Neuralink is offering $22 an hour for manufacturing technicians in Texas. Those roles focus on producing brain implants and accessories and might require working weekends or long hours. In California, wages are higher – between $28.85 and $44.23 an hour – for technicians building the R1 Surgical Robot, which automates the implantation process.
This hiring push is part of a broader effort. Neuralink has over 30 job openings on its careers page, with more than 600 people already working there. Many of these employees previously worked at Tesla or SpaceX.

Neuralink isn't without challenges. Reuters reported earlier this year that the FDA approved human trials for the implants after rejecting an earlier bid in 2023 due to safety concerns. Issues included overheating and problems with wires connected to the brain chip. So far, two patients have received implants. One of them experienced complications with loose wires. However, the company was approved to begin clinical trials in Canada this week. The company posted on X that it is <a href="https://twitter.com/neuralink/status/1859321866944401727">looking for clinical volunteers</a> with quadriplegia due to ALS or SCI.
John Donoghue, a neuroscientist on BrainGate, told Business Insider that Neuralink's production efforts are unusual. "Typically, at this stage, you'd be handcrafting the device. You wouldn't be expecting to scale production until you'd fully finalized it."

While construction input prices have stabilized – rising just 0.3% in October according to federal data cited in the report – overall costs remain elevated. Total construction starts fell 6% in September to an annual rate of $1.1 trillion, the Boston Business Journal noted, though year-to-date figures through September show a 2% increase over 2023.
The specialized labor market faces additional pressure from booming data center and manufacturing facility construction. &#8220;You&#8217;re going to be paying a premium for those subcontractors to be available because the money is still flowing so quickly and heavily through data centers,&#8221; Molinini said.
Some analysts suggest Trump&#8217;s actual policies may prove less aggressive than campaign rhetoric, given stock market sensitivity to trade disruptions. &#8220;While contractors are confident, in my mind, as an economist, the outlook is cloudy,&#8221; Basu said.

Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RIVN#NASDAQ">RIVN</a>) CEO RJ Scaringe offered praise for Tesla, while also hoping that another Tesla doesn't rise up to take more market share.
"The world doesn't need another one of those," Scaringe said of Tesla, as <a href="https://insideevs.com/news/742302/rivian-ceo-tesla-model-y-best/">reported </a>by InsideEVs. "We think Tesla has done an amazing job. It's a great brand; they have great products."
Scaringe answered "yes" to the Model Y being the best electric vehicle under $50,000 available today. The comments came during a roundtable at the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/24/11/42068815/rivian-r2-road-tour-heads-to-detroit-chicago-los-angeles-and-more">LA Auto Show.</a>
The Rivian CEO said there are "less than five highly competitive choices" among the electric vehicles that sell for under $50,000.
This might explain some of the reason that Rivian is focusing on launching new vehicles like the R2 and R3, which are expected to start at under $50,000. The current Rivian vehicles R1T and R1S have starting prices above the $50,000 level.
While Rivian and Tesla are rivals today, Scaringe has also owned a Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, according to the report.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has offered praise for Rivian in the past, while also expressing concern that the company will go bankrupt.
"I hope they do well," Musk <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/10/41431406/elon-musk-says-tesla-will-not-buy-ev-rival-rivian-going-to-have-a-hard-time">previously said of Rivian</a>. "The car industry is a very difficult industry. There's only two U.S. car companies that haven't gone bankrupt and that's Ford and Tesla. Rivian's going to have a hard time."
The comments came when Musk was asked why Tesla hasn't considered acquiring Rivian. Based on the comments, it doesn't look like Tesla will acquire Rivian anytime soon. Tesla has often limited its acquisitions to companies that help with technology or the supply chain of the company's electric vehicles.
