Pyramid Mountain Lumber, the town's biggest employer, has been a family-owned business since 1948. Todd Johnson, whose grandfather started the mill, has worked there his entire life. &#8220;I&#8217;ve never drawn a paycheck from any other business in my whole life. I started here in sixth grade,&#8221; Johnson shared. &#8220;This is all I&#8217;ve ever known.&#8221;
The closure is not due to political battles or environmental issues. Instead, it's because the town doesn&#8217;t have a centralized sewer system, which prevents new affordable housing from being built. This makes it difficult to attract and retain workers.&nbsp;
Johnson explains, &#8220;There hasn&#8217;t been an apartment, duplex, or fourplex built in this town in over 30 years, so … when you&#8217;re talking about entry-level housing for more blue-collar workers, there&#8217;s just none available.&#8221;

Missoula County officials explain that developers can&#8217;t build cost-effective housing for the mill's blue-collar workers without a sewer system. High-end septic systems are too expensive for the kind of housing needed in Seeley Lake. The town has debated installing a sewer system for years, but residents have consistently voted against it due to concerns about costs and changing the town&#8217;s character.
The impact of this decision is now hitting home. Pyramid Mountain Lumber, which cuts various sizes of lumber and has grown significantly over the decades, cannot find enough workers to keep running. &#8220;To make the announcement to the crew was probably the toughest thing,&#8221; Johnson told ABC News. &#8220;I&#8217;ve got friends, family, generations of good friends that work here. I had to tell them we&#8217;re going to shut the doors.&#8221;
The shortage of workers isn't just affecting the mill. Kyle Marx, the general manager of Rovero's Hardware, mentioned they&#8217;re &#8220;running on a skeleton crew&#8221; during their busiest season. &#8220;No affordable housing here,&#8221; Marx said. &#8220;Rentals have diminished since COVID hit, and everybody came up here, bought every rental that was available, and turned them into vacation rentals or moved up here themselves.&#8221;

Dee Baker, who owns the Grizzly Claw Trading Company, said this has been a problem for years. "There could be low-income housing built, but the people in the town cannot come to an agreement with Missoula County," she said.
Dave Strohmaier, chair of the Missoula Board of County Commissioners, explained the irony of the situation. &#8220;The lack of infrastructure is a big reason why Pyramid Mountain Lumber cannot find housing for their employees, and hence, change is upon us,&#8221; he said.
With the mill's payroll contributing over $6 million a year to the local economy, its closure will change the fabric of Seeley Lake. &#8220;You take that out of this economy, it&#8217;ll change the fabric of the town. There&#8217;s no doubt,&#8221; Johnson noted.
Although surrounded by abundant natural resources, Seeley Lake faces a future where its long-standing timber industry might disappear, all because there isn't a place for workers to live.

The air carrier reported a second-quarter adjusted EPS of $0.08, above the consensus loss of $0.13, and <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/earnings">compared to EPS of $0.45 reported a year ago.</a>
JetBlue reported operating revenue of $2.428 billion, down 6.9% year over year, beating the consensus of $2.397 billion. Second quarter system capacity decreased by 2.7% year over year.

