Stifel Maintains Buy on Zoetis, Maintains $200 Price Target

Ross Gerber, the co-founder and CEO of Gerber Kawasaki Wealth and Investment Management, is known for his influence in the world of finance. However, his connection to the cannabis industry dates back much further than his investment endeavors. Gerber's entry into the cannabis space started during his college days when a chance meeting with an activist inspired him to take up <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/cannabis-legalization">the cause of legalization</a>.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">A Rally That Sparked a Passion</h3>
Gerber's involvement in the cannabis movement began in the early 1990s while he was attending the University of Pennsylvania. He recalls meeting Jack Herer, a legendary cannabis activist, and being inspired to advocate for legalization. 
"I met this guy named Jack Herer who was running this thing called NORML, and he was this crazy guy," Gerber shared. "Honestly, I smoked a jay with him in Venice Beach, and I was a kid, and he kind of inspired me to, like, take up this idea of legalization."
This encounter led Gerber to organize a cannabis legalization rally on campus, which turned out to be a pivotal moment for him. "We followed all the rules and applied for the permits, and did everything. And the day came, and sure enough, six trucks full of hippies and Jack Herer show up for this thing right in the middle of campus," he said. The rally, which drew around 5,000 people, became the largest cannabis legalization rally in the history of the University of Pennsylvania, says Gerber.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">A Lifelong Advocate for Cannabis Legalization</h3>
Gerber's belief in the absurdity of cannabis prohibition has remained a constant throughout his life. Over the years, he continued to view cannabis not just as a recreational substance but as a medicine that helped him with sleep and stress. "I've more than determined that cannabis is medicine, and it's not extremely strong medicine, but it definitely works for things like stress and sleep," he noted.
His early experiences with the cannabis movement eventually dovetailed with his career in finance. As the cannabis industry moved toward legalization, Gerber saw an opportunity to not only support the movement but also invest in it. His personal beliefs and professional interests aligned, leading him to become a vocal advocate for cannabis reform and a key investor in the industry.

SPY&nbsp;is currently trading around our key level of 560.83. For the bulls, a move above 561.90 would be a strong signal of upward momentum. If this level is held, we anticipate the price to target 563.23 as a solid support area. Sustained bullish activity could push SPY further to 564.29. Our high bull target for the day is positioned at 565.38, which could be reached if the buying momentum continues throughout the session.
On the flip side, if 560.83 fails to hold as support, we expect the bears to challenge 559.75. A break below this level could see the price testing 558.32. If selling pressure persists, a move down to 557.44 could be on the cards. In a scenario of heavy selling, our low bear target for SPY is set at 556.27.
<h3>Invesco QQQ Trust Series 1</h3>
QQQ&nbsp;is currently trading near our critical level of 474.66. For the bulls, strength above 476.85 would indicate a positive start, with 479.03 as the next key support level. Should this level hold, we could see the price advance to 481.73. If the bulls maintain control, a higher move towards 483.95 is possible, with our high bull target on the day being 486.10.
However, if the auction struggles to hold 474.66, we expect the bears to take over and push the price down to 471.33. If this level is breached, a further decline to 469.27 could follow. Continued bearish momentum might lead to a test of 467.60. Should the sell-off intensify, our low bear target for QQQ is 465.93.
<h3>Apple Inc.</h3>
Apple&nbsp;is currently hovering around our key level of 226.90. Bulls will want to see this level hold as support, with an initial target of 227.82 on the upside. If buying pressure sustains, a further push towards 229.03 could be in play. Should the bulls retain control, the price might rally to our high bull target for the day at 230.25.
If 226.90 fails to act as support, we could see a move down to 226.08. Bears might then test 225.31, with continued downside pressure bringing 223.87 into focus. If the selling persists, the low bear target for Apple today is positioned at 222.96.
<h3>Microsoft Corp.</h3>
Microsoft&nbsp;is currently trading around 413.14. Bulls will be looking to hold this level as support, aiming for an initial rally towards 414.56. Should this level be secured, further upside could lead the price to 416.32. If buying momentum continues, the high bull target on the day for Microsoft is set at 417.25.
Conversely, if 413.14 fails to hold as support, bears are likely to target 411.72. A break below this level could see the price declining to 410.64. If selling pressure continues, a move down to 409.69 is possible, with our low bear target for Microsoft at 408.46.
<h3>NVIDIA Corporation</h3>
NVIDIA&nbsp;is currently trading near our key level of 126.84. For the bulls, a move higher to 128.10 would be a strong start, with this level acting as support if maintained. Continued bullish momentum could drive the price to 129.53. Should the uptrend persist, a rally towards our high bull target of 132.19 could unfold.
If 126.84 fails as support, we anticipate a test lower at 125.21. A break below this level could see the price drop to 123.41. If selling continues, a further decline to 121.97 is expected. Our low bear target for NVIDIA today is positioned at 120.27, in the case of a more pronounced sell-off.
<h3>Alphabet Inc Class A</h3>
Alphabet&nbsp;is currently trading around our key level of 165.41. Bulls will want to see this level hold as support, aiming for a push towards 167.04. If buying pressure sustains, we could see a move higher to 169.34. Should the bulls maintain control, this could be our high bull target for the day.
If 165.41 fails to hold as support, we anticipate a move down to 163.79. If this level is breached, a further decline to 161.79 could follow. On continued bearish momentum, we expect the price to test our low bear target for Alphabet at 160.36.
<h3>Meta Platforms Inc</h3>
Meta&nbsp;is currently auctioning near our level of 520.27. Bulls will be watching this level to hold as support, with an initial upside target of 526.29. Should buying strength continue, the price could advance to 531.03. If bullish momentum persists, the high bull target for Meta today is set at 534.33.
On the downside, if 520.27 fails to act as support, bears are likely to push the price lower to 515.39. Continued selling could see the price testing 512.85, with further downside likely leading to a low bear target of 508.25.
<h3>Tesla Inc. </h3>
Tesla&nbsp;is currently trading around 213.88, a key level to watch. Bulls will aim for a push towards 216.31, with 217.78 as the next upside target if buying momentum holds. Should the bulls take charge, a move to 219.39 is possible, with the high bull target on the day being 220.65.
If 213.88 doesn&#39;t hold as support, we expect the bears to drive the price down to 211.53. Continued selling pressure could lead to a test of 209.51. If this level is broken, our low bear target for Tesla today is positioned at 206.71.

