&#8220;For humanitarian reasons, we have consistently expressed Mexico&#8217;s commitment to preventing the continuation of the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/health-care/24/11/42146502/us-overdose-deaths-decline-as-fentanyl-potency-weakens-harm-reduction-expands">fentanyl epidemic</a> in the United States, which, moreover, is an issue of consumption and public health in your country,&#8221; Sheinbaum says in the letter, which she read during her usual morning conferences. 
Sheinbaum detailed Mexico's recent measures, including enforcement actions by the armed forces and prosecutors. According to the data she shared, in 2024 alone, authorities seized large quantities of &#8220;various drugs&#8221;, confiscated over 10,340 firearms, and arrested more than 15,640 individuals for drug-related violence.
Furthermore, she noted Mexico&#8217;s legislative progress toward stricter penalties.

Sheinbaum called attention to the illicit flow of chemical precursors from Asia, which enter North America through Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. 
She stressed that addressing this issue requires international collaboration: &#8220;It is publicly known that these precursors are smuggled into North America. This makes global cooperation imperative.&#8221;
The president juxtaposed the flow of drugs with the southbound<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42166673/drug-cartels-use-tether-and-bitcoin-to-launder-millions-court-documents-reveal"> illegal trafficking</a> of <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/guns">firearms</a> from the U.S. into Mexico. 
She cited stark statistics: 70% of illegal weapons seized in Mexico originate in the U.S., fueling violence. 
&#8220;The synthetic drugs are not consumed by us, and the weapons are not produced here. Yet, we bear the brunt of the deaths caused by organized crime in response to the demand for drugs in your country.&#8221;

She noted that mutual economic ties, especially in industries like automotive manufacturing, <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/global/24/11/42198583/will-trump-lead-us-into-trade-war-with-mexico-president-claudia-sheinbaum-rebukes-threats">would suffer</a> under an antagonistic approach, leading to inflation and job losses on both sides of the border, and posed that both Mexico and the U.S. should work together on a mobility program instead of reinforcing the borders. 
&#8220;I am convinced that North America's economic strength lies in preserving our commercial partnership. Dialogue is the best path toward understanding, peace, and prosperity for our nations,&#8221; she added.

The company reported earnings at the end of October. What To Know: Meta shares have struggled to move higher since the company reported third-quarter financial results last month. Although Meta <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/earnings/24/10/41637326/meta-platforms-q3-earnings-revenue-beat-eps-beat-daily-actives-up-5-strong-momentum-in-ai">beat analyst estimates</a> on the top and bottom lines as revenue jumped 19% and daily actives climbed 5%, the stock faced selling pressure due to spending concerns. 
Meta raised its full-year 2024 capital expenditures&nbsp;outlook by $1 billion and said it continues to expect operating losses to &#8220;increase meaningfully&#8221; year-over-year&nbsp;for Reality Labs.
It&#8217;s worth noting that insiders have been selling Meta shares in recent months. CEO Mark Zuckerberg, CFO Susan Li and COO Javier Olivan all sold shares in November under trading plans, with Olivan most recently selling shares on Monday, according to Benzinga <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/META/insider-trades">data</a>.
On a positive note, <a href="https://www.axios.com/2024/11/26/exclusive-threads-adds-35m-new-signups-this-month">Axios</a> reported Wednesday that Meta&#8217;s Threads has added 35 million new users on the platform since Nov. 1. Micro-blogging startup Bluesky has seen users flock to the platform since Election Day, suggesting users are leaving X because of Elon Musk&#8217;s political views. Meta also appears to be a beneficiary.

On the earnings call last month, Zuckerberg said Threads had over 275 million monthly active users. That number appears to be growing rapidly with Axios reporting that the app has seen more than one million daily sign-ups for three months straight.
Meta aims to capitalize on the momentum. Zuckerberg on Monday said Threads is testing a new feature that will allow users to choose what they see when they open the app. Previously, Threads directed users to a default feed, but users can now choose to only see posts from accounts they follow.
Meta is also set to <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/general/social-media/24/11/42177636/meta-heads-to-trial-over-instagram-whatsapp-acquisitions">head to trial in April</a> after Judge James Boasberg rejected Meta&#8217;s attempted dismissal of the case and set a court date earlier this week. The Facebook parent company will face U.S. Federal Trade Commission allegations that it acquired Instagram and WhatsApp&nbsp;to stifle competition in the social media space.

What's Up With Meta Stock Lately?

The cryptocurrency <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/money/ripple-xrp-price-prediction">XRP Token</a> (CRYPTO: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/xrp/usd">XRP</a>) from Ripple has soared in price over the last week, with optimism coming from an XRP exchange-traded fund and news that Ripple will invest in a newly rebranded <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42220218/ripple-to-invest-in-rebranded-xrp-exchange-traded-product-by-bitwise">Physical XRP ETP.</a>
While Ripple has hit new 52-week highs, the cryptocurrency remains down from all-time highs.
What Happened: Asset manager WisdomTree recently filed to establish a trust that could lead to the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42170669/wisdomtree-files-for-xrp-etf-trust-report">launch of an XRP ETF.</a>
This move follows others like Bitwise who have already filed to launch similar ETFs. On Wednesday, Ripple announced it would invest in the new rebranded Bitwise Physical XRP ETP.
&#8220;Global demand for exposure to the crypto asset class has exploded in 2024,&#8221; Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said in a&nbsp;<a href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2024/11/27/2987978/0/en/Bitwise-Rebrands-XRP-ETP-Ripple-To-Invest-in-Product.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">statement</a>. &#8220;XRP is at the forefront of this momentum, standing out as a cornerstone for those seeking access to assets that are resilient and have real-world utility.&#8221;
Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley said XRP's utility and reliability are among the reasons investors are excited about XRP.
&#8220;XRP and the XRP Ledger are among the most familiar and trusted blockchains in crypto," Horsley said.
With Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs already approved, cryptocurrency experts see ETFs based on other top 10 cryptos by market capitalization like Solana, Dogecoin and XRP as the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/cryptocurrency/24/11/42011875/solana-ripple-litecoin-etfs-may-be-on-the-table-under-trump-administration-industry-experts-think" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">next to be approved.</a>
The XRP token has gone through many wild swings over the years, with a case brought on by the SEC alleging XRP to be a security, sending the price and interest in the cryptocurrency down. A landmark court ruling that said XRP was not a security helped bring the cryptocurrency&#8217;s price back up.
While XRP has risen in value in recent months, the cryptocurrency remains down from all-time highs.

