Founded in 1943, BFC is the bank holding company for Bremer Bank.
As of September 30, 2024, Bremer had $16.2 billion in total assets, $11.5 billion in total loans, and $13.2 billion in deposits. After the partnership is completed, Old National will become the third-largest bank in the Twin Cities. In addition, the partnership expands Old National's reach into several other vibrant markets throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin. Once combined, the new organization would have over $70 billion in assets (based on September 30, 2024 asset figures), a significantly larger footprint, and offer additional banking capabilities and enhanced resources to serve customers.

Since its inception, the Trust has made more than $1.1 billion in grants and program-related investments to more than 4,200 organizations.
Upon closing of this transaction, the Trust will have an approximate 11% ownership stake in Old National and a Trustee of the Otto Bremer Trust will join the Old National Board of Directors.

The definitive merger agreement has been unanimously approved by the Board of Directors of Bremer and Old National. NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDA#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) investors have no shortage of reasons to continue bidding up NVDA stock. Primarily, the semiconductor stalwart — known for its advanced graphics processors that undergird artificial-intelligence-based platforms and applications — recently posted financial results for the third quarter that<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/11/42099904/nvidia-q3-earnings-highlights"> handily beat expectations</a>.
Management disclosed earnings per share of 81 cents, outpacing Wall Street's expectation calling for 75 cents. Notably, the tech firm beat its bottom-line target for eight straight quarters. On the top line, Nvidia rang up sales of $35.1 billion, up a whopping 94% on a year-over-year basis. This tally also exceeded the consensus view of $33.12 billion.
According to Wedbush Securities Managing Director Dan Ives, the chipmaker's results were a "jaw-dropper." Further, the market expert<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/11/42102642/nvidia-delivered-jaw-dropping-q3-earnings-says-dan-ives-this-is-the-fourth-revolution-playing-out-in-front-of-our-eyes"> emphasized the transformative potential</a> of the underlying AI innovation. "This is the fourth revolution playing out in front of our eyes," Ives told CNN.
Not to be left outdone, CNBC personality Jim Cramer<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/24/11/42129914/jim-cramer-doubles-down-on-nvidia-demand-is-accelerating-as-ai-customers-have-no-choice-but-to-buy-its-chips"> pounded the table</a> on NVDA stock. "The demand is accelerating because the payoff is so great," the analyst remarked, mentioning Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's claim that customers earn five dollars for every dollar invested in Nvidia chips.

This dynamic raises suspicions that some market participants are becoming skeptical about Nvidia.
The Direxion ETFs: For investors that enjoy approaching the equities arena from a tactical view, financial services provider Direxion offers two directionally opposite exchange-traded funds. Optimists in the AI narrative may consider Direxion Daily NVDA Bull 2X Shares (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDU#NASDAQ">NVDU</a>), which seeks daily investment results of 200% of the performance of NVDA stock.
Those who are pessimistic about Nvidia's rally sustaining itself may consider Direxion Daily NVDA Bear 1X Shares (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NVDD#NASDAQ">NVDD</a>). This ETF attempts to replicate 100% of the inverse performance of NVDA stock. To be clear, both leveraged and inverse ETFs are designed to be held for periods lasting no longer than one day. Exposure beyond this recommended period may lead to valuation erosion due to the daily compounding of leverage.
The NVDU ETF: Since the start of the year, the NVDU ETF returned traders just over 359%, highlighting the blistering results that Nvidia posted. Still, some kinks in the armor raise questions.

In October, Amazon signed a five-year agreement with Databricks to deliver cost-efficient <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/10/41337034/amazon-strikes-at-nvidias-stronghold-through-databricks-deal-cutting-ai-costs-by-40" rel="noreferrer noopener">AI-building solutions</a> to businesses.
The collaboration focuses on Amazon&#8217;s Trainium AI chips, offering a budget-friendly alternative to Nvidia&#8217;s widely used GPUs for AI customization. Databricks intends to pass on the savings from Trainium&#8217;s use to customers, challenging Nvidia&#8217;s dominance in the AI hardware market.
Amazon faces hurdles in software development, an area where Nvidia excels. Its Neuron SDK, still in its early stages, must evolve to match the ease and flexibility Nvidia offers to AI developers.
Meanwhile, Nvidia&#8217;s Blackwell chips won&#8217;t <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/10/41405124/whats-going-on-with-nvidia-stock-on-friday" rel="noreferrer noopener">reach the market</a> until early 2025, impacting significant clients such as AWS. Production challenges at Nvidia have forced AWS to await bulk production of Blackwell chips for its data centers. AWS Chief Matt Garman highlighted the delay during an interview on Bloomberg Television, citing Nvidia&#8217;s production adjustments.
In September, DA Davidson&#8217;s Gil Luria downgraded Microsoft Corp to Neutral, <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/09/40986921/microsofts-ai-lead-shrinks-analyst-downgrades-stock-as-amazon-and-google-close-the-" rel="noreferrer noopener">citing diminishing AI</a> and cloud leadership as key factors. Luria highlighted AWS and Alphabet Inc Google Cloud&#8217;s strides in silicon deployment, outpacing Microsoft&#8217;s Azure in data center advancements. Despite early AI gains, Luria flagged competitors like AWS and GitLab as catching up to GitHub Copilot, challenging Microsoft&#8217;s edge in innovation.
