The Company is offering 1,750,000 ordinary shares and selling shareholders are offering an aggregate of 750,000 ordinary shares. The Company will not receive any proceeds from any sale of ordinary shares by the selling shareholders.

Dole Food (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/dole#NYSE">DOLE</a>) is scheduled to report its second-quarter 2011 results Thursday, July 28, after the closing bell. The world's largest producer of fresh fruit and vegetables posted strong first-quarter results due in part to higher prices and improved market conditions in Europe and Asia. And Dole Food said in an 8-K filing in June that positive momentum continued in the second quarter, which should please investors. 

Analysts are looking for the company to report earnings of $0.66 per share, which is up from $0.49 in the same period of last year. But that estimate is down from $0.69 per share 60 days ago. The analysts' forecast also calls for the company to post revenues of $1.8 billion, an increase of 4.5% from a year ago.

Dole Food's track record on earnings has been mixed recently: falling short of consensus estimates in two of the past four quarters. First quarter EPS were more than double expectations, though. Looking ahead to the full year, analysts so far are looking for per-share earnings to be up 71.1% year-over-year and revenues that are 3.8% higher.

The Company

Dole Food Company operates in three segments. The Fresh Fruit segment sells bananas, pineapples and other fruits primarily in North America, Europe, and Asia. The Fresh Vegetables segment produces and market various fresh and fresh-cut vegetables. The Packaged Foods segment produces and markets canned fruit, fruit juice, snack foods and frozen fruits. Principal customers include mass merchandisers and supermarkets. The company was founded in 1851.

During the three months that ended in June, the company announced that it intends to refinance its existing senior secured credit facilities in order to provide enhanced operating flexibility.

Performance

The company has a long-term earnings per share growth forecast of 9.7%. Its forward P/E ratio estimate is less than the trailing P/E ratio, which is lower than the industry average. The PEG ratio is 0.9. The consensus recommendation is to buy the stock; two of five analysts rate it a Strong Buy. Their mean price target (where analysts expect the share price to go) is $15.83 per share.

The share price ended Tuesday at $13.78, which is 24.5% higher than a year ago. However, the stock has traded mostly between $13 and $15 since the beginning of the year. It is now above both the 50-day and 200-day moving average. Shares have outperformed competitors Chiquita Brands (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/cqb#NYSE">CQB</a>) and Fresh Del Monte Produce (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/fdp#NYSE">FDP</a>) in the past six months, but they have underperformed the broader markets during that time.

Coinstar (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/cstr#NASDAQ">CSTR</a>) is scheduled to report its second-quarter 2011 results Thursday, July 28, after the markets close. Coinstar's Redbox DVD rental business may ultimately benefit from Netflix's (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/nflx#NASDAQ">NFLX</a>) recently announced price change, but for the second quarter, investors no doubt will be keeping an eye on the growth in rental revenue and in the number of kiosks.

Analysts are looking for the self-service kiosk operator to report earnings of $0.81 per share, which is up from $0.39 in the same period of last year. That estimate is also up from $0.79 per share 60 days ago. The analysts' forecast also calls for the company to post revenues of $445.9 million, an increase of 30.3% from a year ago. Note that is above Coinstar's recent revenue guidance.

Analysts have underestimated Coinstar's per-share earnings in the past five quarters; in the first quarter earnings results were more than double the consensus estimate. Also, analysts so far are looking for sequential and year-over-year growth of both earnings and revenue in the current quarter.

The Company

Bellevue, Washington-based Coinstar operates automated retail businesses under the Redbox self-service DVD rental (more than 30,000 kiosks) and Coinstar self-service coin-counting (about 19,000 kiosks) brands. The company's kiosks can be found in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. The company was founded in 1991.

During the three months that ended in June, Redbox announced that it would begin offering video game rentals, and Coinstar announced a deal to put kiosks in Safeway (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/swy#NYSE">SWY</a>) grocery stores. Coinstar also appointed a new chief customer officer.

Performance

The company has a long-term earnings per share growth forecast of 22.3%. Its forward P/E ratio estimate is less than the trailing P/E ratio, and it has a PEG ratio of 0.7. The consensus recommendation has been to buy the stock for more than 90 days; 12 of 18 analysts now rate CSTR a Buy or Strong Buy. Their mean price target (where analysts expect the share price to go) is currently $62.88 per share.

The share price closed Tuesday at $51.68, down from about $60 late last week, following lowered revenue guidance and the announcement of an executive departure. But shares are still 25.9% higher than six months ago. In that time, the stock has outperformed the specialty retail industry average and the broader markets, but it has underperformed Netflix.

The <a href="http://etfdailynews.com/blog/?tag=etf-lawsuit" target="_blank">complaint names ProShares</a>, ProShare Advisors LLC, SEI Investments Distribution Co., Michael L. Sapir, Louis M. Mayberg, Russell S. Reynolds, III, Michael Wachs, and Simon D. Collier, as defendants (collectively, “Defendants”). ProShares sells its Ultra and UltraShort ETFs as “simple” directional plays. As marketed by ProShares, Ultra ETFs are designed to go up when markets go up; UltraShort ETFs are designed to go up when markets go down. The SKK Fund is one of ProShares’ UltraShort ETFs. The SKK Fund seeks investment results that correspond to twice (-200%) the inverse of the daily performance of the Russell 2000 Growth Index (“RGI”). In 2008, for example, the RGI fell approximately 38.96 percent. Rather than increase approximately 78 percent (double the inverse), the SKK Fund increased approximately 54.26 percent. 
The complaint alleges the Defendants violated the Securities Act by failing to disclose the following risks, inter alia, in the Registration Statement: (1) if SKK Fund shares were held for a time period longer than one day, the likelihood of <a href="http://etfdailynews.com/blog/?tag=etf-lawsuit" target="_blank">catastrophic losses was huge</a>; and (2) the extent to which performance of the SKK Fund would inevitably diverge from the performance of the RGI — i.e., the overwhelming probability, if not certainty, of spectacular divergence.
