On Thursday, H. B. Fuller Company (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FUL#NYSE">FUL</a>) disclosed its unaudited preliminary financial results for fiscal year 2024, highlighting weaker-than-expected <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/01/b42763305/h-b-fuller-announces-preliminary-fiscal-year-2024-results" rel="noreferrer noopener">conditions in the fourth quarter.</a>
The company now projects fiscal year 2024 net revenue to reach approximately $3.57 billion versus $3.576 billion estimate (prior view: ~$3.581 billion), with adjusted earnings per share of $3.84 versus the analyst consensus estimate of $4.16 (<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com//node/41034261" rel="noreferrer noopener">prior view: $4.10 to $4.20</a>).
The company currently expects Adjusted EBITDA of approximately $594 million, representing a revision from previous guidance, which had forecasted adjusted EBITDA in the range of $610 million to $620 million.
The fourth-quarter performance was negatively impacted by delayed customer orders and weaker-than-expected demand in key sectors, including consumer product goods, packaging, and durable goods distribution.

Celeste Mastin, President and CEO, acknowledged the market slowdown and emphasized the company's response, including new pricing actions, cost controls, and ongoing restructuring initiatives to streamline manufacturing and reduce operating costs.
H. B. Fuller also expects operating cash flow to be approximately $300 million for fiscal 2024, down from the prior outlook of $325 million&nbsp;&#8211; $350 million.
The company will release its full financial results on January 15, 2025, followed by an investor conference call on <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">January 16, 2025, to discuss the results.</a>

Perhaps the most striking aspect of Moglia's interview was his admission that he's "the most bullish on the market that he's been in 10 years," which should encourage investors. When the hosts asked him why he felt this way, Moglia quickly said, "The president, we've got someone in there who is pro-business, pro-markets." He also noted how President-Elect Trump has warmed up to Cryptocurrency, a change from several years ago.

He also suggested several potential starting points for retail traders when he said, "The<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/11/41756882/magnificent-7-basket-notches-over-200-gain-since-bidens-election-how-did-tech-giants-perform-und"> Magnificent Seven</a> is a good place to be" and suggested tracking Cathie Wood's trades in this sector. Moglia also detailed how he, much like the President-Elect, has evolved his views on cryptocurrency and is now very much in favor of it being part of retail investor portfolios.
He expanded that by saying, "You've got the crypto play, which I think five years ago or two years ago, that may have been overly aggressive, but I think you have to be involved now." Although Moglia's ideal portfolio holdings have changed from 10 years ago, he remains a proponent of the "barbell method," where the portfolio is equally balanced on each side with risk and growth, with long-term holdings in between for balance.&nbsp;

Moglia also explained how that barbell may be differently weighted and affected by factors such as the investor's age, goals and risk tolerance. The hosts asked him to compare today's retail investor with the retail investor of 10 years ago. Moglia responded that today's investors have better financial literacy and access to more information than they did 10 years ago. He also believes today's investors are more aggressive.
Moglia made another salient point when he stressed that losing money in a bull market is still possible. Although Moglia believes in the Magnificent Seven and cryptocurrency, he stressed the importance of retail investors planning their investment strategy and staying on top of their portfolios. Moglia quipped, "Lots of families spend more time planning vacations than they do their investment portfolios."&nbsp;

What To Know: Hindenburg announced a short position against used car retailer Carvana on Thursday in a <a href="https://hindenburgresearch.com/carvana/">report</a> titled, &#8220;Carvana: A Father-Son Accounting Grift For The Ages.&#8221;
The short seller noted that Carvana shares have soared over the past year on hopes that the worst is behind the company after the car seller battled bankruptcy risks in 2022 and 2023.
&#8220;However, our research, including extensive document review and 49 interviews with industry experts, former Carvana employees, competitors and related parties of the company, undertaken over the course of 4 months, shows Carvana's turnaround is a mirage,&#8221; Hindenburg alleged.

Hindenburg claimed its research uncovered &#8220;accounting manipulation and lax underwriting&#8221; that have &#8220;fueled temporary reported income growth.&#8221; The short seller said it also found $800 million in loan sales to a &#8220;suspected undisclosed related party.&#8221;
Hindenburg went on to highlight recent insider selling, suggesting the company&#8217;s share price is inflated. All findings aside, the short seller believes the stock is &#8220;exorbitantly valued,&#8221; trading with a 845% higher sales multiple than competitors CarMax and AutoNation, and a 754% higher forward earnings multiple. Carvana currently has a forward price-to-earnings multiple of approximately 101, according to <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com">Benzinga Pro</a>.
