<p>GameStop shares were up more than 5% at last check on the heels of the Roaring Kitty post, per <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com">Benzinga Pro</a>. </p>
<p>Other so-called meme stocks were also getting a lift, including <strong>Koss Corp</strong> (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/KOSS#NASDAQ">KOSS</a>) and <strong>BlackBerry Ltd</strong> (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/BB#NYSE">BB</a>). But AMC was trading flat to down after jumping briefly at the open. </p>
<p>AMC is considered one of the original meme stocks alongside GameStop. The stock has maintained cult-like support from a group of retail traders who call themselves apes since the meme stock craze of 2021. </p>
<p>AMC CEO <strong>Adam Aron</strong> has leaned into the support from retail traders. He <a href="https://x.com/CEOAdam/status/1871919103780548802">reposted</a> multiple X posts on Wednesday featuring images of apes watching movies at AMC theaters. </p>

<p>&#8220;The great thing about this time of year is every day is like a weekend &#8230; so a lot of momentum at the end of the year,&#8221; Gelfond said.</p>

His only other post since is the image of a present posted on Wednesday. </p>
<p>There is a lot of speculation about what Roaring Kitty could be planning. One of the most popular guesses across Reddit&#8217;s r/WallStreetBets and Stocktwits appears to be a bet on <strong>Tilray Brands Inc</strong> (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TLRY#NASDAQ">TLRY</a>). Tilray fits into the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/420">420 theme</a> and is due to report earnings before the market opens on Jan. 9, according to <a href="http://pro.benzinga.com">Benzinga Pro</a>. Tilray was up about 4% at last check.</p>
<p>GameStop shares are up about 5% over the past month and are up more than 46% over the past three months. AMC shares, on the other hand, are down about 18% over the past month and are down about 8% over a three-month period.</p>

<li>Shares of <strong>SciSparc Ltd. </strong>(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SPRC#NASDAQ">SPRC</a>)got a boost, surging 117% to $0.4801 after the company announced it received its first shipment of vehicles manufactured by Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group.</li>
<li><strong>Zoomcar Holdings, Inc. </strong>(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ZCAR#NASDAQ">ZCAR</a>) shares were also up, gaining 75% to $2.50 after it reported a 43% year-on-year increase in November bookings.</li>

<li><strong>SaverOne 2014 Ltd </strong>(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SVRE#NASDAQ">SVRE</a>) was down, falling 33% to $1.0148.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Commodities</strong><br /><br />In commodity news, oil traded down 0.2% to $69.98 while gold traded up 0.5% at $2,649.10.</p>
<p>Silver traded up 0.2% to $30.335 on Thursday, while copper rose 0.7% to $4.1375.</p>
<p><strong>Euro zone</strong></p>
<p>In Europe, markets in Germany, France, London, Spain and Switzerland are closed for the Boxing Day holiday.</p>
<p>European shares were higher today. The eurozone's STOXX 600 gained 0.17%, Germany's DAX fell 0.18% and France's CAC 40 rose 0.14%. Spain's IBEX 35 Index rose 0.33%, while London's FTSE 100 rose 0.42%.</p>

<p>Asian markets closed mostly higher on Thursday, with Japan's Nikkei 225 gaining 1.12%, China's Shanghai Composite Index gaining 0.14% and India's BSE Sensex falling 0.01%.</p>
<p><strong>Economics</strong></p>
<p>U.S. initial jobless claims fell by 1,000 from the previous week to a reading of 219,000 during the second week of December, compared to market estimates of 224,000.</p>
