The Fund principally invests intraditional fixed income sectors (for example, investment gradecorporate bonds), while also having the flexibility to allocate itsassets to extended sectors such as below investment gradesecurities (also known as high yield or junk bonds) and foreignand emerging markets debt. The Fund may invest in corporatebonds, U.S. treasury obligations and other U.S. government andagency securities, asset-backed, mortgage-related andmortgage-backed securities, mortgage TBAs, private place-ments, credit risk transfer securities, credit-linked notes,restricted securities and other unregistered securities, and vari-able and floating rate instruments. Under normal conditions, atleast 70% of the Funds net assets must be invested in securitiesthat, at the time of purchase, are rated investment grade by anationally recognized statistical rating organization (NRSRO) orin securities that are unrated but are deemed by the adviser tobe of comparable quality. The Fund will not invest more than30% of its net assets in below investment grade securities (orthe unrated equivalent) under normal conditions. Up to 25% ofthe Funds net assets may be invested in foreign securitiesincluding sovereign and agency debt.
