Trump Said He Will Use Emergency Powers To Allow People To Build Big AI Plants

President-elect Donald Trump and his incoming VP JD Vance debuted their new presidential and vice presidential portraits last week and, well, they could not have been more different.
Daniel Torok, the President-elect's chief photographer, revealed the portraits on X. "We are entering the GOLDEN AGE OF AMERICA," Torok wrote. His feed quickly filled up with hilarious commentary comparing and contrasting Trump and Vance as mafia don to blue-eyed Boy Scout.

"They go hard," <a href="https://www.donaldjtrump.com/news/07024bed-769c-482f-a243-5c5ee1682e9e">wrote</a> Trump's transition team in a one-sentence press release about the official portraits. There was no explanation about who or what went hard though we presume the two men in the portrait.
Clearly Trump's demeanor, eyes squinting, defiant mob-boss look on his face, is not a far cry from the mugshot seen around the world when <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/23/08/33851310/donald-trump-election-fraud-probe-georgia-grand-jury-reportedly-issues-10-indictments">he was&nbsp;booked</a> into the Fulton county jail on charges&nbsp;of attempting to steal the 2020 presidential election. He was clearly fuming then. But now? Five years later and the leader of the free world, what&#8217;s he so annoyed about?

Peter Lynch's Advice: 'Don't Invest in a Company Before You Look At the Financials. If You Made It Through Fifth Grade, You Can Handle the Math'

America&#8217;s ageing population does not only show up in a larger proportion of adults nearing or reaching retirement, advisors themselves are also aging out of the business. Yet preparations for how to deal with this shift are at all-time lows in the industry, according to a <a href="https://www.planadviser.com/ria-succession-planning-hits-new-low/">new national survey</a> by consultancy DeVoe &amp; Co.
The firm polled 100 senior RIA executives, principals and owners whose responses reveal that only 42% of advisories have written succession plans in place. That&#8217;s the lowest number since the firm started asking the question in 2019.
While soaring advisory valuations make it less likely that junior employees will be able to buy out founders, consultants at DeVoe point out that succession planning is important not just for economic reasons, but to ensure steady management and reliability. That in turn may increase the value of the advisory even more, which would help founders looking to sell to a competitor and retire.
One big hurdle DeVoe identified is that respondents generally say they&#8217;d prefer to have their companies taken over by internal candidates, though they also report a lack of trust in the next generation. Only one-third say they trust the next generation to take care of their company, another third have medium confidence. The remaining third has none at all.
This suggests there&#8217;s a huge gap in expectations and training between senior advisor executives and partners on the one hand, and their more junior employees on the other. For a smoother transition, better client experience and higher advisory valuation, advisories should consider instituting mentoring and training programs to quickly and internally build up a suite of potential leaders that executives will trust to manage the company.
To enable that, advisories will need to use financial incentives to attract the best advisors so they can be trained for leadership roles. DeVoe&#8217;s survey identifies another gap. Only 49% of respondents said they have a clear plan for compensating advisors, with another 28% saying they give informal direction and 15% saying they give discretionary bonuses. Most respondents would not recommend their company&#8217;s compensation plan to a friend.
This marks a huge opportunity for RIAs. Reworking incentive plans will help hire, cultivate and retain the best talent, as well as ensure a smooth transition for the company.

Kennedy, selected by President-elect Donald Trump to head the Department of Health and Human Services, has been vocal about his desire to reduce the use of HFCS, which he links to health issues like obesity and diabetes.
With about 8% of U.S. corn dedicated to HFCS production, farmers worry that any shift away from this market could drastically impact their incomes.
Experts estimate that up to 1.4 billion bushels of corn could be displaced if a ban is implemented, leading to a potential drop in prices.

The U.S. Corn Refiners Association, which represents major agribusinesses, declined to comment on the potential impact of Kennedy&#8217;s stance.
Meanwhile, some farmers, like Dan Kelley from Illinois, are more focused on external factors such as global competition and trade tariffs than on Kennedy&#8217;s health-focused policies, The Guardian adds.
Despite Kennedy&#8217;s outspoken views on food reform, experts don&#8217;t expect immediate changes to the HFCS market.

House Speaker Mike Johnson says that his first private meeting with President Joe Biden left him deeply concerned, as Biden appeared unaware of an executive order he had recently signed.
What Happened: In an interview with The Free Press, Johnson alleged that Biden's cognitive state and lack of engagement have raised doubts about his leadership.

Why Americans Are Accepting Pay Cuts For Remote Jobs – And What It Means For The Economy

Sonos Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SONO#NASDAQ">SONO</a>) is grappling with the most severe crisis in its history in the aftermath of a catastrophic software rollout last year. Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman says that several tech giants could potentially save the digital speaker company, with most speculation centering on a possible acquisition by Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>).

