EV giant Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) is now looking to hire data labelers in Utah for <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/07/39705124/tesla-giving-special-treatment-to-musk-and-high-profile-vip-drivers-in-fsd-development-report">data from its fleet of vehicles</a> as well as its Tesla bots.
What Happened: Tesla posted job openings on social media platform X and its career page.
The employees will work with in-house tools to label data coming from the company&#8217;s large fleet of vehicles as well as data from its humanoid bots which are under development. The data will include images and videos and the labeling will contribute to advancing the software aimed at making them operate autonomously. 
&#8220;No&nbsp;previous&nbsp;experience in AI or data labeling&nbsp;required. The perfect candidate for this role is adaptable, can apply logic to multiple different scenarios, is attentive to detail, has experience with computers and other software, and enjoys a fast-paced work environment,&#8221;&nbsp;the company says in the job description. The candidate must also have a working knowledge of the laws and rules of the road, it added. 
The job will be full-time and would require the employee to work from 9 am to 5:30 pm for five days a week in Utah.
Why It Matters: Tesla uses the visual road data that it gains from its car fleet to train their software how to respond autonomously to them. The company is hopeful that its autopilot and full self-driving (FSD) software, which currently serve as driver assistance systems, will enable autonomous driving with time and more training. 
Last year, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the company would start deploying self-driving Model 3 and Model Y vehicles in Texas and California for ride-hailing in 2025, provided it gets the necessary regulatory clearances.
However, the vehicles might not all operate as driverless robotaxis but with a driver as some states demand it until the company touches certain milestones in terms of miles and hours driven, the company then said. Musk, known for overestimating his company's products, expressed confidence about the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/top-stories/24/10/41279865/elon-musk-may-unveil-teslas-robotaxi-but-consumers-respond-with-ehhh-new-study-reveals-skepticism-ne" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">company operating driverless paid rides sometime in 2025</a>.
However, it is important to note that FSD has yet to enable autonomous driving and still requires active driver supervision. 
As for Tesla bots, Musk said in July that the EV company would have "genuinely useful" humanoid robots in low production for use within its factories in 2025. The company will "hopefully" increase production for other customers in 2026, he said.
Musk expects to be&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/03/37950895/elon-musk-says-cost-of-making-an-optimus-is-half-that-of-manufacturing-a-tesla-ev-despite-complexity" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">able to sell Optimus, as the bots are called, at $10,000 or $20,000</a>, at a lower price point than Tesla&#8217;s cheapest Model 3 sedan, once it reaches high-volume production.

Hal Sperlich, the automotive genius behind the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/04/38285214/fords-mustang-gallops-into-60th-year-still-a-pony-with-plenty-of-kick">Ford Mustang</a>, passed away on Monday at 95. 
What Happened: Sperlich is best known as the chief architect behind the Ford Mustang and the Chrysler minivan. A Detroit and Saginaw native, Sperlich trained to be an engineer at the University of Michigan. He joined Ford in 1957 as a product planner and went on to develop the Mustang.
After leaving Ford, Sperlich joined Chrysler in 1977 and directed the company&#8217;s engineering personnel to develop a front-wheel-drive platform that became the &#8220;K-Car&#8221; which later gave rise to the company&#8217;s minivans. He was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame in 2009.

Lithium demand is under intense demand. All as the world fights to go green. In fact, demand is still expected to grow seven times over between 2021 and 2030 thanks to electric vehicles, demand for renewable energy, and its continued used in electronics, says iShares.com.

Unfortunately, the world doesn&rsquo;t have enough supply to meet that demand. And it may not for quite some time, if at all. For one, according to CNBC, &ldquo;hundreds of lithium projects are currently under exploration, but the complexity in geology and time-consuming permitting process still pose challenges.&rdquo;

Automakers are so concerned about supply, they&rsquo;re racing to secure supply. For instance,&nbsp;Albemarle&nbsp;will deliver more than 100,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide over a five-year period to support&nbsp;Ford&nbsp;EVs. General Motors just invested $650 million into Lithium Americas&rsquo; Thacker Pass mine, where the miner estimates the lithium extracted and processed from the project can support production of up to 1&nbsp;million EVs per year.

Also, remember, according to Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares, there&rsquo;s not enough lithium go around for the industry&rsquo;s plans. &ldquo;We know that we need lithium. We know that we are not producing as much as we need. We have right now 1.3 billion cars (that are) internal combustion engine powered on the planet. We need to replace that with clean mobility. That will need a lot of lithium. Not only the lithium may not be enough, but the concentration of the mining of lithium may create other geopolitical issues,&rdquo; he said, as quoted by The Detroit News.