Commercial and multifamily loan originations skyrocketed 27% from the year&#8217;s first quarter. They ticked up 3% compared to a year ago, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association's (MBA) second-quarter survey.

"Borrowing and lending backed by <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/real-estate/24/05/38586435/commercial-foreclosures-spike-by-nearly-120-in-the-last-12-months">commercial real estate</a> remained subdued in the second quarter," said Jamie Woodwell, MBA's head of commercial real estate research. "Most capital sources remain ready, willing and able to lend on properties that can support a loan. Driven by growth in the single-asset single-borrower markets, originations for CMBS [commercial mortgage-backed securities] grew significantly during the quarter."
The second quarter of 2024 saw a significant increase in <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/real-estate/24/06/39550000/why-this-economist-thinks-a-major-commercial-real-estate-crash-could-take-down-the-fdic">commercial loan originations</a>, with several property types experiencing substantial growth. Health care properties led the surge with a 178% increase from the previous quarter. Hotels followed closely with an 84% rise, while industrial properties saw a 29% increase and multifamily properties experienced a 27% uptick. Retail properties also recorded an 18% increase, while office properties saw a more modest 4% growth in loan dollar volume.

Investor types also played a significant role in the increased originations. Life insurance companies saw a substantial 60% increase in loan dollar volume from the first to the second quarter. Depositories and CMBS experienced 21% increases, while investor-driven lenders saw a 20% rise. Government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs) also contributed to the growth with a 16% increase in loan dollar volume.
While several commercial property types saw significant year-over-year increases in mortgage loan originations during the second quarter, others experienced declines. Hotels led the surge with a 172% increase, followed by industrial properties at 77% and health care properties at 50%. However, retail properties saw a 7% decline, multifamily properties decreased by 14% and office properties experienced a more substantial 29% drop.

