<h3 class="wp-block-heading">25% Tariffs On All Imports</h3>
In a relatively quiet trading session, both Mexican and Canadian assets saw a surge in volatility after President-elect Donald Trump pledged to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/etfs/currency-etfs/24/11/42190765/trumps-tariff-threats-slam-mexican-peso-canadian-dollar-only-the-beginning-of-a-sorely-needed-repricing-expert-warns">raise tariffs to 25% on all imports from Mexico and Canada</a>, citing efforts to combat drug trafficking and illegal immigration.
The Mexican peso dropped 2.5%, falling to 22.80 per U.S. dollar, a level of weakness not seen since August 2022. The iShares MSCI Mexico ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/EWW#NYSE">EWW</a>) also declined sharply, tumbling 2.9%.
President Claudia Sheinbaum responded with a retaliatory warning, suggesting Mexico could impose its own tariffs, escalating the risk of economic damage for both nations.
The Canadian dollar fared slightly better, sliding 0.7% but still reaching its lowest level in more than four years.
U.S. Treasury yields ticked higher, reversing some of the sharp declines seen on Monday following President-elect Trump's announcement of Scott Bessent as his pick for Treasury Secretary. Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) rose slightly by 0.7%, after logging its worst single-day performance in more than four months on Monday.

The U.S. Department of Justice's trial on proposed penalties against Alphabet's Google over its dominance in the online search market will not be delayed to accommodate any changes Trump administration officials wish to make, the judge overseeing the case said on Tuesday.
U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta said he would not move the trial, scheduled for April, for that purpose.
&nbsp;
"If there is going to be a re-evaluation of the remedies that are being requested, it needs to be done quickly," the judge said.
Prosecutors have asked the judge to order Google to sell its Chrome browser, share data and search results with rivals and take other measures - including possibly selling the Android mobile operating system.
Google has called the proposals staggering, and said they would harm American competitiveness.

ASP Isotopes Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ASPI#NASDAQ">ASPI</a>) shares are trading lower on Tuesday. The stock initially moved higher after the company announced it completed construction and started commissioning its Silicon-28 enrichment facility, but reversed course after a short seller issued a bearish report on the stock. What Happened: Short Seller Fuzzy Panda Research issued a bearish report on ASP Isotopes on Tuesday claiming the company is using &#8220;old, disregarded laser enrichment technology to masquerade as a new, cutting-edge Uranium enrichment company.&#8221;
Fuzzy Panda claimed that it uncovered multiple stock promoters who were paid to promote ASP Isotopes. The short seller also claimed that family members of Barry Honig and John Stetson, who are currently banned from penny stocks trading, have stakes in ASP Isotopes. 
A spokesperson for ASP Isotopes told Benzinga the Fuzzy Panda report includes inaccurate claims. 
&#8220;We are aware of the report by a known activist short seller who stands to realize gains by a company's shares declining in value,&#8221; the ASP Isotopes spokesperson said. 
&#8220;The report includes inaccurate claims and innuendo in an attempt to mislead investors. As a public company traded on Nasdaq, we direct investors to our public filings made with the SEC.&#8221;
Fuzzy Panda noted in the report that Cameco looked at ASP Isotope&#8217;s technology but decided to pass on investing. The short seller also noted that the company&#8217;s recent memorandum of understanding with Bill Gates-backed <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/10/41624818/asp-isotopes-stock-is-soaring-wednesday-whats-going-on" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">TerraPower</a>&nbsp;is non-binding and did not cost TerraPower anything to enter into.
ASP Isotopes shares raced higher at the end of October after the company signed a deal with&nbsp;TerraPower&nbsp;related to&nbsp;the construction of a uranium enrichment facility capable of producing&nbsp;High Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU). ASP Isotopes said last week that it has received interest from potential customers who collectively require over $37 billion of HALEU between now and 2037.
The short seller went on to cast doubt on the company&#8217;s ability to obtain licenses and called the company&#8217;s cost estimate forecasts &#8220;delusional.&#8221;

