Tokyo Electric Power Co Holdings, or TEPCO, is a holding company that, through its subsidiaries, supplies electric power to Tokyo's metropolitan area in Japan. TEPCO segments its business operations through subsidiaries that, manage fuel and thermal power generation, power transmission and distribution, and retail electricity sales. To produce electricity, the company controls a portfolio of hydroelectric, thermal, and nuclear power plants. The Proposal: Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/swtuy#OTC">SWTUY</a>) confirmed Monday, that it has received a preliminary and conditional non-binding proposal in relation to a possible offer for all shares issued by the company. The company issued statemetn in repsonse to media reports.
<a href="http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-04-25/swedish-orphan-said-to-be-open-to-sale-amid-boom-in-drug-deals">Bloomberg</a> reported on Saturday that Pfizer and Biogen are among the companies being mentioned as possible buyers. Goldman Sachs was reportedly hired to assist in the sale process.
Teva Reiterates $82.00 Cash, Stock Bid for Mylan
The Offer: Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/teva#NYSE">TEVA</a>) reiterated Monday, its commitment to its proposed combination with Mylan N.V. (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/myl#NYSE">MYL</a>) for $82.00 per share, comprised of approximately 50% cash and 50% stock. Mylan had officially rejected the offer on Monday.
Teva President and CEO, Erez Vigodman, said "While we are disappointed that Mylan has formally rejected our proposal, the Teva Board and management team are fully committed to completing the combination of Teva and Mylan, and we stand ready to quickly complete a transaction that is compelling for both Teva and Mylan stockholders". Bloomberg reported Monday, thatTeva's bid for Mylan could go 'hostile'.
Mylan shares fell 5.71% Monday, closing at $71.72.
MasterCard Acquires Applied Predictive Technologies for $600M
The Deal: MasterCard announced Monday, that it has entered into an agreement to acquire cloud-based analytics provider, Applied Predictive Technologies, for $600 million.

Applied Materials, Tokyo Electron Limited Agree to Terminate Business Combination Agreement
The Termination: Applied Materials, Inc. (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/amat#NASDAQ">AMAT</a>) and Tokyo Electron Limited (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/tkecy#OTC">TKECY</a>) announced Monday, that they have agreed to terminate their Business Combination Agreement. No termination fees will be payable by either party.
Applied Materials shares fell more than 8% Monday, closing at $19.97.
Perfect World Enters into Definitive Agreement for Going Private Transaction for $20.20/ADS in Cash
The Deal: Perfect World Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/pwrd#NASDAQ">PWRD</a>) announced Sunday, that it has entered into a merger agreement with Perfect Peony Holding Company Limited, owned by the Company's founder and chairman, Michael Yufeng Chi, and Perfect World Merger Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Parent. At the time of the merger, each ADS, which represents five class B ordinary shares, will be cancelled in exchange for the right to receive $20.20 in cash without interest.
The merger is expected to close in H2 of 2015.

Applied Materials (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/amat#NASDAQ">AMAT</a>) and&nbsp;Tokyo Electron Limited&nbsp;(OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/tkecy#OTC">TKECY</a>) today announced that they have agreed to terminate their Business Combination Agreement (BCA). No termination fees will be payable by either party. The decision came after&nbsp;the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) advised the parties that&nbsp;the coordinated remedy proposal submitted to all regulators would not be sufficient to replace the competition lost from the merger. Based on the DoJ's position, Applied Materials and Tokyo Electron have determined that there is no realistic prospect for the completion of the merger. Tokyo Electric Power Co (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/tkecy#OTC">TKECY</a>) reported a group net loss for the year ended March.

Tepco posted a net loss of Y781.64 billion, versus a year-ago loss of Y1.247 trillion. Its operating balance swung to a loss of Y272.51 billion, versus a year-ago profit of Y399.6 billion.

Tepco's revenue dropped to Y5.349 billion, from Y5.368 trillion. 

