The reductions are part of a strategy announced in October when Boeing revealed plans to reduce its workforce by 10%. The Machinists' union also confirmed that many unionized workers recently returned to assembly lines following a nearly two-month strike. The troubled airline also saw its stock delisted from the New York Stock Exchange (the ticker was SAVE) and is now trading in the over-the-counter marketplace. Spirit disclosed the shares are expected to be canceled and will have no value when the reorganization process is completed. 
Spirit <a href="https://www.sec.gov/ix?doc=/Archives/edgar/data/1498710/000095010324016405/dp220813_8k.htm">approved</a> large retention bonuses for its top executives on Nov. 12, six days before the company announced the restructuring and filed for bankruptcy. CEO Christie&#8217;s retention bonus was $3.8 million, which he gets to keep if he remains with the company for another year.

What Happened: Silver doesn't think that Harris should be declared the winner of the 2024 presidential election, but rather should take over for outgoing President Joe Biden for the remainder of his term ahead of Donald Trump's <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/social-media/24/11/41784933/donald-trumps-wealth-soars-with-2024-election-win-heres-how-much-president-elect-is-worth-ho">return to the White House.</a>

The annualized value of Germany&#8217;s medical cannabis market is estimated at €352 million (US$375 million). According to Zuanic, "With less than 0.3% of the population currently using medical cannabis, the market remains underdeveloped but has immense growth potential."
Zuanic explains that if Germany reaches a 1% penetration rate, similar to Canada&#8217;s, "that would imply more than 4-5x upside." However, achieving this growth will require <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/biotech/24/08/40298228/think-you-can-do-it-all-20-000-reasons-why-automation-outperforms-a-broad-approach-in-cannabis">addressing key challenges</a>. "More consistent and ample supplies across price and quality spectrums, new formats being allowed, and streamlined prescription systems."

The Details: MicroStrategy said the aggregate principal amount of the notes sold in the offering was $3 billion, which includes $400 million aggregate principal amount of notes issued pursuant to an option to purchase.&nbsp;

MicroStrategy intends to use the net proceeds from the sale of the notes to acquire additional Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) and for general corporate purposes. MicroStrategy holds a total of 331,200 Bitcoin purchased at an average price of approximately $49,874 per coin as of Nov. 17.
What Else: MicroStrategy shares fell more than 16% in Thursday's regular session after short-seller Citron Research's Andrew Left announced he took a new <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/11/42118133/short-seller-andrew-left-targets-microstrategy-stock-as-hedge-against-bullish-bitcoin-bet-completely-detached-from-btc-fundamentals">short position</a> in the stock which has rallied more than 50% since President-elect Donald Trump won the election on Nov. 5.&nbsp;
"Fast forward to today: $MSTR has skyrocketed to over $5,000 (adjusted) … while Citron remains bullish on Bitcoin, we&#8217;ve hedged with a short $MSTR position," Left said. "Much respect to @saylor, but even he must know $MSTR is overheated," Citron Research wrote in a post on X.&nbsp;

Oil-based exchange-traded funds (ETFs) experienced a significant decline, dropping over 4%, following Israel&#8217;s recent military strikes on Iran. The strikes, which occurred over the weekend, were reported as &#8220;limited&#8221; by local media, leading analysts to downplay the potential impact on oil supplies.



What Happened: Israel&#8217;s military targeted Iranian sites in three provinces on Saturday in response to a ballistic missile attack by Tehran on October 1. According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the strikes resulted in the deaths of four soldiers and caused &#8220;limited damages,&#8221; sparing oil, nuclear, and civilian infrastructure. Post the strikes, oil prices saw a sharp decline of more than 4% on Monday, CNBC <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2024/10/28/oil-slides-over-4percent-as-israels-attack-on-iran-unlikely-to-disrupt-supplies.html">reported</a> on Monday. Following the attacks, several oil ETFs recorded notable losses.



During pre-market hours on Monday, ProShares Ultra Bloomberg Crude Oil (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/UCO#NYSE">UCO</a>) fell by 8.41%, United States Oil Fund LP (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/USO#NYSE">USO</a>) dropped 4.69%, SPDR S&amp;P Oil &amp; Gas Exploration &amp; Production ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/XOP#NYSE">XOP</a>) decreased by 1.81%, and MicroSectorsTM Oil &amp; Gas Exploration &amp; Production 3X Leveraged ETNs (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/OILU#NYSE">OILU</a>) saw a 4.54% drop, according to <a href="https://pro.benzinga.com">Benzinga Pro</a>.



Despite the tensions, Iran&#8217;s oil industry remains unaffected, with operations continuing as usual. Iran is responsible for up to 4% of the global oil supply, as per the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The attack comes after an Iran-backed Hamas assault on Israel on Oct. 7 last year.



Why It Matters: The recent strikes add to the ongoing geopolitical tensions that have kept energy markets on edge. Earlier this month, oil prices had already dipped by 2% after OPEC reduced its<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/10/41320277/oil-prices-drop-2-as-opec-cuts-forecast-irans-output-rises-analyst-says-netanyahu-m"> global oil demand growth forecast</a> for the third consecutive month. This was due to actual consumption data and slightly lowered demand expectations.



Experts had warned that an Israeli attack on Iranian oil facilities could significantly disrupt global oil prices. John Driscoll, chief strategist at JTD Energy Services, highlighted the potential for <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/10/41309234/israels-attack-on-iran-would-rattle-the-nerves-of-oil-market-says-expert">such actions to unsettle the market</a>, drawing parallels to past incidents like the 2019 drone attacks on Saudi oil fields.



Although Iran&#8217;s oil production is lower due to sanctions, any disruption could still lead to a price increase.

Oil ETFs Plunge Premarket After Israel's Strikes On Iran

The fears of rising interest rates, and inflation that have been piquing investors are now starkly overshadowed by a full-blown Russian invasion of Ukraine.&nbsp;

President Joe Biden and U.S allies have imposed sanctions on Russia including the pausing of a key natural gas pipeline between Germany and Russia; financial restrictions on Russian oligarchs and banks; as well as an end to the trading of Russia&rsquo;s government bonds on exchanges in the U.S. and other allied countries.&nbsp;&nbsp;

What Happened: President Vladimir Putin ordered Russian forces to invade Ukraine early Thursday morning in a massed assault by land, sea&nbsp;and air signaling the largest attack on one European state&nbsp;since World War II.&nbsp;

Western leaders warned that even harsher punitive measures will be unleashed in the event Russia moves further into Ukraine.&nbsp;

Why It Matters: Russia is an energy hub for Europe, supplying 40% of Europe&rsquo;s energy&nbsp;and 35% of the continent&#39;s&nbsp;gas.&nbsp;

Oil prices have spiked above $99 for the first time since 2014, stoking further inflation pressures at a time when growth in the U.S. CPI is at a 40-year high.&nbsp;

If more sanctions are imposed, it could lead to potentially less oil on the market if the country&rsquo;s energy sector is targeted.&nbsp;

Other countries have said the strategy employed by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries Plus (OPEC+), to boost oil production gradually is enough to balance the market and there is no need for a hurry to ramp up production, making leveraged energy ETFs&nbsp;interesting plays.&nbsp;
