EV giant Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) said on Wednesday that the owners of its <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/24/11/41929739/tesla-makes-1000-powerwalls-at-giga-nevada-in-a-day-as-energy-storage-segment-booms">Powerwall home battery</a> around the globe generated 4.5 TWh of solar energy this year.
What Happened: The energy generated together by the owners could power the company&#8217;s Model 3 EV sedan for 700,000 trips around the world, the company said in a post on social media platform X. Powerwall owners also saved over $800 million on their utility bills, the company said. 
Powerwall is a powerful home battery that stores solar energy for use when the grid goes down. The company has previously said that it has the capacity to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/08/40145508/tesla-says-it-can-make-one-powerwall-3-every-25-seconds-ceo-elon-musk-terms-it-a-great-product" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">build a Powerwall 3- the latest iteration of the product- every 25 seconds</a>, or more than 700,000 units per year.
A powerwall system, Tesla says, can power an entire home including large appliances.

The company is talking with potential advisers and listing might happen as early as the first half of 2025, the report said. 
CATL&#8217;s plans, however, could change, the report noted, given the company&#8217;s deliberations are ongoing. A second listing in Hong Kong will need the company to get approval from China&#8217;s securities regulator.
If CATL raises $5 billion or more, it would top Midea Group Co&#8217;s $4.6 billion share sale in September, Bloomberg noted, making it the city&#8217;s biggest since early 2021 when Kuaishou Technology had a $6.2 billion share sale.
CATL did not immediately respond to <a href="https://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard">Benzinga&#8217;s</a> request for comment on the prospective second listing.

It also revealed that in 2024 so far, it completed 60 million battery swaps, and Chinese EV maker Nio Inc. uses battery-swapping technology in 60% of its vehicles.

Alphabet Inc.&#8217;s (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOG#NASDAQ">GOOG</a>) (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/GOOGL#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) autonomous driving unit Waymo said on Wednesday that the company served over four million fully autonomous rides in 2024, taking the total number of rides to over 5 million.
What Happened: Waymo&#8217;s robotaxi rides are open to the public in Phoenix, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. 
While the popular destination for riders in Phoenix was the Sky Harbor International Airport, the most popular destination for riders in San Francisco was The Ferry Building. In Los Angeles, The Grove shopping center was most popular among Waymo riders, the company said. 
Waymo now serves over 150,000 trips to riders every week, the company added. 
Why It Matters: Waymo is now working to commercially launch in Austin and Atlanta on the Uber app next year. It also intends to launch its services in <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/24/12/42360297/waymo-eyes-expansion-of-autonomous-rides-to-users-in-miami-by-2026">Miami with fleet partner Moove in 2026. </a>
The company also said earlier this week that it will start testing its robotaxis in Tokyo, Japan, beginning in early 2025, in its <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/tech/24/12/42523474/alphabets-waymo-expands-global-reach-with-tokyo-robotaxi-testing-eyes-left-hand-traffic-challenges">first step towards international markets</a>.

This indicates a potential increase of about 19.17% from its current price. nalysts generally rate First Solar as a &ldquo;Strong Buy,&rdquo; suggesting they anticipate the stock will perform very well in the near future.

Enphase has expanded its market presence in Europe and Australia.



For the first quarter of 2024, <a href="https://www.gurufocus.com/news/2416371/enphase-energy-inc-enph-q1-2024-earnings-call-transcript-highlights-navigating-market-dynamics-with-strategic-foresight">Enphase Energy reported revenue</a> of $263.3 million with a non-GAAP net income of $48 million and a GAAP net loss of $16.1 million. The non-GAAP EPS was $0.35, and the GAAP loss per share was $0.12.&nbsp;



The company generated $41.8 million in free cash flow. Enphase shipped approximately 1.4 million microinverters and 75.5 megawatt hours of batteries. Revenue for Q2 is expected to be between $290 million and $330 million with a GAAP gross margin forecasted between 42% to 45%.

I feel that a sizable investment into JKS could lead to to a seven-figure sum.



JinkoSolar r<a href="https://www.investing.com/news/stock-market-news/earnings-call-jinkosolar-q1-2024-results-show-soaring-module-shipments-93CH-3404716">eported its first quarter financial results</a> for 2024 with total revenues reaching RMB 23.04 billion (approximately U.S.$3.19 billion). This marked a slight decrease of 1.2% from the same period in the previous year. The company also experienced a decrease in gross profit to RMB 2.74 billion (U.S.$378.8 million) and an operating loss of RMB 339.6 million (U.S.$47.0 million). This is where I believe that JKS could be an undervalued pick.



Despite these financial pressures, JinkoSolar&rsquo;s module shipments showed significant growth, increasing by 53.3% year-over-year to nearly 20 gigawatts. The company remains optimistic about the global demand for photovoltaic (PV) modules, projecting an increase of 25% to 30% in 2024. They expect module shipments for the second quarter to be between 24 and 26 gigawatts, with full-year shipments anticipated to reach between 100 and 110 gigawatts.



With a market cap of just around 1.3 billion, it remains one of those small-cap solar stocks to buy for a potentially great pay day ahead.

Looking ahead to the rest of 2024, Shoals Technologies has provided a revenue forecast ranging from $440 million to $490 million, with adjusted EBITDA expected to be between $130 million and $150 million. These projections indicate a cautious but optimistic outlook as the company aims to manage its operational challenges and capitalize on market opportunities. 



The guidance suggests that while the first half of the year may be weaker, there are expectations for a stronger performance towards the end of the year.



I think that that SHLS could be a good pick for investors who want to diversify their solar portfolio holdings away from direct players and into the realm of companies that provide the &ldquo;picks and shovels&rdquo; that help the solar energy thrive, which could have great upside.