However, those concerns could lead to opportunity with Lancaster Resources Inc. Lancaster Resources Inc. (CSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LCR#CSE">LCR</a>) (OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LANRF#OTC">LANRF</a>)&nbsp; &ndash; which is exploring energy transition metals to take advantage of the global shift towards decarbonization and electrification. Its Alkali Flat Lithium Project, in Lordsburg, New Mexico, USA, involves the exploration of a below-surface lithium brine target.

Lancaster also just acquired the rights to a 100% interest in the Trans-Taiga Lithium Property located within the James Bay lithium district of Quebec, and lying on the same fault as significant lithium discoveries, including Patriot Metals&rsquo; Corvette Property.

Even better, the company just announced results from its Magneto-Telluric (MT) geophysics program.&nbsp; The MT program targeted highly conductive stratigraphic units (layers) to further delineate drill targets in a highly prospective area on the NE part of the property.

KLM Geoscience successfully completed the detailed MT program including data acquisition and inversions.&nbsp; The MT survey consisted of three east-west lines with ~500m spacing between receivers and lines.&nbsp;

The MT results along with Lancaster&rsquo;s recent exploratory and geochemical results have highlighted multiple high priority drill locations believed to host lithium-rich aquifers. &nbsp; Results indicate a near surface low resistivity layer ~150m deep along with a deeper low resistivity layer at ~660m sub-surface.&nbsp; Results also confirm the N-S trending basin continues from Arizona Lithium claims through Lancaster&rsquo;s.

With the exciting progress made over the last few months, Lancaster is now preparing regulatory and permitting applications for a Phase 1 Drilling program in late 2023.&nbsp; Lancaster is preparing applications to the BLM and EMNRD (New Mexico) for three wells and a follow up full claim area geophysics program (2024).

&quot;The results are extremely encouraging and we are planning to proceed with further exploration and development work. The successful MT program strengthens our view on the opportunity of Alkali Flats containing a concentrated lithium subsurface aquifer. Submitting our regulatory applications for follow up drilling is our next priority as we continue to develop Alkali Flats to power the energy transition.&rdquo; remarks Andrew Watson, Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Lancaster.

Lancaster Resources Inc&nbsp;(OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LANRF#OTC">LANRF</a>) on August 29, 2023, agreed to replace the Letter of Intent entered into on July 23, 2023 to acquire 100% of the Trans Taiga Lithium Project (Property) in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Quebec.&nbsp;

The Property, hosting several historical pegmatite samples, lies ~120 km west of Patriot Battery Metals&rsquo; Corvette Project, ~74 km west of Winsome Resources&rsquo; Cancet Project, and a few kilometers east of Loyal Lithium&rsquo;s Brisk Lithium Project.

The Property covers 1,432 hectares and is located between La Grande and Opinaca Subprovinces.&nbsp;

The Corvette Project is notable for its hard rock lithium project, presenting lithium grades up to 5.10% lithium oxide (Li2O). Winsome&rsquo;s Cancet reported grades up to 5.6% Li2O.

Additionally, with its six separate claim blocks, Loyal Lithium&rsquo;s Brisk Project reports that Block 1, located just a few kilometers west of the Property, holds the most significant lithium potential.

The Lithium District in Eeyou Istchee James Bay, Quebec, is rapidly becoming one of the nation&rsquo;s leading lithium districts, boasting ten advanced projects and multiple early-stage discoveries.&nbsp;

The Whabouchi mine is one of the largest lithium deposits worldwide, with a Mineral Resource measuring 36.6 Mt at 1.3% Li2O.

With the acquisition of the Property, Lancaster diversified its exploration projects.&nbsp;

Lancaster&rsquo;s focus expands from its existing lithium brine exploration at the Alkali Flat Project in New Mexico to include hard rock lithium exploration in Quebec&rsquo;s James Bay region.&nbsp;

This strategic move enhances Lancaster&rsquo;s exploration capabilities and geographical diversity, positioning it to unlock different types of lithium resources in varied geological settings.

Lancaster plans to embark on an exploration campaign on the Property to identify lithium-rich areas through geophysical programs, detailed geological mapping, and evaluate the lithium content through sampling and geochemical analysis.&nbsp;

Lancaster has the exclusive option to acquire full ownership of the Trans Taiga Lithium Project for a total initial payment commitment of $115,000.

A 2% net smelter returns (NSR) royalty is due to the original property owners, which can be reduced to 1% if Lancaster opts to make a collective payment of $1,000,000.
