In U.S. dollars, the company reported fourth quarter adjusted earnings per share of $1.04, missing the street view of $1.36. Quarterly sales of $3.92 billion missed the analyst consensus estimate of $5.39 billion.
In Canadian dollars, earnings per share were C$1.02, up 65% year over year, and adjusted earnings per shares were C$1.46.
Wireless service revenue increased by 2% this quarter, primarily as a result of the cumulative impact of growth in mobile phone subscriber base over the past year.
Wireless equipment revenue increased by 9%, primarily as a result of an increase in subscribers purchasing higher-value devices. Cable service revenue was stable this quarter, improving sequentially from the third quarter and from the prior year.
The company declared a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/01/g43331916/rogers-communications-declares-50-cents-per-share-quarterly-dividend">quarterly dividend </a>totaling 50 cents per share on each of its outstanding Class B Non-Voting shares and Class A Voting shares.&nbsp;The declared quarterly dividend will be paid on April 2.

Media revenue increased by 10% this quarter, primarily as a result of higher sports- and&nbsp;entertainment-related revenue, but lower than expectations as previously announced.
Consolidated adjusted EBITDA increased 9% and adjusted EBITDA margin increased by 250 basis points, primarily as a result of ongoing productivity and cost efficiencies.
As at December 31, the company had C$4.8 billion of available liquidity (December 31, 2023 &#8211; C$5.9 billion), including C$0.9 billion in cash and equivalents.
&#8220;The fourth quarter caps three straight years of industry-leading results,&#8221; said Tony Staffieri, President and CEO. &#8220;As I look to the year ahead, our 2025 outlook reflects continued growth, strong free cash flow, and investment in our core businesses.&#8221;
Outlook: For FY25, the company sees total service revenue to increase 0% to 3%.
"In 2025, we expect to have the financial flexibility to maintain our network advantages and to continue to return cash to shareholders," the company said.
Price Action: RCI shares are trading higher by 0.97% to $29.03 at last check Thursday.

Goldman Sachs analyst Susan Maklari reiterated a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/WHR/analyst-ratings">Buy rating</a> on the shares of Whirlpool Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/WHR#NYSE">WHR</a>) with a price target of $138.
Whirlpool reported adjusted <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/01/n43318720/whirlpool-announces-fourth-quarter-and-full-year-results-provides-2025-guidance">fourth-quarter EPS of $4.57</a>, exceeding the analyst&#8217;s forecast of $4.08 and the FactSet consensus of $4.34. 
The stronger-than-expected performance relative to the analyst&#8217;s model was driven by a lower adjusted tax rate, which added $1.61 to the results, as well as interest expenses and other factors contributing an additional $0.22. 
Revenue dropped by 18.7%, slightly better than the analyst&#8217;s estimate of -18.9%, adding $0.01. However, this was partially offset by an adjusted EBIT margin 118 basis points lower than the analyst&#8217;s estimate of 6.0%, which reduced earnings by $1.35.
Overall, the results were influenced by a significant inventory reduction at a major North American retailer and ongoing weakness in discretionary spending, which pressured product mix and margins. 
Looking ahead, the 2025 adjusted EPS guidance was set at approximately $10, below the analyst&#8217;s forecast of $10.75 and the consensus estimate of $11.46.
Revenues in the North America MDA segment declined by 1% year-over-year, better than the analyst&#8217;s expected drop of 2%, as the analyst estimated that volumes were relatively stable while price/mix challenges remained consistent with the previous quarter.
Small Domestic Appliance revenues grew by 6%, falling short of the analyst&#8217;s 8% estimate, as a challenging market environment partially offset strong direct-to-consumer sales and new product introductions.
Additionally, investments in marketing and new products caused the segment's margin to fall 350 basis points, declining by 127 basis points year-over-year to 12.5%, said the analyst.
The company plans to sell about 31% of its stake in Whirlpool India for $550-$600 million, with the transaction expected to be completed by mid- to late 2025.
Management intends to use the proceeds to reduce debt by around $700 million in 2025 and refinance $1.1-$1.2 billion in upcoming maturities.
The analyst will be looking for updates on the U.S. demand given the macro backdrop, the success of recent new product introductions, key factors to margins including price realization, inflation, and cost reductions, and the impact of potential trade actions.

The company surpassed the consensus of $4.79 billion.
Bookings increased&nbsp;3% Y/Y to&nbsp;$4.67 billion&nbsp;in the quarter. Enterprise reported a&nbsp;10% Y/Y increase in both revenues and organic revenues.
The backlog totaled&nbsp;$6.75 billion at the end of 2024. Adjusted EBITDA rose&nbsp;17% Y/Y to&nbsp;$894 million, with a margin expansion of 110&nbsp;bps Y/Y to&nbsp;18.3%.
Adjusted&nbsp;EPS of&nbsp;$2.61 (+20% Y/Y) surpassed&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">the street view of&nbsp;$2.54</a>.
As of Dec. 31, 2024:

FedEx Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FDX#NYSE">FDX</a>) stock is trading lower on Thursday in sympathy with United Postal Service (UPS), which fell after it reported 2024 fiscal-year <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/01/43335015/ups-q4-earnings-major-customer-volume-cut-raises-jitters-stock-tanks">fourth-quarter earnings. </a>
UPS reported revenue of $25.30 billion, missing analysts estimate of $25.41 billion. In addition, the company reported adjusted earnings per share of $2.75, beating analysts estimate of $2.53.
Additionally, UPS reported an operating profit of $8.5 billion and an operating margin of 9.3%. The company reported cash from operations of $10.1 billion.
UPS announced it will reduce its volume with its largest customer by over 50% before the second half of 2026. The company announced this as part of a series of strategic actions it is implementing.
&#8220;We are making business and operational changes that, along with the foundational changes we&#8217;ve already made, will put us further down the path to becoming a more profitable, agile and differentiated UPS that is growing in the best parts of the market,&#8221; said Carol Tomé, CEO of UPS.
FedEx may be trading lower in sympathy with UPS, as investors might see this as an indication of broader industry challenges. This could include weaker demand or pricing pressures that may affect FedEx as well.