What Else: ASP Isotopes shares actually started the day higher after the company announced that construction of its Silicon-28 enrichment facility in South Africa was completed. The company began the commissioning phase on Tuesday and is targeting supplying commercial quantities of Silicon-28 during the first half of 2025.
Silicon-28 is an isotope that is believed to enable quantum computing and is also likely to improve the performance of next-gen AI chips. Highly enriched Silicon-28 is expected to be required by manufacturers of next-gen semiconductors, the company said. 
&#8220;To create faster, smaller next-generation semiconductors, the world is likely going to require materials that are currently not available in commercial quantities,&#8221; said Paul Mann, chairman and CEO of ASP Isotopes. 
&#8220;ASP Isotopes is currently working on many isotopically pure elements that we believe will help semiconductor companies create the chips that the world will require in the future to enable technologies such as quantum computing and artificial intelligence.&#8221;
ASP Isotopes said it already signed two supply agreements with U.S.-based customers for highly enriched Silicon-28. One of the customers is a semiconductor company and the other is an industrial gas company. ASP noted that it&#8217;s currently in discussions with multiple other potential customers and expects to sign more agreements within the next six months.

Included was a final decision related to CMS pricing for Exact Sciences Corp&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/EXAS#NASDAQ">EXAS</a>) Cologuard Plus, a second-generation test that received FDA <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/large-cap/24/10/41185292/fda-clears-exact-sciences-next-generation-colorectal-cancer-diagnostic-test" rel="noreferrer noopener">approval in October</a>.
William Blair writes that the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/fee-schedules/clinical-laboratory-fee-schedule-clfs/annual-public-meetings" rel="noreferrer noopener">determinations</a> effectively raise reimbursement by 16% versus the current Medicare rate for the first-generation Cologuard test (to $592 for Cologuard Plus from $509 for Cologuard).

The determination reverses the September preliminary decision but aligns with a proposal made during the public comment period.
The analyst writes that reimbursement for Cologuard Plus will now be calculated based on two components: three times the fee for methylation analysis of Septin-9 ($192 x 3) and the fee for a FIT test ($15.92).
This pricing adjustment is expected to take effect for Medicare volumes when the test officially launches in late first quarter or early second quarter of 2025. Medicare fee-for-service volumes should reflect the new pricing immediately upon launch, with Medicare Advantage following soon after.
The company is also likely to renegotiate commercial contracts for higher pricing, which may gradually roll out over the coming quarters and years.
William Blair reiterates the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/EXAS/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">Outperform rating on the stock.</a>
The analyst highlights that the update is a positive outcome for the company, as it simplifies the process of implementing a price increase compared to the more complex advanced diagnostic laboratory test (ADLT) pathway.
From a financial perspective, this decision is expected to support a moderate pricing boost starting in 2025. Based on William Blair&#8217;s estimates, this could add at least 300 basis points to Cologuard's growth rate next year, which is projected to be around 15% overall.

One of the world's largest investment groups is in talks to help finance a £550m takeover of The Daily Telegraph by the owner of The New York Sun.
Sky News has learnt that Apollo Global Management, which oversees assets worth $733bn, has been holding initial talks with Dovid Efune and his advisers in recent days about lending part of the money required for the deal.
Banking sources said on Tuesday that the discussions were preliminary in nature and might not lead to an agreement.
Other debt providers are also in talks with Mr Efune, the sources added.
The development has emerged just three days before an exclusivity period for the US-based businessman expires, although insiders say it is almost certain to be extended.
Apollo ranks among the world's biggest financial institutions and is a major player in both private equity and private credit around the globe.
In the last fortnight, a string of media reports have cast doubt on Mr Efune's ability to complete the deal, with potential lenders including Oaktree Capital Management and Hudson Bay Capital said to have withdrawn from the process.

