Stocks That Hit 52-Week Highs On Monday

Recent polls exploring the matchup between Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris have confirmed <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/politics/24/07/40055183/trump-vs-harris-vice-president-leads-2024-election-by-1-point-hits-records-for-net-buzz-net-favo">growing momentum for the Democrats.</a> New poll results released Tuesday show that Harris is slowly closing the gap with the former president.
The Match-up: Trump led Harris by a 48%-45% margin, while 7% did not know or were unsure, according to a nationwide <a href="https://harvardharrispoll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/HHP_July2024_KeyResults.pdf">survey</a> conducted by The Harris Poll and HarrisX online from July 26-28, among 2,196 registered voters. The margin of error for the total sample was plus or minus 2.1 percentage points. Harris narrowed Trump&#8217;s lead to three points, compared to the seven-point lead he had versus President Joe Biden in June.
Party-wise breakup of support showed that Trump had more support among Republicans (92%) than what Harris commanded among the Democrats (87%). Independents broke in favor of Trump, with 45% backing Trump and 39% supporting the vice president.
When first choice and leaners were considered, ie when the respondents were explicitly asked to pick between Trump and Harris, the former&#8217;s lead increased by a point. Fifty-two percent backed Trump and 48% supported Harris. 
In a three-way race with Robert Kennedy Jr. added to the ballot, Trump led Harris by three points but has seen his lead shrink from 7% in June when Biden was in the race.

Demographic Break-up: Trump was increasingly favored by men (54%), while the singularity of women (48%) threw their support behind Trump. The former president had majority support (53%) among respondents with less than a high school degree and nearly majority support (49%) among voters with a high school degree to less than a four-year college degree.
Harris commanded more support among voters with a four-year college degree or more, with 48% of this demographic group favoring her as opposed to 45% who supported Trump.
Expectedly, Trump wielded the clout with white voters, beating Harris by a 54% to 39% margin. Harris found favor with all the other racial groups, namely Black &amp; African-Americans, Hispanic, Latino or Spanish origin, Asian origin and others. Specifically with Black &amp; African Americans, she commanded 67% support, while Trump could also garner 25% support.
Voters in the urban areas aligned more with Harris (54%) than Trump (40%), while suburban and rural voters preferred the latter.
Firmness Of Choice: More Trump backers (51%) have made up their minds compared to a more modest 47% of Harris backers who are firm in their choice.
The poll also found that three in four voters have made up their mind about who they will vote for but two in five independents said they are still weighing their choices.
A majority of the voters (57%) said there should have been more competition to nominate a replacement for Biden, while the remainder said it was important to show unity and coalesce behind Harris.
If ultimately Harris were the Democratic nominee for president, 47% said she would win the Nov. 5 election as opposed to 53% who said she would lose. Although not very positive for the vice president, she has improved the Democrats&#8217; standing from the 37% Biden polled versus Trump before he quit the race.
Candidates&#8217; Forte: Harris had an upper hand in voter preference over temperament, protection of democracy, protection of the Constitution, having the right values, representing change, caring about people, and seeking bipartisanship as well as other personality traits such as trustworthiness and honesty.
On the other hand, Trump scores over on putting the country first, having the right priorities and policies, qualification for serving as president, getting things done and being a fighter and exciting.

Trump Vs. Harris: Vice President Wipes Away Part Of Biden's Post-Debate Deficit As Key Demographic Groups Throw In Their Weight

Tesla Inc.&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) senior associate for regulatory credits Ashlee Ramanathan took to Linkedin earlier this week to announce her departure <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/07/40030402/tesla-replaces-ford-as-morgan-stanleys-top-pick-as-brokerage-sees-potential-in-ev-g">from the company</a>, days after the company reported revenue of $890 million from the sale of regulatory credits alone in the second quarter.
What Happened: Ramanathan said in a post on LinkedIn that she made the &#8220;difficult decision&#8221; to leave a few weeks ago.
&#8220;Tesla has been more than a job: an all-consuming Mission demanding my time and efforts constantly as we closed deals to sell emissions credits to obligated parties (both automotive and oil &amp; gas companies) across the world,&#8221; she wrote. 
Talking about her plans, Ramanathan said that she would take a break for a few weeks before embarking on another job.
What Are Regulatory Credits: Regulatory credits are incentives awarded to automakers by governments for selling electric vehicles. Each company is supposed to have a minimum number of regulatory credits each year, failing which they have to buy from other companies that have excess credits.
Given that Tesla only sells EVs, they have excess credit which they sell <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/21/03/20002354/tesla-provided-most-of-the-362m-regulatory-credits-purchased-by-fiat-chrysler-in-2020">to other companies</a> for profit. 
Why It Matters: The sale of regulatory credits to players falling short of their emission requirements was a major revenue source for Tesla in the second quarter as <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/07/39953878/teslas-energy-and-storage-segment-doubles-revenue-in-q2-to-make-up-for-decline-in-car-sales">revenue from car sales</a> dipped 9.3% year on year to $18.53 billion. Revenue from automotive regulatory credit sales in the meantime jumped 216% from just $282 million in the second quarter of 2023. 
&#8220;We recognized record regulatory credit revenues in Q2 as other OEMs are still behind on meeting emissions requirements,&#8221; Tesla announced during its second-quarter earnings last week.
According to Tesla&#8217;s 10Q filing, the company has unsatisfied or partially unsatisfied contracts for the sale of regulatory credits worth $4.9 billion as of June 30. Of this whopping amount, $459 million is expected to be recognized in the next 12 months and the remaining over a period of time.

