A dozen eggs costs $4.95 nationwide on average and the U.S. Department of Agriculture predicts the cost could rise another 45% in 2025 as bird flu cases rise.

"These people don't have enough money to buy a dozen eggs, so I have to sell them separately," Pamel's Green Deli owner Fernando Rodriguez told the Post. "When I saw how high the price of eggs has become, we decided to break it down into small bags."
Rodriguez said the store previously sold a dozen eggs for $2.49 before the recent spikes related to bird flu. A plastic bag of three eggs now sells for $2.99 at the store.
The store, which serves a large number of low-income consumers, is seeing demand for the loosies over buying a dozen eggs at a time. Rodriguez said around one-third of the store's customers are buying the three packs rather than the dozen eggs.
Rodriguez, who is from the Dominican Republic, said that his home country used to sell single eggs. "I know how difficult it is for families to afford eggs and milk."
Other bodegas are catching on to the practice and using the same method. According to the report, selling cigarettes individually is illegal and selling eggs out of the dozen could also be a potential illegal practice.

RBC Capital Markets: The analyst notes that while Enterprise revenue is showing positive growth with improvements in key metrics, including a 13% year-over-year increase in take rates, there is also a positive impact from AI.
However, the analyst writes that GSV is still declining, and a recovery might depend on macroeconomic factors, as other initiatives may not have an effect until 2026.
Erickson raises estimates, but remains cautious about giving a more positive rating until clearer signals of long-term growth are seen. The analyst raised the FY25 adjusted EBITDA estimate to $187.5 million from $176.5 million.
Needham: The analyst sees a slow macro environment in 2025, with lower take rate benefits and a decline in GSV and revenue year-over-year. The company plans to focus on AI, Enterprise, and Ads &amp; monetization in this investment year, aiming for growth in 2026 and beyond.
Despite these challenges, the analyst models an 8% growth in adjusted EBITDA, driven by 250 basis points of margin expansion, which remains a strong element of the Upwork story while waiting for macro conditions to improve.
The analyst is raising FY25 revenue and adjusted EBITDA estimates by 3% and 9%, respectively, due to higher take rate assumptions, though slightly offset by lower GSV expectations.
This adjustment follows the company&#8217;s better-than-expected performance in the fourth quarter, with revenue exceeding expectations by 6% and adjusted EBITDA by 25%.
Piper Sandler: The analyst notes that Upwork is concentrating on controllable factors, investing in AI, enterprise, and ads/monetization for growth.

Upwork Gains On AI And Enterprise Growth, But Analysts See Macro Challenges Limiting Upside

On Wednesday,&nbsp;CVS Health Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CVS#NYSE">CVS</a>) reported fourth-quarter sales of $97.71 billion, beating the&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">consensus of $97.19 billion</a>.
Total revenues increased 4.2%, driven by growth in the Health Care Benefits and Pharmacy &amp; Consumer Wellness segments, partially offset by a decline in the&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/02/43655820/cvs-health-stock-surges-on-better-than-expected-q4-earnings-upbeat-annual-outlook" rel="noreferrer noopener">Health Services segment</a>.
The Medical benefit ratio increased from 88.5% to 94.8% compared to the prior year, driven by increased utilization, the unfavorable impact of the previously disclosed decline in the company&#8217;s Medicare Advantage star ratings for the 2024 payment year, and the impact of higher acuity in Medicaid.
Truist analyst noted that CVS Health&#8217;s fourth-quarter results were mostly better than expected, and the company provided strong guidance for 2025.
In its business segments, revenue projections for Health Services and Pharmacy &amp; Consumer exceeded expectations. However, the Health Care Benefits (HCB) segment fell short due to lower-than-expected membership growth.
Meanwhile, the medical benefit ratio (MBR) is expected to improve by 1 percentage point year-over-year, reaching at least 91.5%, which aligns with prior estimates and is slightly better than the 92.0% consensus.
Analyst David MacDonald writes CVS expects its Medicare Advantage (MA) margins to improve in 2025 from the negative 4.5% to 5.0% range seen in 2024, though they won&#8217;t break even yet. Management reaffirmed their long-term goal of a 3% to 5% margin.
For the overall business, CVS projects Health Care Benefits (HCB) margins to reach 1.5% in 2025, significantly lower than 5%+ in 2023 and 7% in 2022.
Management noted that each percentage point of HCB margin improvement adds about $0.75 to adjusted EPS, implying a $3 to $4 earnings boost if margins return to target levels over time.
<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/10/41279374/cvs-health-positioned-for-medicare-margin-expansion-and-market-share-gains-says-bar" rel="noreferrer noopener">CostVantage is gaining traction</a>, with all commercial contracts using the model as of January 1, Truist writes. The company is also developing a cost-based approach for Medicare and Medicaid.
For 2025, revenue is projected to reach at least $134 billion, surpassing the previous estimate of $128 billion, driven by slightly higher prescription volumes (1.77 billion vs. 1.74 billion previously expected). The company sees 2025 as a transition year for CostVantage, with stronger growth potential in the future.
Finally, while leverage remains above the company&#8217;s long-term target, Truist expects better operational performance, especially at Aetna, to drive improvement over time.
The analyst maintains the Buy rating with an increased price forecast of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/CVS/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">$76, up from $60</a>.
