<p><strong>CBRE Group Inc.</strong> (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/cbre#NYSE">CBRE</a>) reported second-quarter 2024 core earnings per share of 81 cents, ahead of the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 69 cents. However, the reported figure declined 1.2% year over year.</p>

<p>The GWS segment registered a year-over-year increase of 9.5% (10.3% in local currency) in revenues to $5.94 billion. Our estimate was pegged at $5.98 billion.</p>
<p>Paced by the sustained strength in the Local business, Facilities management net revenues rose 18% (19% in local currency). Project management net revenues increased 11% (12% in local currency) due to the continued strong growth in Turner &amp; Townsend. Net operating margin improved 20 basis points compared with first-quarter 2024, reflecting the early benefit of recent cost actions, but was below the prior-year period.</p>
<p>The Real Estate Investments segment experienced a decrease of 9.2% (same local currency) in revenues to $232 million.</p>
<p>At the end of the second quarter of 2024, assets under management decreased $1.5 billion from the first quarter of 2024 to $142.5 billion due to lower asset values and an adverse foreign currency movement.</p>
<p>In the second quarter of 2024, CBRE acquired Direct Line Global, which is a leading provider of technical facilities management services for data center owners and operators, for a total cash and non-cash consideration of $290.9 million. CBRE also acquired a provider of local facilities management technical services in Canada.</p>
<p>During the quarter, CBRE also announced its plan to combine its project management business with its Turner &amp; Townsend subsidiary.</p>
<h3>Balance Sheet Position</h3>
<p>CBRE Group exited the second quarter of 2024 with cash and cash equivalents of $928 million, down from $1.04 billion as of Mar 31, 2024.</p>
<p>As of Jun 30, 2024, CBRE Group had $3.7 billion in total liquidity. This comprised nearly $927.7 million in cash in addition to the ability to borrow a total of approximately $2.7 billion under its revolving credit facilities, net of any outstanding letters of credit. The company&#39;s net leverage ratio was 1.58x as of the same date, significantly less than CBRE&#39;s primary debt covenant of 4.25x.</p>

<p>The adjusted operating EBITDA was $1.6 billion, which met our estimate and increased 10.3% from the year-ago quarter. The adjusted operating EBITDA margin increased 130 basis points to 30% from the year-ago quarter and beat our estimate of 28.7%.</p>
<h3>Balance Sheet &amp; Cash Flow</h3>
<p>Waste Management exited the second quarter of 2024 with cash and cash equivalents of $172 million compared with $322 million at the end of the prior quarter. The long-term debt (less current portion) was $16.5 billion compared with $15.8 billion at the end of the prior quarter.</p>
<p>WM generated $1.2 billion in cash from operating activities in the reported quarter, while capital expenditure was $667 million. The free cash flow was $530 million. <h3>Segmental Revenues</h3>
<p>Revenues from Collection totaled $2.7 billion, up 7% from the year-ago quarter, missing our expectation of $2.8 billion.</p>
<p>Revenues (net) in the Transfer and Landfill segments were $208.2 million and $440.2 million, rising 5.5% and 2.1% on a year-over-year basis, respectively. While the Transfer segment&#39;s revenues surpassed our estimate of $204.9 million, the Landfill segment missed our estimate of $447.3 million.</p>
<p>The Other segment&#39;s revenues of $204.2 million rose 30.6% from the year-ago quarter and outpaced our anticipation of $180.2 million. Environmental solutions&#39; revenues (net) of $472.6 million increased 18.7% year over year and beat our estimate of $433.5 million.</p>
<h3>Operating Results</h3>
<p>Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter was $1.3 billion, which marked 13% growth from the year-ago quarter, surpassing our estimate of $1.2 billion. The adjusted EBITDA margin of 31.1% increased 110 basis points from the year-ago quarter, beating our estimate of 30.2%.</p>
<h3>Balance Sheet &amp; Cash Flow</h3>
<p>Republic Services exited the second quarter of 2024 with cash and cash equivalents of $490.6 million compared with $91.6 million at the end of the preceding quarter. The long-term debt (net of current maturities) was $11.5 billion compared with $11.4 billion at the end of the first quarter of 2024.</p>
<p>RSG generated $1.1 billion in cash from operating activities in the reported quarter. The adjusted free cash flow was $617.1 million. Capital expenditure in the second quarter of 2024 was $403.1 million.</p>
<h3>2024 Outlook</h3>
<p>For 2024, Republic Services expects revenues of $16.08-$16.13 billion. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the same is pegged at $16.15 billion, which is higher than the company&#39;s guided range. Adjusted EBITDA is anticipated to be $4.90-$4.93 billion.</p>
<p>RSG expects EPS of $6.15-$6.20. The consensus estimate is pegged at $6.05, which is higher than the company&#39;s guidance. The adjusted free cash flow is expected to be $2.15-$2.17 billion.</p>
