89% and emerging equity at 8.29%.&nbsp;



Launched last September, it charges a reasonable 0.25% expense ratio, providing investors with a low-cost global equity portfolio.&nbsp;
