Billionaire investor&nbsp;Warren Buffett&nbsp;has addressed concerns regarding the record cash pile of&nbsp;Berkshire Hathaway Inc.&nbsp;(NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BRK#NYSE">BRK</a>). 
What Happened: In a <a href="https://www.berkshirehathaway.com/letters/2024ltr.pdf">letter</a> to shareholders on Saturday, Buffett reassured of his commitment to owning businesses, amidst the company&#8217;s cash reserves reaching an all-time high due to a lack of major acquisitions and a sell-off of stocks.
The 94-year-old investor&#8217;s&nbsp;decision to address the cash&nbsp;pile, which stood at $334.2 billion&nbsp;at the end of last&nbsp;year, comes amid record valuations that have made US stocks less appealing and made it difficult for Buffett to find major deals.
Buffett assured shareholders that&nbsp;a substantial majority of their&nbsp;money would be deployed in equities, primarily American, many of which have significant international operations. 
"Berkshire shareholders can rest assured that we will forever deploy a substantial majority of their money in equities — mostly American equities although many of these will have international operations of significance," Buffett said. 
This statement was released alongside Berkshire&#8217;s Q4 results, which showed a $9 billion increase in the cash pile as Buffett reduced stakes in stocks, including significant&nbsp;sales of shares in Citigroup&nbsp;and Bank of America.

Over the past year, the company&#8217;s cash pile has nearly doubled as it reinvested the proceeds from stock sales,&nbsp;including tens of billions of&nbsp;dollars&#8217;&nbsp;worth of shares in Apple, into Treasury bills.
"We were aided by a predictable large gain in investment income as Treasury Bill yields improved and we substantially increased our holdings of these highly liquid short-term securities," Buffett added in his letter.
"Paper money can see its value evaporate if fiscal folly prevails. In some countries, this reckless practice has become habitual, and, in our country's short history, the US has come close to the edge. Fixed-coupon bonds provide no protection against runaway currency," Buffet shared. 
Why It Matters: Buffett&#8217;s reassurance comes at a crucial time when the company&#8217;s cash reserves have reached an all-time high due to a lack of major acquisitions and a sell-off of stocks.

Pony AI, Celsius And WeRide Are Among Top 9 Mid Cap Gainers Last Week (Feb 17-Feb 21): Are The Others In Your Portfolio?

The rise of cryptocurrencies and the new administration&#8217;s friendliness <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/25/02/43889897/bitcoin-strategic-reserve-with-1-million-btc-could-offset-21-trillion-national-debt">toward digital assets</a> have left advisors deeply conflicted about the asset class, a new survey by CoinShares reveals.
On the one hand, 62% of advisors say recommending Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies goes against their fiduciary duties, and half think doing so would make colleagues think less of them. 
On the other hand, 85% of advisors say their firm&#8217;s views on digital assets have changed since President Donald Trump won re-election, and 79% agree that, with more and more clients putting money into cryptocurrencies, the role of advisors is becoming to manage the risk that poses for clients.
Squaring this circle will require more information and education about digital assets. Over 80% of surveyed advisors were willing to spend money on cryptocurrency education but wanted that information to be independent. That excludes crypto exchanges, while many &#8220;crypto-native&#8221; educational resources are difficult to access for those unfamiliar with the space.

In addition to education, new regulations seem set to improve advisors&#8217; views on digital assets. In the CoinShares survey, 88% of advisors said the SEC&#8217;s recent approval of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs made them more positive about cryptocurrencies, and almost two-thirds said SEC approval was in the top three factors that most determined whether they felt it was appropriate to recommend cryptocurrency investments.
The new administration&#8217;s much more crypto-friendly stance suggests the SEC will be approving more digital asset funds, and faster, giving advisors a wider variety of options to choose from when building cryptocurrency portfolios for their clients.

Musk, for his part, is heavily invested in AI through Tesla's Full Self-Driving software, Neuralink, and xAI. But Cuban doesn't believe Musk—or even Amazon's (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMZN#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>) Jeff Bezos—will be the first to hit a trillion dollars. Instead, he thinks it will be someone who approaches AI from a completely different angle.
"It could be someone who studied philosophy to better understand and solve complicated problems within human nature," Cuban suggested.&nbsp;

What Happened: Bezos took to social media to ask for public opinion on who should be the next James Bond. British actor Henry Cavill emerged as the clear favorite. Cavill, who has starred in &#8220;Mission: Impossible — Fallout,&#8221; &#8220;The Man from U.N.C.L.E.,&#8221; and &#8220;Argylle,&#8221; outperformed other candidates such as Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston, Theo James, and Michael Fassbender.
Support for Cavill came from various corners, including Dogecoin creator Billy Markus and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Bezos, however, has not yet responded to the suggestions.
Amazon&#8217;s purchase of MGM Studios for $8.5 billion allowed it to enter the Bond franchise, but until now, creative direction was still in the hands of the Broccoli family.

It&#39;s the holiday shopping season and in the spirit of the season, everyone loves a good deal. Well, everyone loves a good deal all year long and that&#39;s something exchange-traded funds issuers often oblige.

BlackRock&#39;s iShares unit, the world&#39;s largest ETF sponsor, is adding some cheer to the season, announcing fee cuts on four of its well-known products.

