On Wednesday, the FDA granted accelerated approval to Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JAZZ#NASDAQ">JAZZ</a>) Ziihera (zanidatamab-hrii) 50mg/mL for injection for intravenous use for adults with previously treated, unresectable, or metastatic HER2-positive (IHC 3+) <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/11/n42101689/jazz-pharmaceuticals-announces-u-s-fda-approval-of-ziihera-zanidatamab-hrii-for-the-treatment-of-a" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">biliary tract cancer (BTC)</a>.
Ziihera&nbsp;was approved under accelerated approval based on a 52% objective response rate (ORR) and a median duration of response (DOR) of 14.9 months.
Continued approval for this indication may be contingent upon verification and description of clinical benefit in a confirmatory trial.

The Phase 3 HERIZON-BTC-302 confirmatory trial is ongoing to evaluate zanidatamab in combination with standard-of-care therapy versus standard-of-care therapy alone in the first-line setting for patients with HER2-positive BTC.
Regulatory reviews of zanidatamab for BTC remain ongoing in China and Europe.
In late 2022, Zymeworks Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/JAZZ#NASDAQ">JAZZ</a>) entered into a license and collaboration agreement with Jazz Pharmaceuticals for the exclusive development and commercialization rights to zanidatamab across all indications in the United States, Europe, Japan, and all other territories except for those Asia Pacific territories previously <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/11/g42106981/fda-grants-u-s-approval-of-ziihera-zanidatamab-hrii-for-the-treatment-of-adults-with-previously-tr" rel="noreferrer noopener">licensed by Zymeworks</a>.
Under the Jazz license and collaboration agreement terms, Zymeworks has earned a milestone payment of $25 million based on the FDA approval in BTC. Zymeworks is also eligible to receive up to a further $500 million in regulatory milestone payments and $862.5 million in commercial milestone payments, as well as tiered royalties of 10% to 20% of net sales by Jazz.
Zymeworks says the approval represents the first FDA-approved therapy in its pipeline and validates the company&#8217;s Azymetric bispecific platform technology.
Price Action: JAZZ stock closed at $119.24 on Wednesday.

In Anaheim at the recent <a href="https://cannabismarketspotlight.com/california/anaheim-november-12/">Cannabis Market Spotlight: California </a>event, seasoned cannabis entrepreneur Seth Yakatan shared his perspective on the cannabis industry's current landscape and future potential. 
Despite recent shifts in cannabis stock prices, Yakatan believes the sector remains fundamentally stable. "The technical fundamentals of the sector pretty much remained the same," he noted, adding that he saw the price drop as an opportunity and "just bought more stocks cheaper."
<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Federal Policy and a Cautious Outlook</h4>
Looking ahead, Yakatan discussed the impact of upcoming federal decisions on the cannabis industry. He remains "cautiously optimistic" but believes it could be March before any clear direction emerges. 
Yakatan highlighted three key areas to watch: the selection of a new Attorney General, possibly reclassifying cannabis to Schedule III and ongoing legislative changes in states like Pennsylvania. "Anything other than that's probably just speculation," he remarked, stressing that the path forward depends on these developments.
<h4 class="wp-block-heading">California's Market Leads the Way</h4>
Yakatan also expressed confidence in California's enduring position as a leader in the U.S. cannabis market, calling it "still the biggest cannabis market in the United States." 
Although he acknowledged challenges within California's market, he emphasized the dedication of long-standing businesses that continue to secure investment and make strides in the industry. "I don't see that dynamic changing," Yakatan stated, underscoring his confidence in California's cannabis market to continue thriving.
Yakatan's observations at the event reflected the optimism shared by many industry experts, signaling a resilient future for cannabis even as it faces a complex regulatory environment.

Super Micro said in the compliance plan that it believes it will be able to file both its annual report for the fiscal year ended June, 30 2024 and its quarterly report for the period ended Sept. 30, 2024 within the discretionary period that can be granted by the Nasdaq.

Super Micro has faced significant selling pressure since the company&#8217;s auditor raised concerns. The stock traded all the way down to around $17.25 per share last week before bouncing back. Super Micro shares are now up more than 43% over the past five trading sessions.