This has been another year of brisk new product launches from the exchange-traded funds industry as hundreds of new funds have come to market. As is often the case, some new ETFs take awhile to attract a following while others thrive right out of the gates.
Put the ClearShares OCIO ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/OCIO#NYSE">OCIO</a>) in the latter category. The ClearShares OCIO ETF is about three months and is already celebrating the $100 million in assets under management milestone. To be precise, the ClearShares OCIO ETF had <a href="https://www.clear-shares.com/ocio">$101.7 million in assets</a> under management as of Sept. 26.&nbsp;
&ldquo;OCIO&rdquo; stands for outsourced chief investment officer. The ETF is an actively managed, ETF of ETFs that holds both active and passive ETFs.
<h3>The Allure Of OCIO</h3>
As <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/trading-ideas/long-ideas/17/06/9662088/get-a-bunch-of-etfs-with-this-new-etf">Benzinga reported in June</a> when OCIO debuted, &ldquo;OCIO holds 30 ETFs, all but three of which are iShares or Vanguard products. The largest holding in the new ETF accounts for nearly 4.8 percent of the fund&#39;s weight and OCIO&#39;s top 10 holdings combine for about 47 percent of the ETF&#39;s weight.&rdquo;&nbsp;

&ldquo;ClearShares OCIO ETF deploys an active management focused on tactical asset allocation by a team of experienced investment professionals with multi-asset class, multi-market cycle experience,&rdquo; said ClearShares <a href="http://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/ClearShares-LLC-OCIO-ETF-Ticker-NYSE-OCIO-Reaches-100M-in-Assets-Under-Management-AUM-1002641112">in a statement</a>. &ldquo;The Fund seeks to outperform a traditional 60/40 mix of global equity and fixed-income investments.&rdquo;&nbsp;
Currently, OCIO provides investors with exposure to multiple asset classes, including U.S. equities, emerging markets stocks and ex-US developed market stocks as well as bonds.
<h3>Familiar Names</h3>
None of OCIO&#39;s holdings exceed a weight of 4.8 percent. Seven of OCIO&#39;s top 10 holdings are Vanguard funds and the other three are iShares ETFs. All of OCIO&#39;s top 10 holdings are low-fee ETFs.
Those ETFs include the Vanguard Value ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/VTV#NYSE">VTV</a>), the Vanguard Growth ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/VUG#NYSE">VUG</a>), iShares Core MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/IEMG#NYSE">IEMG</a>) and the iShares Core S&amp;P 500 ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/IVV#NYSE">IVV</a>).
OCIO is up about 3 percent since coming to market.

In recent years, the ETF of ETFs has been increasingly popular with issuers of new exchange-traded funds. The latest entrant to that arena is the ClearShares OCIO ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/OCIO#NYSE">OCIO</a>), which debuted Tuesday.
The new ETF was launched by ClearShares LLC, a unit of Clearbrook Global Advisors. &ldquo;OCIO&rdquo; stands for outsourced chief investment officer. OCIO, the ETF, is actively managed and holds passive and active ETFs.
&ldquo;ClearShares OCIO ETF is a managed portfolio of active and passive, index-based ETFs, with active management focused on tactical asset allocation by a team of experienced investment professionals with multi-asset class, multi-market cycle experience,&rdquo; <a href="http://www.marketwired.com/press-release/clearshares-llc-launches-first-ocio-etf-ticker-nyse-ocio-nyse-ocio-2223977.htm">according to a statement</a> from New York-based ClearShares. &ldquo;The Fund seeks to outperform a traditional 60/40 mix of global equity and fixed-income investments.&rdquo;
<h3>Familiar Holdings</h3>
OCIO holds 30 ETFs, all but three of which are iShares or Vanguard products. The largest holding in the new ETF accounts for nearly 4.8 percent of the fund&#39;s weight and OCIO&#39;s top 10 holdings combine for about 47 percent of the ETF&#39;s weight.
Familiar domestic holdings in OCIO include the Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/VTI#NYSE">VTI</a>), Vanguard Growth ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/VUG#NYSE">VUG</a>) and the Vanguard S&amp;P 500 ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/VOO#NYSE">VOO</a>).
OCIO&#39;s international holdings include the iShares Core MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/IEMG#NYSE">IEMG</a>), Vanguard Emerging Markets Stock Index Fd (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/VWO#NYSE">VWO</a>) and the iShares Core MSCI EAFE ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="/stock/IEFA#NYSE">IEFA</a>). All three of those funds are among this year&#39;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/17/04/9314034/a-look-at-the-prolific-q1-etf-asset-gatherers">top asset-gathering ETFs</a>.
Bottom line: Many of OCIO&#39;s holdings meet the definition of low-cost ETFs.
<h3>OCIO&#39;s Process</h3>
OCIO&#39;s management team combines active asset allocation with bottom-up research, risk analysis and top-down research to arrive at investment decisions.
The new ETF &ldquo;integrates the cost advantages and transparency of the ETF structure with the experienced professional management, research and analytics of the traditional OCIO model,&rdquo; according to ClearShares. &ldquo;The Fund is an actively managed ETF of ETFs, holding a diverse portfolio of primarily passive index-based ETFs utilizing actively managed strategies when opportunities present themselves. It offers a potential core- or total-portfolio solution, with fees and minimums that may be less than other outsourced arrangements.&rdquo;
The new ETF charges 0.67 percent per year, or $67 on a $10,000 investment.