For the current fiscal year, Tepco projects a group net loss of Y100 billion, an operating loss of Y235 billion and revenue of Y6.025 trillion.

Tokyo Electric Power Co (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/tkecy#OTC">TKECY</a>) announced its plans to raise corporate electricity rates for plants and office buildings effective April 2012.

Tepco To Raise Corporate Electricity Rates From April

Tokyo Electric Power (<a class="ticker" href="/stock/tkecf#">TKECF</a>) (<a class="ticker" href="/stock/tkecy#">TKECY</a>), operator of the earthquake damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, reported Tuesday that its losses for the latest quarter amounted to ¥572 billion or $7.4 billion, including the cost of cleanup and victim compensation.

Tokyo Electric could face trillions of yen in claims from the March 11 earthquake and tsunami which caused tremendous damage and lead to meltdowns at three reactors.More than 100,000 residents were forced to evacuate the area around the site. Japan's agricultural industry has suffered serious damage as well.

Tokyo Electric Posts $7.4B Loss

Dish Network Corp (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/dish#NASDAQ">DISH</a>) reported a 30% rise in its second-quarter profit. Dish Network's quarterly profit surged to $335 million, or $0.75 per share, from $257 million, or $0.57 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue climbed 13% to $3.59 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.79 per share on revenue of $3.38 billion. Dish Network reported that net subscribers dropped 135,000 to 14.056 million during the quarter.

Beazer Homes USA Inc (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/bzh#NYSE">BZH</a>) reported wider-than-expected fiscal third-quarter loss. Beazer posted a quarterly net loss at $59.1 million, or $0.80 per share, versus a loss of $27.8 million, or $0.41 per share, in the year-ago period. Its loss from continuing operations came in at $0.75 per share. Its revenue dipped 49% to $172.8 million. However, analysts were expecting a loss of $0.46 per share on rev of $230.2 million. Beazer reported that its total home closings dropped 49% to 791 homes. However, new orders climbed 23.7%.

Fossil Inc (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/fosl#NASDAQ">FOSL</a>) reported upbeat quarterly profit, but issued weaker-than-expected third-quarter profit projections. Fossil reported its Q2 earnings at $51.4 million, or $0.80 per share, versus $54.5 million, or $0.80 per share, in the year-ago period. The company's revenue climbed 35% to $556.7 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.76 per share on revenue of $537.3 million.

AOL Inc (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/aol#NYSE">AOL</a>) released its results for the second quarter on Tuesday. AOL posted a quarterly loss at $11.8 million, or $0.11 per share, versus a year-ago loss of $1.06 billion, or $9.89 per share. AOL's revenue dropped 8% y/y to $542.2 million from $592.2 million. However, analysts were expecting revenue of $535.1 million. AOL's advertising revenue climbed 5% to $319 million.

E.W. Scripps Co (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/ssp#NYSE">SSP</a>) swung to a second-quarter loss on Tuesday. Scripps posted a quarterly loss at $2.2 million, or $0.04 per share, versus a year-ago profit of $99.5 million, or $1.56 per share. Its revenue declined 3% to $183 million. Scripps reported that its television segment's revenue increased 3%, while earnings rose 1.7%. The newspaper segment's profit dropped 67%, while revenue declined 5.6%.

Endo Pharmaceuticals Holding Inc (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/endp#NASDAQ">ENDP</a>) reported weaker-than-expected second-quarter profit and lifted its full-year forecast. Endo Pharmaceuticals reported its quarterly net income at $54.6 million, or $0.44 per share, versus $51.5 million, or $0.44 per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding items, the company's earnings came in at $1.05 per share. Its revenue surged 53% to $607.6 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.06 per share on revenue of $596.3 million. Endo Pharmaceuticals now projects 2011 adjusted earnings of $4.55 to $4.65 per share, up from its previous forecast of $4.20 to $4.30 per share. It projects sales of $2.72 to $2.8 billion, versus its earlier outlook of $2.35 to $2.45 billion. Analysts are expecting adjusted earnings of $4.46 per share on revenue of $2.64 billion. 

