While many factors are beyond their control, financial guru Suze Orman argues that Gen Z's focus on fashion exacerbates their financial struggles.

However, not all experts agree with <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/06/39278008/youre-setting-up-the-entire-family-for-trouble-suze-orman-warns-against-this-common-retirement-m">Orman's assessment</a>. Some argue that while they may not increase their wealth the way Orman would like them to, they are investing.
"Surveys and studies have shown that <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/personal-finance/24/06/39296729/i-am-no-longer-your-bank-account-suze-orman-tells-gen-xers-and-boomers-to-cut-off-freeloading-ad">Gen Z</a> is already investing earlier than generations before them," said Alex Blackwood, CEO and co-founder at Mogul Club. "Even for those without the funds to invest significantly, two-thirds believe in the opportunity of the stock market to build wealth."
While there may be disagreement over whether Orman is correct in her assessment of Gen Z's spending habits, there's no denying that TikTok holds significant value for this generation. In addition to being a platform for spending, TikTok has become a lucrative avenue for Gen Zers to earn money as influencers.

"Depending on the agreements arranged with brands and influencers, the pay can range from $100 a post to a few thousand dollars depending on various factors such as platform and number of followers," said Mawuli Vodi, speaker, educator and author at Financially Present. "This money can more than satisfy the monthly investment contribution Orman is referring to, even if it happens to be on TikTok."
Vodi also notes that dressing cool on TikTok can help Gen Zers make money if they are influencers or brand ambassadors. She points out that social media has changed to a point that gamers can stream live and earn money by playing video games.
"The current influencer and content creator climate allows young people to monetize their efforts more than they would have if they went door to door mowing lawns and shoveling snow," Vodi said. "Considering the power of TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, Discord, Reddit and Twitch, there are multiple platforms for younger generations to use and monetize – which can further their financial contributions to investing."

Michael Santiago, senior financial editor at Annuity.org, said that Orman's stance on Gen Z needing to invest at an early age is on target.
"However, I cannot agree with her generalization of young people as financially mindless and valuing ‘dressing cool' and cultivating their social media profile above all else," he said. "There are more than a few Gen Zers that exhibit troubling behavior, but we need to assess this demographic in a thoughtful manner."

Analysts are forecasting a 10% dip in growth for BAC over the next quarter. Banks are typically hard-hit by recession, as rising defaults cut into their earnings. In any case, it seems that mainstream analysts see the same potential for trouble for BAC in the months ahead that Warren Buffett does.

Buffett has been very bullish on oil and gas stocks in the post-Covid years, so it's interesting that he's unloaded 30.6 million shares of the energy giant last quarter.
At one time, Chevron was the fifth-largest holding in Berkshire Hathaway's portfolio. But it's possible that Buffett sees a prolonged period of lower energy prices ahead, since recessions and other economic drawdowns always reduce energy demand, and therefore profits for oil and gas companies.
Nationally, gas prices are already over 50 cents cheaper per gallon than they were a year ago… and they're still falling, thanks to a few factors including an unusually mild hurricane season and the rise of electric vehicles.
Chevron, not coincidentally, is joining a host of energy companies coming under pressure. It reported a decline in quarterly earnings of 26.2%, and grew revenues by just 4.8% last quarter on a year-over-year basis.

FMC delivered better-than-expected results in the second quarter on the back of higher volumes. It saw improved demand in the quarter, leading to an increase in sales volumes, especially in the United States and Brazil. The company is gaining from efforts to expand its product portfolio through new product launches and restructuring actions.
FMC is investing in technologies as well as new product launches to enhance value to the farmers. New products launched in Europe, North America and Asia are gaining significant traction. Product introductions are expected to support the company&#39;s results this year.
The company generated $590 million in sales in 2023 from new products launched in the past five years. It expects revenues from new products to grow by roughly $200 million in 2024. It expects a significant amount of volume growth to come from new products in the second half of 2024. FMC is seeing strong gains in new products including Coragen eVo and Premio Star insecticides and the Onsuva fungicide in Latin America.
The acquisition of BioPhero ApS, a Denmark-based pheromone research and production company, also adds biologically produced state-of-the-art pheromone insect control technology to the company&#39;s product portfolio and R&amp;D pipeline, highlighting FMC&#39;s role as a leader in delivering innovative and sustainable crop protection solutions.
FMC is also expected to benefit from reduced input costs, a favorable product mix and its cost-control actions. It benefited from favorable input costs in the second quarter of 2024. FMC is also making progress with its global restructuring and cost-reduction program. It sees benefits from restructuring to contribute $75-$100 million to full-year 2024 adjusted EBITDA, net of inflation.

FMC Shares Rise 10% in 3 Months: What's Driving the Stock?

Monday, Cytokinetics, Incorporated&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CYTK#NASDAQ">CYTK</a>) announced that data from the Phase 1 study of CK-4021586 (CK-586) were presented in a poster session at the American College of Clinical Pharmacology Annual <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/09/g40770281/cytokinetics-announces-data-from-phase-1-study-of-ck-4021586" rel="noreferrer noopener">Meeting in Bethesda, MD</a>.
The study met its primary and secondary objectives to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of single and multiple oral doses of CK-586.
CK-586 is a cardiac myosin inhibitor in development for the potential treatment of a subgroup of patients with symptomatic HFpEF with hypercontractility and ventricular hypertrophy.
The study data showed that CK-586 was safe and well tolerated in healthy participants.
No serious adverse events were observed, and the stopping criteria for the study were not met.
The half-life of CK-586 was observed to be in the range of 14 to 17 hours.
CK-586 demonstrated dose-linearity without a change in half-life over a wide range of exposures, with steady-state appearing evident within seven days of dosing.
Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and left ventricular fractional shortening (LVFS) decreased from baseline in an exposure-dependent manner, and the pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) relationship appeared shallow and predictable.
The ejection fraction measures how well the heart is functioning. It's expressed as a percentage and indicates how much blood the heart pumps out with each contraction. At the highest single dose of 600 mg, the mean decrease in LVEF was &lt;5%.
These results demonstrate pharmacologic properties that may enable once-daily fixed-dose administration in the future. Preparations for a Phase 2 clinical trial in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) are underway, and the trial is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024.
