Previously, cryptocurrencies were classified as indefinite-lived intangible assets, which required corporations to account for impairment charges.
Holmes said that the new mark-to-market standards are &#8220;really important,&#8221; paving the way for more companies to enter the Bitcoin market. 
He also shared that HIVE has been a pioneer in&nbsp;using Bitcoin as a&nbsp;balance sheet asset, deeming it a &#8220;proxy&#8221; for those hesitant to invest in the asset through cryptocurrency exchanges.

Fortuna Mining Corp. The San Jose Mine was scheduled to initiate a progressive closure process starting in early 2025.
Details of the Transaction
Under the terms of the Letter Agreement, MDB will acquire all of the issued and outstanding shares of Cuzcatlan held by Fortuna's subsidiaries for the aggregate consideration of:

<li>US$2 million payable on closing of the Transaction;</li>
<li>a further US$2 million payable on the first anniversary of closing the Transaction;</li>
<li>a final US$2 million payable on the second anniversary of closing the Transaction; and</li>
<li>the right to receive up to approximately US$11 million upon the completion of certain conditions.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
In addition, Fortuna will receive a 1.0 percent net smelter royalty on production from the San Jose Mine concessions, for a 5-year term as of the start of production.
The completion of the Transaction is subject to customary conditions of closing and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025. INFOR Financial Inc. acted as financial advisor to Fortuna.

Nokia Signs Multi-Year Video Technologies Licensing Deal With Samsung

Howard Marks, the co-founder, and co-chairman of Oaktree Capital Management, who predicted the dot-com bubble 25 years ago has alerted investors about cautionary signs in the market in his latest <a href="https://www.oaktreecapital.com/insights/memo/on-bubble-watch">paper</a> called, &#8220;On Bubble Watch&#8221;.
What Happened: According to Marks, these cautionary signs include the over-optimism in the market, ongoing AI hype, reliance on &#8216;Magnificent Seven&#8217; stocks, and index investing bias.
Even though Marks doesn&#8217;t &#8220;speak authoritatively about whether we're in a bubble,&#8221; in his paper, he does say that investors shouldn't be indifferent to these signs.

The conviction that stocks are impervious to overvaluation, leads to the belief that &#8220;there&#8217;s no price too high.&#8221;

Why It Matters: About 25 years ago on Jan. 7, 2000, Marks published a memo called <a href="https://www.oaktreecapital.com/docs/default-source/memos/2000-01-02-bubble.pdf?sfvrsn=37bc0f65_2">bubble.com</a>, and the subject was the irrational behavior he thought was taking place with respect to tech, internet, and e-commerce stocks. This was how he predicted the dot-com bubble. 
&#8220;But for me, a bubble or crash is more a state of mind than a quantitative calculation,&#8221; he added.
Marks warranted that investors should not avoid today's market valuations.
Drawing examples from the 2000 bubble, he highlighted the twenty companies that were the most heavily represented in the index. At the beginning of 2024, however, only six of them were still in the top twenty. Importantly, of today's &#8216;Magnificent Seven,&#8217; only Microsoft Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>) was in the top twenty 25 years ago.
&#8220;In bubbles, investors treat the leading companies – and pay for their stocks – as though the firms are sure to remain leaders for decades,&#8221; he said.
He acknowledged counterarguments suggesting the market might not be in a bubble. These included the observation that while the S&amp;P 500&#8217;s P/E ratio is elevated but not at an absurd level. Furthermore, he acknowledged that the &#8220;Magnificent Seven&#8221; are indeed exceptional companies, potentially justifying their high valuations.
Finally, he concluded that while the market appears expensive and perhaps slightly overheated, it doesn&#8217;t exhibit the irrational exuberance characteristic of a true bubble.

First Horizon Gears Up For Q4 Print; Here Are The Recent Forecast Changes From Wall Street's Most Accurate Analysts

SpaceX&#8217;s next test flight of its Starship launch vehicle will depend on weather, the company warned on Tuesday.
What Happened: The company is currently preparing to launch Starship on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. CT. However, whether the company will go ahead with the launch date or postpone it further will depend on the weather, company CEO Elon Musk said. 
&#8220;Starship Flight 7 launches tomorrow, provided weather is good,&#8221; Musk said on Tuesday. 
SpaceX also said in a post on social media platform X that the team at Starbase, Texas, is keeping a close eye on weather conditions.

Starship&#8217;s seventh flight test has been <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/space/25/01/42937833/elon-musks-spacex-delays-starship-7th-test-flight-to-wednesday">postponed multiple times</a> already. In December, Musk had pegged it for <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/42891052/spacexs-starship-7th-flight-test-now-slated-for-monday">Jan. 10</a>. 
Why It Matters: SpaceX has said that its Starship vehicle, currently <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/12/42718758/elon-musk-says-starship-will-get-fully-reusable-heat-shield-in-2025-i-am-confident">undergoing testing and development</a>, will launch from Starbase for its seventh test flight carrying 10 Starlink simulators which are similar in size and weight to the company&#8217;s next-generation Starlink satellites in a bid to demonstrate its capabilities in the satellite launch segment.
For the upcoming flight, SpaceX is looking to catch the two-stage vehicle's booster back at the launch pad at Starbase with the launch tower's metallic arms like on its fifth test flight in October. However, in case of any safety concerns, the company will splash it down in the Gulf of Mexico, it said.
The spacecraft, meanwhile, is slated to be splashed down in the Indian Ocean on the upcoming test.
While SpaceX has conducted 6 test flights of its ambitious launch vehicle to date, none of them carried any payload. The last test flight of Starship was in November.

JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs And 3 Stocks To Watch Heading Into Wednesday

The CNN Money Fear and Greed index remained in the &#8220;Fear&#8221; zone on Tuesday.
U.S. stocks settled mixed on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones index surging more than 200 points during the session following the release of PPI data. U.S. producer prices rose 0.2% month-over-month in December compared to 0.4% in November, and versus market estimates of 0.3%.
Big Tech shares fell on Tuesday, weighing on the Nasdaq index. Shares of NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) fell 1.1%, while Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/META#NASDAQ">META</a>) lost 2.3% during the session.
Investors are now awaiting the consumer price index report, due to be released today. Economists expect headline CPI to increase 0.3% in December.
Most sectors on the S&amp;P 500 closed on a positive note, with utilities, materials and financials stocks recording gains on Tuesday. However, communication services and health care stocks bucked the overall market trend, closing the session lower.
The Dow Jones closed higher by around 221 points to 42,518.28 on Tuesday. The S&amp;P 500 rose 0.11% to 5,842.91, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.23% at 19,044.39 during Tuesday's session.
Investors are awaiting earnings results from Citigroup (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/C#NYSE">C</a>), Goldman Sachs (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GS#NYSE">GS</a>) and JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JPM#NYSE">JPM</a>) today.
At a current reading of 26.6, the index remained in the &#8220;Fear&#8221; zone on Tuesday, versus a prior reading of 26.7.