Sempra Energy (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/sre#NYSE">SRE</a>) reported a rise in its second-quarter earnings. Sempra Energy reported its quarterly profit at $511 million, or $2.12 per share, up from $222 million, or $0.89 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its revenue rose 21% y/y to $2.42 billion. Its adjusted earnings came in at $0.97 share. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.98 per share on revenue of $2.18 billion.

EchoStar Corp (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/sats#NASDAQ">SATS</a>) swung to a profit of $18.5 million in the second quarter, versus a year-ago loss. EchoStar reported its quarterly earnings at 18.5 million, or $0.21 per share, versus a loss of $41.5 million, or $0.49 per share, in the year-ago quarter. Its revenue declined 3.1% to $584.2 million from $603 million.

ReneSola Ltd (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/sol#NYSE">SOL</a>) released its quarterly results and withdrew its full-year projections. The company also issued downbeat Q3 revenue projections. For April-June, ReneSola's net profit attributable to common shareholders dipped 95% to $1.8 million, or $0.02 per ADS. Its revenue dropped 2% to $249.3 million. ReneSola projects Q3 revenue of $220 to $240 million, versus analysts' estimates of $264.6 million. 

Ralcorp Holdings Inc (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/rah#NYSE">RAH</a>) reported a 47% decline in its fiscal third-quarter profit. Ralcorp reported its quarterly earnings at $28.3 million, down from $53 million, in the year-ago period. Its adjusted earnings surged to $1.15 per share from $1.11 per share. Its revenue climbed 22% to $1.17 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.15 per share on revenue of $1.15 billion.

Apollo Global Management LLC (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/apo#NYSE">APO</a>) released its results for the second quarter on Tuesday. Apollo reported a quarterly loss at $51 million, or $0.46 per Class A share, versus a loss of $75.1 million, or $0.79 per Class A share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue surged to $308.9 million from $79.3 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.31 per share on revenue of $331 million. 

InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/ihg#NYSE">IHG</a>) reported a rise in its first-half profit. InterContinental Hotels' operating profit surged 23% y/y to $269 million, versus analysts' estimates of $254 million. Its revenue rose 10% to $850 million. Its revenue per available room climbed 6.7% in the half and 6.5% in the second quarter.

Cablevision Systems Corp (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/cvc#NYSE">CVC</a>) reported a rise in its second-quarter profit. Cablevision reported its quarterly net income at $87.8 million, or $0.31 per share, up from $60.9 million, or $0.20 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue climbed 9.1% to $1.69 billion. Cablevision reported that it added 5,000 Internet customers during the quarter. It also added 27,000 phone customers during the same period.

Inergy LP (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/nrgy#NYSE">NRGY</a>) reported wider-than-expected Q3 loss. Inergy posted a quarterly loss at $35.5 million, or $0.32 per share, versus a loss of $35.1 million, or $0.26 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its total revenue surged 33% y/y to $388.7 million. However, analysts were expecting a loss of $0.19 per share on revenue of $371.4 million.

Hecla Mining Co (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/hl#NYSE">HL</a>) reported downbeat second-quarter profit. Hecla Mining reported its quarterly income applicable to common shareholders at $33.2 million, or $0.11 per share, up from $13.7 million, or $0.05 per share, in the year-ago period. Its revenue climbed 33% to $117.9 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.14 per share on revenue of $121.1 million.

Enterprise Products Partners LP (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/epd#NYSE">EPD</a>) reported a 27% rise in its second-quarter profit on Tuesday. Enterprise Products Partners reported its quarterly profit at $449 million, or $0.51 per share, up from $354 million, or $0.26 per share, in the year-ago period. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.47 per share. The company's revenue surged to $11.2 billion from $7.5 billion.

