HitBit Pro has helped Ukrainians make international money transfers and is trying to provide an experience similar to fiat and Web2 money transfer services.
"For Ukrainians, it's a great solution to the challenges caused by the restrictions imposed by the National Bank of Ukraine on international transactions. The limits are very low, which makes it hard for families living abroad to transfer money from Ukraine. With HitBit Pro, you can use SEPA to wire money, pay rent, school fees, or even doctors, without relying only on cards," Kucherenko said.
HitBit Pro allows a one-time payment limit of 10,000 euros and a daily transaction limit of 50,000 euros. It also offers physical cards and standard ATM and local bank fees apply.
The goal of HitBit Pro is to provide a seamless service for transfers and payments that bridges the gap between cryptocurrency and traditional finance (TradFi) users. To do that, the company must overcome the perception of cryptocurrency as innately speculative.
"Instead of using traditional fiat cards with lots of restrictions, regulations and compliance, users can use our platform. For most people, when they hear crypto, they think of speculation, investments and volatility. HitBit Pro has nothing to do with that. It's like using fiat, but you pay into your account with crypto instead," said Kucherenko.
Kucherenko described the platform as a conventional nano-bank technology that allows a Visa- or Mastercard-like experience. The only difference is on the backend where payments are made using cryptocurrency instead of fiat.
"The idea is to build a bridge for the 90% of people who have never experienced crypto, showing them how it can be part of their daily lives,&#8221; said Kucherenko.
&#8220;Cash has become almost obsolete now. Transactions are electronic, whether it's traditional money or crypto. There's no real difference between fiat and crypto on the front end for users. When you're traveling, for instance, if you're using a U.S. card in Bali, the system automatically handles currency conversion. The same applies to crypto. The system handles the conversion seamlessly if you have USDT or any other cryptocurrency," said the HitBit Pro co-founder.
Kucherenko compares the HitBit Pro experience to Apple Pay, Google Pay or other popular web-based payment methods. Users don't need to understand blockchain, mining or any technical details. And Flightradar24 data further shows that the aircraft delivered in November actually flew for five days in early February to cities in Alaska and then to Seattle before ending up at the Southern California Logistics Airport in Victorville, where Boeing has a facility that performs specialized repairs, maintenance and modifications on Boeing aircraft. Spirit Aerosystems&nbsp;(NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPR#NYSE">SPR</a>) workers who conducted the repair failed to reinstall four bolts holding the door, according to the National Transportation Safety Board.

Boeing Quality Issue Delays Alaska Airlines' Converted Freighters

<div>Global Crossing Airlines (OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JETBF#OTC">JETBF</a>), a hybrid passenger-cargo charter airline based in Miami, on Thursday was the first commercial airline to fly into Haiti since warring gangs closed the main airport in Port-au-Prince in early March. The Airbus A321 converted cargo jet carried U.S. State Department humanitarian aid for the ravaged country.&nbsp;</div>

Coordinated gang attacks on institutions and residents have paralyzed the Caribbean nation since late February, worsening difficult living conditions and creating tens of thousands of refugees from the capital. Aid agencies are warning of potential famine. A new transitional governing council took office Thursday after Prime Minister Ariel Henry, who was out of the country when the attacks started, resigned.&nbsp;

The Global Crossing (GlobalX) flight, which carried material and equipment for the local police force, was operated on behalf of the State Department and coordinated by U.S. Southern Command, which also brought in a C-130 Air Force plane with 20 pallets of oral rehydration fluid, the Miami Herald reported.

The startup airline also completed more than 50 passenger evacuation flights out of Cape Haitian earlier in the crisis. The charter operator launched commercial service in August 2021 and now has 11 A320-family narrowbody passenger jets and four A321 converted freighters in its fleet. Freighter operations began in early summer 2023.&nbsp;

Two of the cargo jets are temporarily inactive but should resume commercial service this week, President and CFO Ryan Goepel said via email.&nbsp;

In February, the company said it would focus investments on growing the passenger fleet because hot demand from sports teams, government agencies, tour operators and other groups offered a quicker path to profitability while cargo demand remained lukewarm following a lengthy market downturn.

Revenue last year increased by two-thirds from 2022 as GlobalX added more aircraft. The company lost $21 million, but earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortization and rent increased fourfold to $20 million, a way to measure operational performance by removing variable lease costs for aircraft.<script async src=""https://securepubads.g.doubleclick.net/tag/js/gpt.js""></script>

Management indicated during a March 6 earnings briefing that one of its freighters was parked for two months to have a door repaired.&nbsp;

Goepel told FreightWaves the cargo door was not sealing properly to allow it to stay pressurized. The used passenger jet was reconfigured for cargo service by 321 Precision Conversions, a Florida-based joint venture between engineering firm Precision Aircraft Solutions and vertically integrated Air Transport Services Group (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ATSG#NASDAQ">ATSG</a>).

The aircraft was fixed in March, but GlobalX took advantage of having the plane at a repair facility to also conduct a routine major aircraft maintenance inspection that typically takes several weeks to complete, he said. An agreement was negotiated with the lessor to compensate GlobalX for lost revenue while the aircraft was out of service.&nbsp;
