Stocks can rally off of support levels because of buyer's anxiety. Sometimes buyers can become anxious. They know that whoever wants to sell is going to go to whoever is willing to pay the highest price. They are afraid they will be outbid and they don't want to miss the trade.
So, they increase the prices they are willing to pay. Other anxious buyers see this and decide to do the same thing. This can result in a bidding war or snowball effect that pushes the price higher.
In addition, the stock is very oversold.
The red line on the chart below is two standard deviations below the 20-day moving average. Statistics and probability theory suggest that 95% of trading should be within two standard deviations of the mean. Since WAB exceeded this threshold to the downside, it will get the attention of trading algorithms and programs that are driven by statistics.

The media will not be much help. They will be busy covering the vast conspiracy surrounding the President&#8217;s bathroom schedule and the whereabouts of Scaramucci&#8217;s mom.
The instant experts of the Internet will be far too busy touting the new nuclear plants that will fit in your pocket and allow you to mine Bitcoin and develop a personal AGI program on the go. The fancier models will apparently have an adapter that allows you to mount the reactor to your dash and simultaneously power your vehicle&#8217;s onboard entertainment system.
First, and most importantly, pitchers and catchers report this week. It is, as the saying goes, huge. I already have my tickets to catch the Orioles when they come to town, and I am ready for baseball season.
This week is also the deadline for 13F filings at the SEC. These handy documents contain all the stocks owned by the nation&#8217;s money managers, hedge funds, and other big-money types.

BankFinancial Corporation (Ticker: BFIN) has 19 branches in the Chicago Metropolitan area. The bank is well-capitalized and has a solid loan portfolio. Given its size and market, I would be less than surprised to see a larger bank that wanted to expand in the Chicago metro market make an offer for this bank at some point in 2025.
Franklin Financial (Ticker: FRAF) has 24 branches in South Central Pennsylvania and Northwestern Maryland. Franklin has a pristine loan portfolio, sufficient capital, and trades at a reasonable valuation. Investors who accumulated the stock on pullbacks should do very well over the next year.
All three are in excellent financial shape, have strong loan portfolios, and trade at attractive valuations.
Keeping with the week&#8217;s most important news, I noticed that media mogul John Malone shared my excitement at baseball&#8217;s return. In January, he acquired shares of Atlanta Braves Holdings (Ticker: BATRK) worth over $3 million, adding to his substantial stake in the baseball team. The Braves are one of the most popular teams in baseball, and last year, they drew over 3 million fans to Truist Park. Braves games are a staple on TV and radio stations across the Southeastern United States. The team will be good again this year and is the early favorite to win their division and make the playoffs in 2025.
Atlanta Braves Holdings also owns a mixed-use development around the stadium with retail, residential, office, hotel, and entertainment opportunities known as The Battery Atlanta. The shops and restaurants are a source of year-round revenue and appear to be undervalued by the current stock price.
I have hit (pardon the too-easy pun) home runs with shares of the Cleveland Indians and Boston Celtics in my career, and every time we have a bad market or the Braves suffer a losing streak, I add to my Braves Holdings position hoping lightning strikes a third time.