Tesla Senior Associate For Regulatory Credits Leaves After Realizing $890M In Revenue For EV Giant In Q2

Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) has been criticized for its AI assistant&#8217;s false denial of an <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/07/39897484/why-was-the-secret-services-protective-perimeter-in-butler-shorter-than-the-range-of-an-ar-15-aoc-as">attempted assassination</a> on former President Donald Trump. However, now the company has finally addressed the issue.
What Happened: In a blog post on Tuesday, Joel Kaplan, the global head of policy at Meta, addressed the issue labeling the AI&#8217;s responses as &#8220;unfortunate.&#8221; He attributed <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/03/37559453/godfather-of-ai-explains-why-chatgpt-copilot-and-other-ai-chatbots-hallucinate">the error to &#8220;hallucinations,&#8221;</a> a common problem across all generative AI systems.

&#8220;Because the photo was altered, a fact check label was initially and correctly applied,&#8221; he stated, adding, that because of the similarities between the doctored and original image, the system mistakenly applied the fact-check label to the real photo too.

What is CNN Business Fear &amp; Greed Index?
At a current reading of 42.2, the index moved to the &#8220;Fear&#8221; zone on Tuesday, versus a prior reading of 46.6.
The Fear &amp; Greed Index is a measure of the current market sentiment. It is based on the premise that higher fear exerts pressure on stock prices, while higher greed has the opposite effect. The index is calculated based on seven equal-weighted indicators. The index ranges from 0 to 100, where 0 represents maximum fear and 100 signals maximum greediness.

Nasdaq Tumbles As Microsoft, Nvidia And Other Tech Stocks Decline: Greed Index Moves To 'Fear' Zone

Millicom also intends to offer to purchase La Naci&oacute;n&#39;s and other minority interests in Coltel for cash at the same purchase price per share offered to Telefonica. Additionally, Millicom intends to offer to purchase Empresas P&uacute;blicas de Medellin&#39;s (EPM)&nbsp;50%&nbsp;interest in TigoUne for cash at a comparable valuation multiple as the one implied by the Coltel acquisition.
Millicom plans to fund the proposed aggregate investment of approximately&nbsp;$1 billion&nbsp;in cash and assumed debt with equity free cash flow projected over the next 18 months, consistent with the company&#39;s long-range plan. The transaction remains subject to negotiation and signature of definitive agreements with all parties involved, including Telefonica, La Naci&oacute;n and EPM, as well as receipt of regulatory and antitrust approvals and satisfaction of other closing conditions. There is no certainty the transaction will ultimately be consummated.

With U.S. stock futures trading mixed this morning on Wednesday, some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are as follows:

Boeing shares rose 0.46% to $187.73 in after-hours trading.</li>
<li>Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>) reported <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/07/40051051/microsoft-q4-earnings-highlights-revenue-beat-eps-beat-cloud-revenue-up-21-yoy-ensuring-we-lead-the">better-than-expected earnings</a> and sales results for its fourth quarter. Intelligent Cloud segment revenue was $28.5 billion, up 19% year-over-year, while Azure and other cloud services revenue posted year-over-year growth of 29% last quarter. Microsoft shares fell 2.7% to $411.40 in the after-hours trading session.</li>
<li>Analysts are expecting Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) to post quarterly earnings at $4.73 per share on revenue of $38.31 billion. The company will release earnings after the markets close. Meta shares fell 1% to $458.51 in after-hours trading.</li>

Fiverr Enhances eCommerce Capabilities With Strategic Acquisition Of AutoDS Dropshipping Tool

California-based EV maker Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RIVN#NASDAQ">RIVN</a>) has seemingly stopped providing <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/06/39212949/tesla-rival-rivian-rolls-out-next-gen-r1s-and-r1t-enhanced-performance-design-and-tech-start-at-">new customers </a>with a key fob. New Rivian customers now have to rely on either a key card or their mobile app to access, unlock, and drive their vehicles.
What Happened: The key fob is no longer included with the delivery but customers can purchase it if they want from Rivian&#8217;s Gear Shop later, a Rivian guide told a new customer. The customer shared the conversation via a <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/Rivian/comments/1e1r9wl/key_fob_no_longer_included/">post</a> on Reddit.
However, the key fob is not currently available at the gear shop.
Rivian did not immediately respond to <a href="https://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard">Benzinga&#8217;s</a> request for comment.

Here&#8217;s How Customers Can Access Their New Vehicles
Rivian previously provided both key cards and a key fob with their new vehicles. A key card is about the size of a credit card and uses NFC technology to access the vehicle. Customers must hold it to the door handle to lock or unlock the vehicle and to the interior to start driving.
Customers can also use the Rivian App on their phones to operate their vehicles. 
Why It Matters: Rivian is not the first to stop providing key fobs to customers. 
Tesla cars also <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/23/10/35154027/tesla-owners-are-using-this-iphone-15-pro-button-for-unlocking-their-cars-pop-the-frunk-and-turn-on">do not come with a key fob </a>at purchase. Customers who want it can purchase it for an extra $175 from the company&#8217;s online shop.
