This comes as Tesla Inc. and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is all set to co-lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) along with Republican politician Vivek Ramaswamy. As the task force promises to dismantle bureaucracy, reduce regulations, and cut wasteful expenditures, ARKinvest tried to redirect DOGE&#8217;s official page on X (formerly Twitter) to focus on the regulatory hurdles that nuclear energy as a sector has faced in the last 20 years.

What Happened: &#8220;The International Energy Agency has identified nuclear energy as vital to achieving net zero emissions by 2050, yet nuclear power in the United States has stagnated at ~20% of the energy mix since the Chernobyl disaster in 1986,&#8221; said an ARKInvest note based on data from IEA as of October 2023.
In addition to its cost-effectiveness, nuclear power provides a reliable, continuous, and carbon-free supply of energy. These are important now since an explosion in demand for artificial intelligence is taxing the electricity consumption of data centers.

Daniel Maguire, research associate at ARKInvest stated in his report dated April 2024 that stringent regulatory changes and anti-nuclear sentiment have stunted the build-out of nuclear capacity and caused cost overruns in developing US nuclear plants.
Regulatory changes in the mid-to-late seventies, including the establishment of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Energy Research and Development Administration, introduced stricter licensing measures, increasing costs significantly. Without such stringent regulations, ARKInvest&#8217;s research suggests that lower cost trajectories could have saved the US about $345 billion, or ~72% of the total.

Why It Matters: With the introduction of the U.S. Advanced Reactor Demonstration Project and other emerging government support programs, nuclear cost overruns should reverse course as countries look for robust clean energy solutions to meet their net carbon emissions reduction commitments.
Maguire&#8217;s tweet shared by Wood, tagged the Department of Government Efficiency, to bring this to light. The department is scheduled to complete its work by July 4, 2026, coinciding with America's 250th independence anniversary. Focus on this area could help spur activity in the nuclear energy sector by developing clean, carbon-free energy production avenues at lower costs.

Price Action: Despite long-running regulatory hurdles and higher costs, nuclear energy stocks have performed well on a year-to-date basis. Oklo Inc (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/OKLO#NYSE">OKLO</a>), Cameco Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CCJ#NYSE">CCJ</a>), Centrus Energy Corp (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/LEU#NYSE">LEU</a>), NuScale Power Corp (SMR) and VanEck Uranium and Nuclear ETF (ACRA: NLR) have all outperformed NYSE composite on a year-to-date basis, which only rose by 16.65%.

The CNN Money Fear and Greed index showed a further decline in the overall market sentiment, with the index moving to the &#8220;Neutral&#8221; zone on Friday.
U.S. stocks settled lower on Friday, with the Dow Jones falling more than 300 points during the session. The S&amp;P 500 recorded a weekly loss of 2.1%, while the Nasdaq Composite fell around 3.2%. The 30-stock Dow lost 1.2% during the week.
Major tech stocks recorded losses, with Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) shares falling over 3% on Friday, and Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>) stock losing around 2.8% during the session. However, shares of Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) gained around 3% on Friday.
Shares of vaccine companies settled lower on Friday after President-elect Trump nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the HHS. Moderna Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MRNA#NASDAQ">MRNA</a>) shares dipped over 7%, while Amgen Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AMGN#NASDAQ">AMGN</a>) shares declined more than 4% during the session. The SPDR S&amp;P Biotech ETF dipped over 5%, recording its worst week since 2020.
On the economic data front, U.S. export prices increased by 0.8% in October, while import prices rose by 0.3% month-over-month in October. U.S. retail sales rose 0.4% month-over-month in October compared to a revised 0.8% increase in September, topping market estimates of 0.3%
Most sectors on the S&amp;P 500 closed on a negative note, with information technology, communication services, and healthcare stocks recording the biggest losses on Friday. However, utilities and financials stocks bucked the overall market trend, closing the session higher.
The Dow Jones closed lower by around 306 points to 43,444.99 on Friday. The S&amp;P 500 fell 1.32% to 5,870.62, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 2.24% at 18,680.12 during Friday's session.
Investors are awaiting earnings results from Trip.com Group Limited (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TCOM#NASDAQ">TCOM</a>), Brady Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BRC#NYSE">BRC</a>), and AECOM (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ACM#NYSE">ACM</a>) today.

At a current reading of 50.9, the index moved to the &#8220;Neutral&#8221; zone on Friday, versus a prior reading of 58.2.