For the most part, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/long-ideas/20/12/18828594/spac-fever-finds-another-etf-home-in-new-tuttle-fund">the expense ratio reductions</a> are modest, but for long-term investors, those small cuts can add up to big savings over time.

Here are the four iShares ETFs with newly lower fees.

iShares Core MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (IEMG)

The iShares Core MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/IEMG#NYSE">IEMG</a>) now has an annual fee of 0.11%, or $11 on a $10,000 investment.&nbsp;That draws IEMG to within one basis point of primary rival, the Vanguard FTSE Emerging Markets ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/VWO#NYSE">VWO</a>). VWO and IEMG are the two largest emerging markets ETFs, a competition that&#39;s really limited to these two products.

iShares 0-5 Year TIPS Bond ETF (STIP)

There&#39;s plenty of debate regarding just how pesky inflation currently is and will be next year, but there&#39;s no denying it just got a little bit cheaper to protect against the scourge of rising prices as the iShares 0-5 Year TIPS Bond ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/STIP#NYSE">STIP</a>) now charges 0.05%, down from 0.06%. The $2.91 billion STIP, which turned 10 years old earlier this month, tracks the Bloomberg Barclays U.S. Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS) 0-5 Years Index.

iShares Core International Aggregate Bond ETF (IAGG)

The iShares Core International Aggregate Bond ETF (CBOE: IAGG) had its fee trimmed to 0.08% from 0.09%. Alone, that&#39;s barely noteworthy, but in this case, it&#39;s interesting because IAGG now has the same annual fee as its most director competitor, the Vanguard Total International Bond Index Fund ETF Shares (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/BNDX#NASDAQ">BNDX</a>).

iShares International Dividend Growth ETF (IGRO)

Alright, now we&#39;re getting somewhere in terms of notable fee reductions. The iShares International Dividend Growth ETF (CBOE: IGRO) is now charging 0.15% per year, down from 0.22%. That&#39;s significant by the standards of individual ETF expense ratio reductions.

IGRO&#39;s newly cheaper status is relevant for investors heading into 2021 because international stocks are suddenly a favored asset class for the new year and expectations for dividend growth are fairly stout, indicating this ETF could be a fine idea for income investors in the new year.

Fixed income exchange-traded funds, usually viewed as a not-so-glamorous asset class, are decidedly glamorous this year. Several of this year&#39;s top 10 asset-gathering ETFs are bond funds and with the Federal Reserve consistently passing on raising interest rates, U.S. government bond funds have been the toast of the ETF world.
<h3>The Bond Fund Appeal</h3>
&ldquo;Investors put an additional $4.2 billion of net new money into fixed income ETFs in May, pushing the year to date flows figure to $42 billion, according to Factset data. While demand remained strong for actively managed fixed income mutual funds this year, up until last week, a wide variety of lower-cost ETFs that offer intra-day liquidity and typically seek to passively replicate an index have been gaining share in 2016,&rdquo; said <a href="http://trymsatoday.com/">S&amp;P Capital IQ</a> in a note out earlier this month.

<h3>BATS Exchange Gets In On The Action</h3>
While U.S. bond ETFs are commanding the bulk of investors&#39; attention and assets this year, some international equivalents merit consideration as well. That group includes the iShares International Aggregate Bond Fund (BATS: IAGG). IAGG is the international answer to the popular iShares Barclays Aggregate Bond Fund (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/agg#NYSE">AGG</a>), one of this year&#39;s <a href="http://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/long-ideas/16/06/8076756/guess-what-investors-still-love-bond-etfs">top asset-gathering ETFs</a>.
At a time when there is still potential for multiple rate hikes by the Fed and as some bond investors are increasingly concerned about the return potential offered by U.S. government debt going forward, looking at high-grade international bonds makes sense.
&ldquo;For example, while the United States is tightening its monetary policy, the central banks of Europe and Japan both have launched aggressive stimulus measures since 2014 to jumpstart economic growth. These stimulus measures have driven bond yields in Europe and Japan lower and bond prices there higher, and could continue to do so,&rdquo; <a href="https://www.blackrockblog.com/2016/06/21/international-bonds/">according to BlackRock</a>.
<h3>A Deeper Dive Into IAGG</h3>
IAGG, which tracks the Barclays Global Aggregate ex USD 10 Percent Issuer Capped (Hedged) Index, debuted in November and is already home to $169.4 million in assets under management. The ETF allocates nearly 27 percent of its combined weight to Japanese and French bonds. Six of IAGG&#39;s top 10 country weights are nations with negative interest rates.
There are valid reasons for investors that are heavily allocated to U.S. debit to consider an ETF such as IAGG.
&ldquo;If a portfolio&rsquo;s fixed income allocation is entirely made up of U.S.-only bonds, it likely means that if U.S. bonds have had a bad year, so has the portfolio&rsquo;s fixed income exposure. But if a portfolio holds a basket of bonds from different countries, bond prices of one country may be rising while bond prices of another may be falling. This way, price movements of bonds from different countries can help offset one another,&rdquo; added BlackRock.
IAGG has an effective duration of 7.38 years and a weighted average coupon of 2.77 percent.