Operating expenses for the quarter declined slightly by 0.1% to $2.37 billion, while the operating expenses per available seat mile (CASM) rose 2.6% YoY.
Adjusted operating expenses rose 0.9% to $1.73 billion. Operating expenses per available seat mile, excluding fuel and other non-airline operating expenses, increased by 3.7% YoY.
JBLU&#8217;s Average fuel price in the second quarter was $2.87 per gallon, up from $2.73 a year ago.
The airline ended the quarter with ~$1.6 billion in liquidity, excluding an undrawn $600 million revolving credit facility.
JBLU delivered improved operational performance year-over-year with a completion factor of 98.8%, up from 97.8% YoY.
&#8220;While many of these underlying initiatives will take time to ramp to their full potential, with the strong foundation of JetForward, we are poised to generate $800 &#8211; $900 million of incremental EBIT from 2025 through 2027 and expect the benefit to be realized evenly over those three years,&#8221; said Ursula Hurley, JetBlue&#8217;s chief financial officer.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/MSFT#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>) will release its fiscal year fourth quarter financial results, after the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/MSFT/earnings">closing bell on Tuesday.</a>
Analysts expect the Redmond, Washington-based company to report quarterly earnings at $2.93 per share, up from $2.69 per share in the year-ago period. Microsoft is seen posting revenue of $64.39 billion, compared to $56.19 billion a year earlier, according to data from <a href="https://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard">Benzinga Pro</a>.
On July 23, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-stock-ratings/analyst/586e4055351b9b00018beeab/brent-bracelin">Piper Sandler analyst Brent Bracelin</a> reiterated Microsoft with an Overweight rating, while increasing the price target from $465 to $485.
With the recent buzz around Microsoft, some investors may be eyeing potential gains from the company's dividends too. As of now, Microsoft offers an annual dividend yield of 0.70%, which is a quarterly dividend amount of 75 cents per share ($3.00 a year).
So, how can investors exploit its dividend yield to pocket a regular $500 monthly?
To earn $500 per month or $6,000 annually from dividends alone, you would need an investment of approximately $853,460 or around 2,000 shares. For a more modest $100 per month or $1,200 per year, you would need $170,692 or around 400 shares.

To calculate: Divide the desired annual income ($6,000 or $1,200) by the dividend ($3.00 in this case). So, $6,000 / $3.00 = 2,000 ($500 per month), and $1,200 / $3.00 = 400 shares ($100 per month).
Note that dividend yield can change on a rolling basis, as the dividend payment and the stock price both fluctuate over time.
How that works: The dividend yield is computed by dividing the annual dividend payment by the stock&#8217;s current price.
For example, if a stock pays an annual dividend of $2 and is currently priced at $50, the dividend yield would be 4% ($2/$50). However, if the stock price increases to $60, the dividend yield drops to 3.33% ($2/$60). Conversely, if the stock price falls to $40, the dividend yield rises to 5% ($2/$40).
Similarly, changes in the dividend payment can impact the yield. If a company increases its dividend, the yield will also increase, provided the stock price stays the same. Conversely, if the dividend payment decreases, so will the yield.

How To Earn $500 A Month From Microsoft Stock Ahead Of Q4 Earnings

180 Life Sciences Corp. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ATNF#NASDAQ">ATNF</a>) ("180 Life Sciences" or the "Company"), today announced topline results from a clinical pharmacology study (the "Study"), that evaluated the uptake of cannabidiol (CBD) in a solid formulation which can be delivered as a pill orally. The clinical trial in humans, performed with Prof. Avi Domb of the Hebrew University, School of Pharmacy, and with Prof. Elyad Davidson, of Hadassah Hospital, compared two solid formulations of CBD with a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved drug for epilepsy, Epidiolex. The purpose of the Study was to compare the pharmokinetic (PK) profile of a generic approved CBD product, Epidiolex&#xAE;, with two solid formulations. We believe this type of trial has yet to be examined in a clinical setting. For the Company's trial, twelve volunteers received all three formulations in a crossover randomized trial. &nbsp;
Epidiolex is a CBD dissolved in 8% ethanol and 80% sesame seed oil, plus flavoring agents, that is given as a liquid solution via syringe in the mouth. Results of the clinical trial indicate that one of the two solid forms was absorbed faster and exhibited higher maximal levels compared to Epidiolex. Both of the solid formulations were well tolerated.
CBD is a purified product that is not psychoactive, which we believe has potential benefits for treatment of inflammatory processes and pain. A major problem in working with CBD is its low, unpredictable and variable uptake following the most convenient delivery form, by mouth, as a liquid CBD in oil like the approved pharmaceutical Epidiolex, given for epilepsy.