According to Orman, most retirees depend on their retirement accounts, such as Roth or traditional IRAs, to fund their monthly living expenses. These accounts often hold investments in stocks, bonds or mutual funds. While these assets grow over time, their value fluctuates with the market.&nbsp;
Orman says the problem arises when retirees need to withdraw money from their accounts during a market crash. Orman explains that keeping three to five years&#8217; worth of expenses is important because that's how long it often takes the markets to recover from significant downturns. Having enough cash for that time minimizes the need to sell at a loss, ensuring retirees can leave their investments alone long enough to regain their value.&nbsp;
It usually takes the markets longer to recover during a recession. According to Invesco, the average decline during the "more mild" recessions in the '80s and '90s was around 20% and the stock market recovered from these within one to two years.&nbsp;

Suze Orman Says To Have At Least 3 To 5 Years Of Cash Available When Retired: Here's Why

On Tuesday, Embecta Corp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/EMBC#NASDAQ">EMBC</a>) posted&nbsp;the fourth-quarter adjusted EPS of 45 cents, beating the consensus of 36 cents and down from 59 cents reported a year ago.
The company reported quarterly sales of $286.1 million, up 1.5% year over year, beating the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/11/g42184816/embecta-corp-reports-fiscal-2024-fourth-quarter-and-full-year-financial-results-provides-initial-f" rel="noreferrer noopener">consensus of $277 million</a>.
&#8220;We are pleased to report a strong fourth quarter and end to our fiscal year, as we once again delivered results that exceeded our expectations across key financial metrics&#8230;Additionally, the recent launch of our small-pack GLP-1 needles in Germany has gone well, and we are evaluating expanding into other markets,&#8221; said Devdatt (Dev) Kurdikar, Chief Executive Officer of Embecta.
The Becton, Dickinson and Company (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BDX#NYSE">BDX</a>) spin-off announced that it decided to discontinue its insulin patch pump program and plans to initiate a restructuring plan.
In July, Embecta, a manufacturer of disposable&nbsp;insulin pen needles&nbsp;and syringes, said it is considering a potential sale following a significant drop in its share price since being spun off from health tech <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/m-a/24/07/39916116/insulin-device-maker-embecta-weighs-sale-after-70-share-decline-following-becton-dickinson-spin-off" rel="noreferrer noopener">giant&nbsp;Becton, Dickinson</a>.
&#8220;We intend to concentrate our resources on our core business and to prioritize our free cash flow towards paying down debt, which we expect will give us the financial flexibility needed for future investments,&#8221; Kurdikar said.
Embecta expects between $25 million and $30 million in pre-tax, cash charges for planned workforce reductions and other associated costs from the discontinuation of its patch pump program.
In total, Embecta expects between $35 million and $45 million in pre-tax charges in 2025 related to its restructuring plan. It anticipates completing the restructuring in the first half of 2025. Embecta projects annual cost savings of $60 million to $65 million from this restructuring.
Given the organizational restructuring plan, the company has postponed its Analyst &amp; Investor Day to Spring 2025.
Guidance: Embecta says that for the fiscal year 2025, excluding the Patch Pump program, revenues are expected to be $1.093 billion—$1.11 billion compared to a consensus of $1.12 billion, with an adjusted EPS of $2.70—$2.90 versus the consensus of $2.27.

About the Transaction

The business combination implies a pro forma enterprise value of the combined company of approximately&nbsp;$334 million. The combined company is expected to receive gross cash proceeds of up to&nbsp;$316 million, comprising the&nbsp;$276 million&nbsp;held in Iris&#39; trust account (assuming no redemptions by public shareholders of Iris) and a concurrent, committed&nbsp;$15 million&nbsp;equity PIPE financing of common stock issued at&nbsp;$10.00&nbsp;per share and&nbsp;$25 million&nbsp;convertible note financing with an initial conversion rate of&nbsp;$11.50&nbsp;per share of common stock, subject to future adjustments based upon the price of Iris&#39; publicly traded common stock. The combined company will bear deferred underwriting commissions and transaction expenses out of the gross proceeds.