Among investor types, CMBS saw a dramatic 154% increase in loan dollar volume year over year. Investor-driven lenders also experienced growth, with a 17% increase. Life insurance companies saw a more modest 11% rise. Conversely, depositories and GSEs faced declines, dropping by 26% and GSEs by 20%.
"With interest rates moderating and a large slug of loans maturing, it is likely we'll see more borrower activity in the coming quarters," Woodwell said.&nbsp;

Commercial And Multifamily Mortgage Originations Surge 27% In Q2

One of the most famous sports-based podcasts has found a new home with "New Heights" landing a $100 million deal with Amazon.com Inc's (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMZN#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>) Wondery, bringing the Kelce brothers further into the NFL ecosystem <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/23/10/35146521/amazon-is-winning-its-bet-on-nfl-rights-a-look-at-the-numbers-taylor-swift-upside">of the ecommerce giant.</a>
What Happened: Launched in 2022, "New Heights" comes from brothers Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce. While Jason retired from the NFL after a 13-year career, Travis is crucial to the Kansas City Chiefs&#8217; pursuit of a historic <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/sports-betting/24/07/39752864/bettors-favor-kansas-city-chiefs-for-super-bowl-three-peat-heres-a-look-at-how-states-are-">Super Bowl three-peat</a> in the 2024 season.
Amazon's Wondery landed the rights to ad-sales, distribution and more across a three-year $100 million deal, as reported by <a href="https://variety.com/2024/digital/news/kelce-brothers-podcast-wondery-new-heights-1236118594/">Variety</a>. Wondery will also have rights to the back catalog of episodes and the rights to create international audio versions of the podcast. Wondery also gains rights to develop and license merchandise based on the hit podcast.
The deal with the weekly podcast kicks off Wednesday Aug. 28 ahead of the 2024 NFL season. The podcast features a look at the day-to-day lives of the brothers, along with their NFL careers and special guests talking football, sports and various other topics. "New Heights" ranks among the most popular podcasts on Spotify and Apple Podcast. The podcast was named 2024 Podcast of the Year at the iHeartPodcast Awards.
Wondery+ subscribers can enjoy ad-free listening of &#8220;New Heights,&#8221; which will also be available across Wondery's distribution network and on YouTube.
"We couldn't be more excited to team up with Wondery for the next phase of ‘New Heights," the Kelce brothers said in a statement. "We love this show, and the fanbase that has grown with us over the last two seasons."
The Kelce brothers said Wondery brings experience and resources to take the podcast to "new heights," in a pun on the show's title.
Wondery CEO Jen Sargent said the Amazon owned company has been following the podcast over the last two years.
"'New Heights' on the surface is a sports podcast, and sports is such a well-listened to category," Sargent said. "But it's become a cultural phenomenon – they're in that cultural zeitgeist."
While "New Heights" was already popular with NFL and sports fans, the podcast may have also gotten a viewership boost with increased interest in Travis' personal life thanks to his relationship with global superstar Taylor Swift.

The report notes that Neffy could become the preferred option in public settings like schools and airplanes due to its ease of storage and use.

Nasal congestion during an allergic reaction could block the drug&#8217;s absorption, potentially worsening the reaction.

For uninsured patients, those with plans not covering Neffy or those with high out-of-pocket costs, ARS Pharma offers a $199 cash price for two doses via BlinkRx, also available through GoodRx. Additionally, eligible uninsured or underinsured individuals in the U.S. can access Neffy for free through ARS Pharma&#8217;s Patient Assistance Program.
Despite these developments, some doctors plan to delay prescribing Neffy initially, citing the administrative burden of navigating insurance coverage for a new drug.

<h3>The Fund And The Index</h3>
HYHG follows the Citi High Yield (Treasury Rate-Hedged) Index, which tracks a basket of high-yield bonds with a built-in hedge against rising interest rates. The ETF, which has a tempting 30-day SEC yield of 7.5 percent, had almost $114 million in assets under management at the end of the fourth quarter, <a href="http://www.proshares.com/media/fact_sheet/ProSharesFactSheetHYHG.pdf">according to ProShares data</a>.
HYHG&#39;s effective duration is -0.22 years. The iShares Interest Rate Hedged High Yield Bond ETF holds the iShares iBoxx $ High Yid Corp Bond (ETF) (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/hyg#NYSE">HYG</a>), the largest corporate junk bond ETF, with a rate hedge overlay. These ETFs &ldquo;have seen their combined AUM fall by over a third from the summer&rsquo;s highs.