Urban Outfitters, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/URBN#NASDAQ">URBN</a>) shares traded higher on Wednesday following the release of the company&#8217;s third-quarter earnings report, which exceeded expectations. What To Know: Urban Outfitters reported third-quarter earnings per share of $1.10, beating estimates of 89 cents. Revenue came in at $1.36 billion, up 6.3% year-over-year and ahead of the consensus estimate of $1.32 billion.
The company posted net income of $102.9 million for the quarter, compared to $83 million a year ago. Retail net sales rose 3.2%, with comparable retail sales up 1.5%. Anthropologie and Free People brands reported comparable sales growth of 5.8% and 5.3%, respectively, while Urban Outfitters brand sales fell 8.9%.

Nuuly, the company's subscription rental service, grew sales by 48.4%, supported by a 51% increase in active subscribers. Wholesale revenue increased 17.4%, driven by a 20.3% rise in Free People wholesale sales, partially offset by declining Urban Outfitters wholesale revenue.
Gross profit for the quarter rose 9.4% to $497.3 million, with a 105-basis-point improvement in gross margin due to higher merchandise markups and fewer markdowns at Urban Outfitters. Operating expenses increased 6.7%, reflecting higher marketing and store payroll costs.
&#8220;These results were driven by outperformance across all three business segments – Retail, Subscription and Wholesale. Additionally, we&#8217;re optimistic about the outlook for Holiday demand and believe total comparable sales could be similar to our third quarter results,&#8221; said Richard Hayne, CEO of Urban Outfitters.
The company ended the quarter with $182.5 million in cash, $340.4 million in marketable securities and a 10% inventory increase, largely due to early holiday merchandise shipments and higher sales expectations.
Following the print, several analysts raised price targets, which appears to have helped push shares higher on Wednesday.

Many well-known cryptocurrencies had impressive runs in 2021. Ethereum was a big gainer in 2021 going from $737.71 to $3,682.63.
One of the factors that helped Ethereum in 2021 was increased interest and massive valuations for non-fungible tokens.
Larva Labs launched CryptoPunks on June 23, 2017. The collection of 10,000 24&#215;24 pixel art images built on the Ethereum blockchain is now one of the biggest non-fungible token collections.
One of the early NFT launches, CryptoPunks are highly coveted among NFT collectors and often times serve as profile pictures for those in the cryptocurrency community on social media.
The project was not an early success but has quickly become the standard among NFT collections attracting investments from celebrities and investors alike.
While many NFT collections have witnessed drops in their price and lack of interest from investors, CryptoPunks are one of the few that have held up in value and demand. The collection is seeing recent interest with over $10.75 million in sales in the last week.

If You Invested $1,000 In Ethereum When CryptoPunks Were Released, Here's How Much You'd Have Now

(NASDAQ:<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/DGLY#NASDAQ">DGLY</a>) (the "Company") today announced it received a delinquency notification letter from Nasdaq on November 25, 2024, which indicated that the Company was not in compliance with Nasdaq Listing Rule 5250(c)(1) as a result of the delayed filing of the Company's Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the period ended September 30, 2024 (the "Quarterly Report"). The Nasdaq Listing Rule requires listed companies to timely file all required periodic financial reports with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (the "SEC"). This notification has no immediate effect on the listing of the Company's securities on Nasdaq.
Nasdaq has informed the Company that it must submit a plan to regain compliance with respect to the filing requirement by January 24, 2025. If the plan is accepted, Nasdaq can grant an exception of up to 180 calendar dates from the due date of the initial delinquent filing for the period ended September 30, 2024, or until May 19, 2025, to regain compliance.
The Company is working diligently to file the Quarterly Report as promptly as practical, and expects to return to a normal filing cadence in 2025.

Artificial intelligence is sparking a capital expenditure boom that dwarfs anything seen in decades. JPMorgan estimates the broader AI ecosystem could surpass $1 trillion in spending by the end of the year. This includes costs for infrastructure, engineering talent and data center upkeep.
While this AI frenzy promises to drive earnings growth, JPMorgan analysts warn of potential pitfalls. Capital misallocation and lofty growth expectations could draw investor skepticism by late 2025. 
Still, the long-term AI opportunity is undeniable, and JPMorgan sees key players poised to capitalize.

JPMorgan projects a bounce-back year for earnings growth in 2025. S&amp;P 500 companies are projected to achieve an 11.4% earnings increase with all 11 sectors turning positive after 2024&#8217;s uneven performance.
Meanwhile, small-cap Russell 2000 firms should see rebounding with double-digit earnings growth after enduring two years of declines.
Even the Magnificent 7 are expected to sustain a 15% growth rate.
JPMorgan analysts note a surprising upside could emerge if borrowing costs or the U.S. dollar ease. This should boost S&amp;P 500 earnings by 1% for every 2% drop in the dollar.