Tesla unveiled its dedicated <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/10/41284847/tesla-reveals-two-seater-cybercab-that-drives-itself">robotaxi offering called Cybercab</a> in October, featuring just two seats. Other Tesla vehicles come with five-seat interiors in the U.S., except the long-range all-wheel drive variant of Model Y in which Tesla offers a 7-seat interior option for an added $1,000 or $2,000, depending on the choice of color for the interiors.
Tesla also revealed a Robovan together with the two-seat Cybercab in October with no pedals or wheels capable of transporting up to 20 people or cargo without a driver. However, the company did not provide a production timeline for the vehicle. 
Why It Matters: Musk believes that a <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/06/39443823/elon-musk-once-said-collapsing-birth-rate-is-the-biggest-danger-civilization-faces-he-has-fathered-1">population collapse</a> is coming with people choosing to have fewer or no children. A population implosion will end civilization, he has previously said, urging people to have more children. 
In September, Reuters reported that Tesla is planning to produce a six-seat version of its&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/07/39659721/elon-musk-denies-rumors-of-model-y-refresh-yet-again-urges-fans-to-stop-speculating-over-fear-of-hur" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Model Y SUV</a>&nbsp;starting next year in China.
The new variant of Tesla's best-selling vehicle will be made at the company's gigafactory in Shanghai starting late 2025, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/09/40679900/tesla-plans-6-seat-model-y-production-in-china-starting-in-2025-report">Reuters reported</a>, citing two people familiar with the matter.

Brady shares rose 0.2% to $74.38 in after-hours trading.</li>
<li>Analysts expect AECOM (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ACM#NYSE">ACM</a>) to post quarterly earnings at $1.24 per share on revenue of $4.14 billion. The company will release earnings after the markets close. AECOM shares gained 0.1% to $106.99 in after-hours trading.</li>
<li>IT Tech Packaging (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ITP#NYSE">ITP</a>) reported a loss of 20 cents per share for the third quarter, unchanged from the year-ago period. The company's sales jumped around 59% year-over-year to $25.08 million. IT Tech Packaging shares fell 0.6% to $0.2495 in the after-hours trading session.</li>

Brady, Aecom And 3 Stocks To Watch Heading Into Monday

Global investment banks revealed significant positions held in cryptocurrency-related exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and Bitcoin (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/btc/usd">BTC</a>) stock MicroStrategy Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSTR#NASDAQ">MSTR</a>), according to their latest 13F filings with the SEC.
JPMorgan Chase
JPMorgan Chase &amp; Co., the world&#8217;s largest bank by market capitalization, made sizable investments in Bitcoin and Ethereum (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/eth/usd">ETH</a>) ETFs for the quarter ending Sept. 30.
The bank purchased 387 shares, worth $13,982, of iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/IBIT#NASDAQ">IBIT</a>) after offloading them all in the last quarter.
JPMorgan also reallocated to Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (BATS:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FBTC#BATS">FBTC</a>), bagging 213 shares worth $11,877. Overall, the banking giant's Bitcoin ETF exposure reached nearly $65,000.
JPMorgan tapped into the Ethereum ETFs for the first time, with sizable investments in Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ETHE#NYSE">ETHE</a>) and its miniature version, Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust ETF (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ETH#NYSE">ETH</a>). Together, its stake in the two funds amounted to roughly $30,700.
The bid to increase cryptocurrency exposure caused JPMorgan to boost its MicroStrategy portfolio by 12.5% to 660,693 at the end of Q3, worth $111.39 million.&nbsp;

Goldman Sachs
Another Wall Street giant, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GS#NYSE">GS</a>), reported its 13F filing last week.
The bank <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42010782/goldman-sachs-expands-bitcoin-etf-holdings-to-710-million">disclosed </a>$710 million invested across multiple Bitcoin ETFs, with a stake of 12.7 million shares valued at $461 million in IBIT.&nbsp;
These investments solidified Goldman&#8217;s position as the second-largest holder of IBIT, now the world's biggest Bitcoin investment fund, with assets worth $42.89 billion as of this writing.&nbsp;
Goldman Sachs holds $25.16 million in Ethereum ETFs, split between Grayscale&#8217;s Mini Trust and Fidelity&#8217;s Ethereum Fund (BATS:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/FETH#BATS">FETH</a>).
Interestingly, the banking juggernaut liquidated around 534,894 shares of MicroStrategy in Q3, reducing its stake to $140.44 million.
Morgan Stanley
Morgan Stanley (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MS#NYSE">MS</a>) downsized its Bitcoin ETF portfolio to $183.39 million, from $203 million in the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/08/40410418/goldman-sachs-makes-blockbuster-debut-adds-over-400m-in-bitcoin-etf-position-in-q2-as-morg">last quarter.</a> 
The outflows were primarily driven by the selling of 449,802 IBIT shares.
Additionally, Morgan Stanley invested in Ethereum ETFs, primarily through a stake in iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ETHA#NASDAQ">ETHA</a>).
Meanwhile, its MicroStrategy position jumped 22.6% to 9,595,008 shares worth $1.61 billion.