Piper Sandler: Reddit delivered "another quarter of strong results," with revenues of $428 million, up 71% year-on-year and 23% sequentially, Champion said. "User growth remains solid with Global DAUs (daily active users) climbing to around 102 million on average in the fourth quarter, he added.
"Management highlighted the improvements to ML models including translating content via machine translation," the analyst wrote. The number of languages will expand from the current eight in 2025 and "is driving 40-50% of international user growth," he further wrote.
JMP Securities: Reddit reported DAU and revenue 2% and 5% above consensus, respectively, while EBITDA came in $23 million higher, Boone said. "However, the revenue beat tightened (vs. 3Q24) and U.S. DAUq declined Q/Q," he added.
The sequential decline in US DAUs "highlights the volatility of SEO as Reddit's goal of reaching 1B DAU seems further away after the quarter," the analyst wrote. The company has "multiple growth levers" that can support meaningful free cash flow ahead, he further stated.
Needham: Reddit's fourth-quarter revenue growth accelerated to 71% year-on-year from 62% in 2024, Martin said. Total ad revenues in the quarter reached $395 million, up 60% year-on-year, she added.
The company reported DAUs of 101.7 million, up 39% year-on-year and 5% sequentially, including 46% growth in international DAUs, the analyst stated. "AI-driven language translations should accelerate int&#8217;l DAU growth in FY25," she further wrote.
Goldman Sachs: Reddit's fourth-quarter results, which came in "solidly above the guided range," reflects continued operating momentum, Sheridan said. US DAUs came in below Street estimates due to Google traffic changes but this was offset by strong international user growth, he added.
Management's commentary was positive around "both the scope/impact of AI across the platform as well as continued progress on monetization in the coming years," the analyst stated. "Our conviction level in Reddit's ability to sustainably grow revenues well above industry average rates increased with this set of results," he further wrote.
JPMorgan: While DAU growth softened after Thanksgiving, this was due to a change in the Google search algorithm, Anmuth said. "The search traffic headwinds did not impact either logged in user growth or the fourth-quarter revenue, and the company indicated that search traffic has recovered so far in the first quarter, he added.
"Despite DAUq headwinds, Reddit continues to execute well &amp; capture share of advertiser budgets," the analyst wrote. Strong revenue growth and improved cost leverage supported strong profit gains, with Reddit growing revenue around 4.2 times faster than non-GAAP expenses in 2024, he further stated.
Price Action: Shares of Reddit had declined by 5.53% to $204.50 at the time of publication on Thursday.

Upwork Inc. Upwork Gains On AI And Enterprise Growth, But Analysts See Macro Challenges Limiting Upside

On Wednesday,&nbsp;CVS Health Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CVS#NYSE">CVS</a>) reported fourth-quarter sales of $97.71 billion, beating the&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/calendars/earnings" rel="noreferrer noopener">consensus of $97.19 billion</a>.
Total revenues increased 4.2%, driven by growth in the Health Care Benefits and Pharmacy &amp; Consumer Wellness segments, partially offset by a decline in the&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/02/43655820/cvs-health-stock-surges-on-better-than-expected-q4-earnings-upbeat-annual-outlook" rel="noreferrer noopener">Health Services segment</a>.
The Medical benefit ratio increased from 88.5% to 94.8% compared to the prior year, driven by increased utilization, the unfavorable impact of the previously disclosed decline in the company&#8217;s Medicare Advantage star ratings for the 2024 payment year, and the impact of higher acuity in Medicaid.
Truist analyst noted that CVS Health&#8217;s fourth-quarter results were mostly better than expected, and the company provided strong guidance for 2025.
In its business segments, revenue projections for Health Services and Pharmacy &amp; Consumer exceeded expectations. However, the Health Care Benefits (HCB) segment fell short due to lower-than-expected membership growth.
Meanwhile, the medical benefit ratio (MBR) is expected to improve by 1 percentage point year-over-year, reaching at least 91.5%, which aligns with prior estimates and is slightly better than the 92.0% consensus.
Analyst David MacDonald writes CVS expects its Medicare Advantage (MA) margins to improve in 2025 from the negative 4.5% to 5.0% range seen in 2024, though they won&#8217;t break even yet. Management reaffirmed their long-term goal of a 3% to 5% margin.
For the overall business, CVS projects Health Care Benefits (HCB) margins to reach 1.5% in 2025, significantly lower than 5%+ in 2023 and 7% in 2022.
Management noted that each percentage point of HCB margin improvement adds about $0.75 to adjusted EPS, implying a $3 to $4 earnings boost if margins return to target levels over time.
<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/10/41279374/cvs-health-positioned-for-medicare-margin-expansion-and-market-share-gains-says-bar" rel="noreferrer noopener">CostVantage is gaining traction</a>, with all commercial contracts using the model as of January 1, Truist writes. The company is also developing a cost-based approach for Medicare and Medicaid.
For 2025, revenue is projected to reach at least $134 billion, surpassing the previous estimate of $128 billion, driven by slightly higher prescription volumes (1.77 billion vs. 1.74 billion previously expected). The company sees 2025 as a transition year for CostVantage, with stronger growth potential in the future.
Finally, while leverage remains above the company&#8217;s long-term target, Truist expects better operational performance, especially at Aetna, to drive improvement over time.
The analyst maintains the Buy rating with an increased price forecast of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/CVS/analyst-ratings" rel="noreferrer noopener">$76, up from $60</a>.
