Eton Pharmaceuticals, Inc ("Eton" or the "Company") (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ETON#NASDAQ">ETON</a>), an innovative pharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing treatments for rare diseases, today announced that it has acquired Galzin (zinc acetate).
"This acquisition furthers our mission of supporting life-saving treatments for conditions impacting ultra rare patient populations. Galzin is a critical medication for patients with Wilson Disease, and we look forward to supporting these patients with our comprehensive Eton Cares patient support program," said Sean Brynjelsen, CEO of Eton Pharmaceuticals.
Galzin is FDA-approved as a maintenance treatment of patients with Wilson Disease who have been initially treated with a chelating agent. It is estimated that less than 5,000 patients in the United States are currently being treated for Wilson Disease.
Eton expects to assume the commercialization of the product in the United States in the first quarter of 2025 with its metabolic sales force supporting healthcare professionals who treat Wilson Disease. Once available, Eton plans to offer the product through its Eton Cares patient support program that provides high-touch, personalized service tailored for rare disease patients and their providers. The program will offer a $0 co-pay for all qualified commercial patients, provide prescription fulfillment, insurance benefits investigation, educational support, and other services designed to help patients access treatment.
As part of the transaction, Eton has also acquired European rights to the product, where it is commercialized under the tradename Wilzin&#xAE; by a third party. Under an existing distribution agreement, Eton will continue to supply the product to the third party and the third party is responsible for all commercialization activities in Europe.

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) achieved record electric vehicle sales in China in December, marking a new milestone for the company.
The EV maker reported approximately 83,000 units sold in China during December, a 12.8% increase compared to November, according to a report from <a target="_blank" href="https://cnevpost.com/2025/01/03/tesla-sales-china-dec-2024/" rel="noreferrer noopener">CnEV Post</a>.
This brings Tesla&#8217;s total sales in China for 2024 to around 657,000 vehicles, an 8.8% year-on-year rise, setting another all-time high.
The report noted that China remains a vital market for Tesla, accounting for approximately 196,900 vehicles, or 40% of its global deliveries, in the fourth quarter.
Tesla and other Chinese automakers, including Nio Inc and Li Auto Inc are <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/25/01/42761825/ev-price-war-heats-up-as-chinese-automakers-extend-subsidies" rel="noreferrer noopener">offering substantial discounts </a>and attractive financing options to lure buyers in the world&#8217;s largest automobile market.

The EV maker will report financial results for the fourth quarter after the market closes on Jan. 29.&nbsp;
The automaker is expected to report earnings of 74 cents per share and revenue of $27.385 billion in the fourth quarter, according to estimates from <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pro/" rel="noreferrer noopener">Benzinga Pro</a>.

U.S. stocks <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/25/01/42780825/sp-500-falls-for-5th-straight-session-tesla-tumbles-greed-index-remains-in-fear-zone">fell </a>on Thursday fueled by disappointing Tesla results and mixed economic data. On the economic front, jobless claims unexpectedly decreased, while manufacturing activity contracted further in December. Construction spending also stalled unexpectedly.
Sector performance was mixed, with consumer discretionary, materials, and real estate leading the declines. However, the energy and utilities sectors bucked the trend and closed higher.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed lower by approximately 152 points or 0.36% at 42,392.27, while the S&amp;P 500 fell by 0.22% to 5,868.55 and the Nasdaq Composite slipped 0.16% to 19,280.79. Russell 200 was up 0.06% at 2,231.67.

As the Santa Rally is seven days long, starting on Christmas Eve, Louis Navellier of Navellier &amp; Associates in his daily market commentary said, &#8220;It appears that the disappointing Santa Claus rally is going to stay that way until it&#8217;s over. Statement of intention not to make an offer for THG plc

On 17 April 2023, THG Plc (&quot;THG&quot;) announced it was in receipt of an indicative proposal from Apollo Global Management, Inc. (&quot;Apollo&quot;), on behalf of certain investment funds managed by it or its affiliates, to acquire the entire issued and to be issued share capital of THG.

Apollo confirms that it does not intend to make an offer to acquire THG. Accordingly, except with the consent of the Panel on Takeovers and Mergers (the &quot;Takeover Panel&quot;), Apollo, and any person acting in concert with Apollo, is bound by the restrictions under Rule 2.8 of the Code.

Softbank Group Corp&nbsp;(OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SFTBF#OTC">SFTBF</a>) (OTC:&nbsp;<a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/sftby#OTC" style="color:#4a6ee0; background:transparent; margin-top:0pt; margin-bottom:0pt" target="_blank">SFTBY</a>) offloaded its stake in the struggling British online shopping firm&nbsp;THG Plc&nbsp;(OTC:&nbsp;<a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/thgpf#OTC" style="color:#4a6ee0; background:transparent; margin-top:0pt; margin-bottom:0pt" target="_blank">THGPF</a>) (OTC:&nbsp;<a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/thghy#OTC" style="color:#4a6ee0; background:transparent; margin-top:0pt; margin-bottom:0pt" target="_blank">THGHY</a>) to co-founder Matthew Moulding and Qatar Investment Authority.

The move ended speculation about Softbank&#39;s fateful investment, writing off up to &pound;450 million ($511 million) of a stake previously valued at about &pound;500 million, Bloomberg&nbsp;<a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-10-17/softbank-sells-thg-stake-to-ceo-qia-after-massive-share-drop?srnd=technology-vp&amp;sref=TBDibEcD" style="color:#4a6ee0; background:transparent; margin-top:0pt; margin-bottom:0pt" target="_blank">reported</a>.

SB Northstar, the fourth largest shareholder in THG, will sell its 80.6 million shares, representing about 6.4% of the British company&#39;s capital, Reuters&nbsp;<a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.reuters.com/markets/deals/japans-softbank-sells-stake-thg-2022-10-17/" style="color:#4a6ee0; background:transparent; margin-top:0pt; margin-bottom:0pt" target="_blank">reports</a>.

THG and SoftBank had agreed to terminate their collaboration in July due to challenging global market conditions.

While it is unclear exactly how much Softbank lost on the deal, it is selling its stake for just &pound;31 million. The QIA, already a shareholder, will purchase about 84% of the shares, and the transaction will likely occur on October 20.

THG, formerly known as The Hut Group, operates hundreds of websites offering beauty, skincare, and health-food products and helping rivals sell online via Ingenuity.&nbsp;

THG&#39;s shares have fallen by 80% in 2022. It issued a profit warning in September on weaker consumer appetite in the U.K. and higher costs for raw materials&nbsp;

Takeover speculation has constantly stirred around THG after Moulding said he regretted floating the company and hinted he might take the business private again.

Moulding&#39;s purchase will take his holding in THG to 320.9 million shares, about 25% of the group&#39;s capital.

In September, Softbank sold its entire stake in&nbsp;Sinch AB&nbsp;(OTC:&nbsp;CLCMF) following a share price collapse of more than 90% in the Swedish&nbsp;<a class="editor-rtfLink" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/22/09/29097875/softbank-offloads-stake-in-this-pandemic-favorite-as-losses-weigh" style="color:#4a6ee0; background:transparent; margin-top:0pt; margin-bottom:0pt" target="_blank">cloud-based platform provider</a>.&nbsp;

Softbank founder Masayoshi Son had shared cost-cut intentions at his conglomerate and the Vision Fund investment arm after a record $ 23 billion loss.&nbsp;

Price Action:&nbsp;SFTBY shares traded lower by 1.85% at $18.60 on the last check Tuesday.