Caesars Entertainment Corp released its results for the second quarter on Tuesday. Caesars posted a quarterly loss at $155.5 million, versus a loss of $274 million, in the year-ago period. Its net revenue rose 0.4% to $2.23 billion.

RWE AG (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/rweoy#OTC">RWEOY</a>) swung to a net loss in the second quarter. RWE posted a net loss of EUR229 million, versus a EUR486 million net profit in the year-ago period. RWE's net profit in the January-to-June period declined 22.1% y/y to EUR1.59 billion, from EUR2.04 billion. However, analysts were expecting a net profit of EUR1.74 billion. Its operating profit dropped 32.7% y/y to EUR3.34 billion, from EUR4.96 billion. Its revenue came in at EUR27.46 billion, versus analysts' estimates of EUR28.21 billion.

China Overseas Land &amp; Investment Ltd (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/caovf#OTC">CAOVF</a>) reported a 35% rise in its first-half net profit. China Overseas Land's net profit for the six months ended June 30 surged to HK$6.84 billion, from HK$5.07 billion, in the year-ago period. The company's revenue surged 25% y/y to HK$21.88 billion from HK$17.55 billion.

DANG's adjusted EBITDA rose 27.7% y/y to RMB7.6 million ($1.2 million). Dangdang's total net revenue increased 53.4% to RMB687.6 million ($105.0 million). However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.00 per share on revenue of $103.37 million. Dangdang projects its Q1 total net revenue to be in the range of RMB779 million to RMB789 million.

Ann Inc (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/ann#NYSE">ANN</a>) released its results for the first quarter on Friday. Ann's quarterly profit surged to $27.3 million, or $0.51 per share, from $22.6 million, or $0.38 per share, in the year-earlier period. Its sales surged to $523.6 million from $476.2 million. However, analysts were expecting a profit of $0.48 per share on sales of $512.1 million. Its comparable sales climbed 7.8%. 

Tokyo Electric Power Co (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/tkecy#OTC">TKECY</a>) released its results for the fiscal ended March 31. The company reported a loss of 1.25 trillion yen ($15.3 billion) for the fiscal ended March 31. Of Tepco's loss, around ¥1 trillion or 80% was due to charges associated to the post-earthquake nuclear crisis at its Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Tepco also reported that its President Masataka Shimizu will step down. The company's managing director Toshio Nishizawa has been named the new president.

Yingli reported its Q1 net income at $56.2 million, or $0.35 per American Depositary Share (<a class="ticker" href="/stock/ads#">ADS</a>), up from $28 million, or $0.18 per ADS, in the year-ago period. Excluding items, the company's earnings came in at $0.35 per ADS, down from analysts' estimates of $0.39. Yingli's revenue surged 47% to $527.3 million, down from analysts' estimates of $567.5 million. 

Camelot Information Systems Inc (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/cis#NYSE">CIS</a>) released its results for the first quarter on Friday. Camelot reported its Q1 earnings at $0.10 per share, versus analysts' estimates of $0.10 per share. The company's revenue surged 51.7% y/y to $53.6 million, versus analysts' estimates of $50.4 million. Camelot projects Q2 earnings of $0.20 per share on revenue of $60 million. However, analysts expected Q2 earnings of $0.19 per share on revenue of $58.09 million. The company projects FY11 earnings of $0.86 per share on revenue of $254 million. However, analysts estimated earnings of $0.87 per share on revenue of $254.38 million.

Scottish &amp; Southern Energy PLC (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="/stock/ssezy#OTC">SSEZY</a>) reported a 21% rise in its net profit for the year ended March 31 on Friday. Scottish &amp; Southern Energy reported a net profit at 1.5 billion pounds ($2.4 billion), versus 1.24 billion pounds, in the year-earlier period. Its adjusted profit before tax surged 1.6%. The company's revenue surged to 28.3 billion pounds, from 21.6 billion pounds, in the year-earlier period. Scottish &amp; Southern Energy also lifted its dividend by 7.1% to 75 pence per share.
